Questions Possibly Related to Barron, WisconsinProvided By Y! Answers
at what age (In wisconsin)can a child be left alