Can you tell me if there is a ferry service from Green Bay, WI (or any close town) to Mackinac Island, MI? Question: We are flying into Green Bay this summer for a wedding. The plane tickets have been purchased and are non-refundable. We thought we might try to ferry over to Mackinac Island, if there was ferry transportation available. I see lots of ferries to the island from cities within Michigan...but can't find any from Wisconsin. Thanks for your help!
Answer:
Mackinac island is nowhere close to Green Bay so there is no ferry. It's about a 4-5 hour drive along the Lake Michigan lakeshore. You could possibly take the SS Badger car ferry from Manitowoc WI over to Ludington MI and drive up but that would take at least as long if not longer. Such is the curse of living in central or northern Wisconsin and having to get to lower Michigan--so near and yet so far. Why not go to Door County instead?
Good luck and enjoy your visit.

Do you believe in Freedom of Religion? How about Equality in Religion? Question: Holiday Pentacle Update
Following Monday night's vandalism of a pentacle placed on display at the Olean, NY, city hall, residents have ended the battle between the Nativity scene and the pointy star, by removing both to private properties.
Yesterday, a Nativity scene located next to the damaged pentacle at city hall was moved down the street to the lawn of a Baptist church. Shortly afterwards, John Garlow, husband of Wiccan resident April Garlow, came and retrieved the silver and lavender pentacle display, which he took to the couple's home. The pentacle had been up for three days, and the battle was starting to get ugly prior to Monday's vandalism. Garlow said that messages on the Internet said that his wife deserved a beating, and that threats were made towards a local professor who objected to religious signs on public property.
The really shameful part? When the pentacle was originally at the Garlows' house, prior to being placed at city hall, someone threw eggs at the display. It seems like these folks can't get a break -- no matter where they put their display, someone has to be nasty about it. However, to give props to most of the people of Olean, several residents said that while they were disappointed with the removal of the Nativity scene, they also felt it was wrong for someone to have driven a pickup truck over the Wiccan pentacle.

Holiday Pentacle: The Green Bay Edition
After all the ballyhoo about holiday pentacles, and whether it was okay or not to place them next to a Nativity scene in Olean, NY, the city of Green Bay, Wisconsin is getting in on the action. A Wiccan pentacle now sits on the roof of city hall, right beside a manger scene set up by city council president Chad Fredette. What makes this absolutely hilarious is that Fredette made headlines recently when he pooh-poohed the Freedom From Religion Foundation for challenging a Nativity display the small town of Peshtigo, WI.
When Green Bay's council offered other religions the chance to put their own displays side by side with the city's manger, the good folks at Circle Sanctuary were quick to grab the opportunity. Rev. Selena Fox said, "In holiday displays that reflect religious diversity at this time of year, it is important that Yule, also known as Winter Solstice, is included as well as Christmas. Winter Solstice has been celebrated as a sacred time by people of many religions and cultures through the ages. In fact, in the fourth century, early Christian leaders in the Western church selected December 25 for the celebration of Jesus' birthday because it coincided with the culmination of the Pagan Roman Winter Solstice celebration known as Saturnalia."
City council will meet on Tuesday night to discuss the issue of whether it's legal to have any religious displays at all on city property, but meanwhile, the local Hindu, Buddhist and Unitarian-Universalist groups are all making requests to get symbols of their faiths placed in the display. The city may have to honor all of these, because they have no formal policy on holiday displays.
http://paganwiccan.about.com/b/2007/12/16/holiday-pentacle-the- green-bay-edition.htm
I myself believe there should be Seperation of Church and State. But I can't help but think "Go Selena...Go Selena!"
Deuce, I didn't "write the question". They are articles explaining something you're obviously not interested enough to read. It's okay; don't read it.
Answer:
I believe both in Separation of Church and State AND Freedom of Religion -- the former should be in place to preserve the latter. In a public display such as this, ALL religions should be represented, or none at all.
I believe that Individuals should have the right to express their religious views whenever and wherever they choose. I don't think our approach to religion should be "keep it at home." If a student in school wants to express their faith, or a religious group wants to be included in a public holiday display, I have no problem with that. I do, however, have a problem with State Sponsored expressions of faith -- the word "God" on our money and in our Pledge implies an endorsement of only certain religions, particularly Judeo-Christian religions. Not all religions are monotheistic, and some are even non-theistic.
This situation is an example of religious bigotry and intolerance. Certain members of the "majority faith" of Christianity feel threatened by any idea that challenges, or offers an alternative, to their faith. They rally for "Freedom of Religion," only as long as it's their religion. As soon as a rival faith comes along, it's threats and intimidation. "This is a Christian Nation!" has become their battle cry, and they declare "Culture War" on anyone that disagrees with them.
Fortunately, not all Christians are like this. What we need is more cooperation between religions. We need to stand together, support and defend each other's rights and freedoms, and share the holiday display with our neighbors of various faiths. A multi-faith holiday display would truly express "Peace on Earth, and good-will toward human kind."

Why can't these haters just let people be happy and enjoy a Holiday? Question: During the past week, ADF attorneys have offered to defend free of charge two cities in Wisconsin that faced legal action from the secularist Freedom from Religion Foundation (FRF) if those governments did not remove nativity scenes from their public holiday displays.
In Green Bay, City Council President Chad Fradette - acting as a private citizen - received permission from Mayor Jim Schmitt to place a nativity scene on one of the overhangs at the entrance to City Hall, McCaleb stated.
And officials in Peshtigo allowed private businesses or individuals to place displays for the holiday at Triangle Park, a small municipal park in that city, he said. The holiday display included a nativity scene placed by the Chamber of Commerce, as well as displays of Christmas trees, reindeer, Santa Claus and a rescue squad car.
While affirming that such exhibits are constitutional, McCaleb quoted Annie Laurie Gaylor, FRF co-president, who recently declared in an interview that the state of Wisconsin "cannot have a Christmas anything."
"The American people, common sense and the U.S. Constitution are clearly winning the war on Christmas," McCaleb said in his statement. "These battles against Christmas are out of touch with the 95 percent of Americans" who celebrate the holiday.
"Such attacks are simply part of a larger war that the secular Left is waging on all things Christian," he added.
Anyone can setup a display for their religious holiday, don't bother me at all.
Answer:
It is interesting, but if we as Christians would get off our duffs instead of letting others just walk all over what we are and stand for, and stop the insanity of taking our rights away to our religion,( I don't like the word religion, as Jesus was not a religion He was a person in the flesh.) and freedom of speech, it wouldn't have gone this far. As Christians the last time I read my Bible, the Lord did let us go to battle! The state buildings and land belong to all people, and not just to the atheist and these lawyer organizations. Finally someone that has nads has finally stepped up and said enough! We aren't going to take it. Didn't Jesus and the 12 face condemnation and even death? That's why being a Christian is one of the hardest things in the world! I went so far as to put a tattoo on the lower calf of my leg, of my depiction of Jesus ,so I can walk on to state and government land which is also my land with His face displayed, and believe me here in Florida I do that everyday of my life. I have had many, many, comments all in the positive, even from Pastors saying nice ink, and we see where you stand. That is as good as a hymn everytime I hear someone comment. I noticed I haven't been removed from the buildings yet from having it on state or government property. I will never stop saying Christmas Tree, Merry Christmas, or take Christ out of anything. You also noticed that Wal- Mart might be disliked by many, but they have taken down all Holiday signs and reinstated Christmas in the tree section, and say Merry Christmas instead of Happy Holidays. They said they have had enough of being told to say Holiday Trees, Happy Holidays, and taking Christ out of Christmas so they have put Him back also. It's long over due! We know times are going to be rough and nasty in the end times, but we as Christians must uphold our part also. Just had to spout off! Very Good Post! You have a very Merry Christmas filled with Happiness,Health, Wealth beyond your wildest dreams, and remember to pray for our troops, and light a candle for those who can't be with us! God Bless!

We are considering a move to Wisconsin.? Question: We've been looking at Sheboygan or Sturgeon Bay. My husband is an over the road truck driver, and Wisconsin looks to be cheaper to live in than Texas. Can anyone help w/ the best area to live in? We also want to live on the Lake Michigan side of the state, but not too far north, and not in Milwaukee at all. We want to get away from the city due to our 3 children. Any suggestions?
Answer:
Sheboygan is an excellent choice. Sturgeon Bay .... a pretty area, but I personally couldn't stand to live that far away from everything!
With Sheboygan, you have the option to drive 1 hour to Milwaukee, or 1-2 hours to Green Bay (I'm thinking of shopping, or if you need to get to the "big city" for any reason. Or there's always Fond du Lac an hour away (again for the shopping).
Sheboygan itself has plenty of good shopping, more so than when I grew up in the area. And it's begun booming with restaurants. It's a much more sophisticated town now.
It's very safe as well. I believe it was ranked one of the safest and also one of the nicest places to live. The people mainly have that small town mentality and are very friendly.
I'm sure there are some bad areas of town, but I really can't say where they are. The north side is nice, and the south side is nice - although I think the north side might be a BIT nicer. Obviously, the closer you live to the lake, the more fog and cold air you'll get. Just something to keep in mind.
It's a pretty town too.
Plymouth would be nice as well, but you'd be farther from the lake. It's about 20 minutes from Sheboygan. But it is a nice small town - not super small, but not as big as Sheboygan. Your school choices would be slightly more limited - I think you'd have to choose between private/religious school and the public high school. Sheboygan has more schools, but for all I know, your kids' school is based on the neighborhood you live in.
There are some small stores in town, but you'd probably have to go to either Fondy or Sheboygan if you wanted the mall experience.

- Val Venis defeated Jay Bradley.
- Super Crazy defeated Shawn Spears.
- Hacksaw Jim Duggan defeated Chad ?
- Lance Cade and Trevor Murdoch defeated The Highlanders.
RAW:
- Raw begins with a video segment of Randy Orton attacking John Cena's father Johnny Fabulous. The crowd is perfect, cheer when they should and boo when they should.
- Jeff Hardy defeated Umaga to capture the IC title.
- They are showing Triple and Carlito as upcoming tonight, not sure if its a match or the Cabana. They are also advertising "the McMahon family confrontation."
- Segment with Vince and Carlito. Vince suggests a handicap match because Umaga is mad about his loss. So it'll be Umaga and Carlito vs. Triple H.
- Another segment with Melina talking to William Regal about things she has done with Vince in private meetings. She whispers in Regal's ear and Regal claims its "filthy."
- Stephanie McMahon shows up, and then Linda shows with Linda slapping Melina in the face. Melina rubs her face, turns around and sees Ron Simmons who says "damn."
- Santino Marella comes out to vent his frustrations about Simmons and the "dump of a City Columbus," and Sandman interrupts. Sandman chases him out of the ring.
- Beth Phoenix defeated Maria in about a minute. Beth says she is cashing in her opportunity against Candice Michelle at Unforgiven, and Candice comes running to save Maria.
- William Regal comes out to announce he gave Randy Orton the night off because of his actions last week. They are showing Randy via "satellite." Regal announces Orton vs. Cena at Unforgiven for the WWE championship. Cena comes out and kisses his dog tags and attacks Regal. They send out three referees out to try to get Cena off .. Cena walks up the ramp and leaves Regal in a heap on the floor.
- Brian Kendrick and Paul London defeated the World's Greatest Tag Team - Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin.
- They show Regal in an ambulance getting treated and Shane McMahon walks by towards the arena.
- They aired a video about CM Punk and his desire to be champion. In the segment he says something like "I don't smoke, I don't do drugs, my high is wrestling."
- Vince and Coach have financial advisors and they are talking about Vince's money and how the family can't touch him. He then asks Coach how Regal is doing. Coach says "pretty beat up" and Vince replies with "well Coach, I guess its time for you to step up again."
- Cody Rhodes and Mickie James defeated Jillian Hall and Daiviri.
- Melina did the kiss cam.
- During the Triple H vs. Carlito and Umaga match, the ref rang the bell about 1 minute into the match because they were double teaming Triple H in the corner, I'm guess for a DQ. Carlito brings a steel chair in, Triple H grabs it and starts to beat Umaga. He decided it wasn't doing the job so he climbed out of the ring to grab the sledgehammer busting Umaga wide open and continues his attack. Carlito retreats leaving Umaga in a pool of his own blood with Triple H standing over Umaga holding the sledgehammer. Huge pop for Triple H.
- Off air, they carry Umaga out on a stretcher and change the pad on the mat from all of the blood.
- Vince comes out and says everything is about the money and out walks Linda. She tells Vince she's the CEO of WWE and has plenty of money, she doesn't need his. But just so he knows based on his cheating and his parade of women. Vince tries to defend himself saying he's loney on the road and Stephanie comes out. She COULD take him to court for everything he's got. Vince tells Stephanie they have had good times together as she grew up and he put a video together of "Daddy's girl." Which is a montage of clips from past times like Vince choking Steph, kicking her, etc. He screams its the wrong video and turns it off. Coach says someone sabotated the video and then cut to Triple H in the back drinking water. Hunter says "Vince, I had nothing to do with that! Hi Steph." Steph says she does love Vince and he obviously doesn't get it and asks him to step down as chairman of the board. Shane's music hits. Vince asks Shane if he agrees and Shane asks which Vince McMahon he's talk to. The fearless leader who he's proud to call his father or the grapefruit swining maniacal conceited (etc.) embarrassment. Vince tells Shane to stop calling his wife names. Boring chants then turn into "asshole" chants. Fans seem really bored .. its hard to hear the mics aren't very loud. Vince says he confesses that he has only cheated on Linda once in his whole life and that was with the woman who gave birth to his bastard child. Kennedy apologizes for interrupting saying everything happens for a reason. There was a reason he came face to face with him the night he found he had a son. Vince is on his knees vowing to be a better father and human. Vince is on his knees when Mr. Kennedy comes out. That his last name is the same as his middle name .. that he demands the bastard child be revealed next week in Green Bay, Wisconsin. And Kennedy says "ya see dad .. i'm your son." Stephanie butts in and says "you might be a bastard, but you aren't my dad's bastard." And tells him to prove it. Kennedy tells Vince he inspired him to become the greatest WWE superstar. Vince stands there with a grin as Mr. Kennedy's says "Mrrr.. Kennedy .. Mr. McMahon." A guy interrupts and says he represents the woman who gave birth to his son, its a male on the roster but the DNA test shows its not Mr. Kennedy. But it won't be revealed until next week. The guy messes up his lines dropes his paper and says the only clue he can give out is "things are looking up." They stumble through that portion because the lawyer totally messed up.
Vince sends everyone away except Kennedy and tells him to stop pretending and Vince says we are gonna have a match .. bring out a referee. Kennedy vs. Cena, a man full of rage for all the right reasons, and calls Cena a lunatic. Cena gets in the ring, runs his mouth and beats Kennedy down. The ref rings the bell and the match is on. Cena continues attacking and ripped Kennedy's shirt off and shreds it. Cena wins the FU.
- Raw goes off the air. Cena takes time in the ring and leaves shaking hands with fans.
- No dark match, Lilian told everyone goodnight.
Brooksie: They are only taping this episode b/c they are going over seas.
Answer:
It's not going to be that good, but a lot of the show had to be filled up with them having storylines in order to cover up for their suspensions. Nice twist with Kennedy not being the child anymore, although I wonder who it is now.
To the guy above, RAW usually live, but it was taped this week because of Labor Day and the fact that WWE is going on an African tour this week.

Advice on how to land a job, please? Question: Okay, I'm 21 years old, and am in a position now where I need to grab a job, either part time or full time (I went from fulltime student to living with a room mate) ... I'm in a brand new city/state as well (Wisconsin, Green Bay), and I just have no idea how to approach this situation! I looked online for job listings, I even signed up at Adecco, but all the searches I've found in the last 4 days of looking all require experience.
But ... how am I to get experience if the only jobs hiring take ppl with experience? lol
I'm completely new to this, so any tips on how to land a job would really be helpful. Im really interested in working in perhaps a bookstore, or a library, but I'll take anything, besides fastfood.
I'm kinda getting desperate o.O
Answer:
If you do not have the experience you need, and can afford it financially, volunteer in your field to get experience. There are tons of places you can volunteer: if you want to go into social work, volunteer at shelters or kids help places, if you want to get into healthcare, volunteer at hospitals or retirement homes. Just make sure you plan out what you plan to do with your experience (in terms of gettin a job afterwards) so that you have an idea of your goals.
Regarding your case specifically, I don't know from experience, but I'm SURE you can volunteer at public libraries.

Radiology Schools? Question: Does anybody know of any radiology schools in milwaukee are or fox cities area(green bay-fond du lac) in wisconsin. im trying to better my life and the lifes of my children
Answer:
I am assuming you want to be a radiologic technologist, not a radiologist. A radiologist is a doctor, who has been through medical school.
There are many schools in many states where you can get trained to be a radiologic technologist (the proper term for a x-ray tech). You can attend a hospital based program (and earn a certificate), a 2 year college program (AS degree), and even a 4 year college program (BS degree). The hospital based programs are the least expensive, and honestly, I think the education received there is superior. Once you graduate and take your registry exam, no future employer is going to care what type of educational program you went through. All they care about is your license. You can find an accredited RT program at this site. Just search "radiography" and your state...links are provided which will give you additional information on each program (cost, duration of program, contact person):
http://www.jrcert.org/cert/Search.jsp
The schools in near the cities you listed are:
***Aurora St. Luke's Medical Center Milwaukee
***Columbia/St. Mary's Hospitals Milwaukee WI
***Froedtert Memorial Lutheran Hospital Milwaukee
***R Milwaukee Area Technical College Milwaukee
***Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare - St. Joseph - Milwaukee
***Moraine Park Technical College Fond du Lac
***Bellin Health Hospital/Bellin Health Systems, Inc. Green Bay
RTs do more than just x-rays of bones. We do fluoroscopy studies (involving the intestinal tract and barium), arthrograms (assisting the radiologist with injecting contrast or dye into joints for evaluation) and myelograms (assisting the radiologist with injecting contrast into the spinal canal). If you work in a hospital setting, you will do portable exams in ICU, CCU, the ER and even surgery. Some RTs take x-rays in the morgue.
Most RTs will also become proficient and licensed in other modalities, such as mammography, CT and/or MRI. This training does not require any additional formal training, and is usually learned on the job. The more licenses you have, the more money you can make, as you will be in higher demand. With additional schooling, you can also do ultrasound.
Well, I work in a free standing imaging center. My office is only open M-F, 8:00-5:00. No weekends, nights or call work. In a hospital, most imaging departments are staffed 24 hours a day. You could be scheduled to work nights, PM shifts, weekends, holidays....anytime really!
I highly recommend you do an observation in both a hospital imaging department and a free standing imaging facility. Until you see what RTs do, you won't know if it is the job for you! It would also give you a wonderful opportunity to talk to RTs in your area. Best wishes.....
Oh, another good resource....check out the student area of the ASRT website:
https://www.asrt.org/Content/educators/_educatorsstud ents.aspx
The American Society of Radiologic Technologists just did a large salary survey, in 2007. The salary varies, depending on your experience, specialties and geographical area. To view, the survey, and see the average salary in your state, you can go to this link:

What places in the U.S. offer higher wages and lower cost of living? Question: I live in the Tampa Bay, FL..I like it here because of the weather. But its getting expensive and the wages arent climbing. Plus, its very transient here. Also, the jobs here are terrible. I graduated from college 3 years ago and I am still working in tourism. I cant find a career in pharmaceutal sales. My dating life isnt good either. I cant seem to meet any high quality stable women in Florida.
I thought of moving back to my hometown of Chicago because I love it there...its family oriented city, many high quality women, great careers, and a working city..but the weather is terrible and the cost of living is high. I would make much better wages...but I couldnt afford a home in Chicago. I dont want to move anywhere out West. Been there done that. I lived in Las Vegas and Arizona. I didnt care for the West.
I looked at parts of the deep south but I dont know. I'm looking at south carolina, tennessee, alabama, georgia, texas, ...maybe wisconsin and indiana. I want specific towns with lots of growth and employment. Maybe sugraland texas? Charleston, SC? Nashville, TN? Alabama? Not kentucky. Not arkansas. Not knoxville. I need to stayt away from high pollutuon. I have asthma.
I just dont know.
Any suggestions would be helpful. I want a place thats low cost, higher wages, green grass, clean air, teeming with available family-oriented women, and a warmer climate. I want a solid career, a family someday, and time is running out. Im almost 40. I need to find a career and meet a nice woman.
Any suggestions on places to find what I am looking for would be helpful.
Answer:
I live in Indiana. The cost of living is very low compared with other places, but you make less too. But it's definitely enough money to get by. I'm 22 and already own a very nice house (not to mention the boat, camper, etc, that my husband insists we need). I feel lucky to be far ahead of the game. I'm sure very few 22 year olds in FL could afford to buy a house down there.
However...... i suppose Indiana wouldn't have the warmer climate you are looking for, you'd freeze in the winter some days! It's very unpredictable though, one day it'll be 10 degrees, the next it'll be 75 degrees.
Good luck with your decision!

Thanks Rome, have any supporting material (link) that says they are looking that way?
Answer:
This looks good as a whole but there are a few things to take into consideration.
1. Pittsburgh has expressed a huge ammount of intrest in Darelle Revis and he will not slip to the Pats.
2. In that case Polouszny slips to the Bengals and Beason will go to the Patriots as their Linebackers are getting old.
3. Tampa loves Calvin way too much and I personall see them swapping picks with the Lions to insure they get him. Lions will then take Gaines Adams.
4. Joe Staley may go to the Chiefs if you see them taking a lineman, Joe Staley is my personal pick, but they really could use a #1 receiver. Meachum, Bowe, and Ginn all possiblities.
5. I dont know why but teams love to take TE's too ealry so the Pathers or Green Bay may reach for Greg Olsen.
6. The Eagles have no real needs and will go with the best player on the board. So good call there, although they may want to add stability to an injury prone line.
*** Frayne its 3 wideouts in 5 years . . . Mike Williams, Roy Williams, and Charles Rogers. Harrington and Ernie Sims went somewhere in between.
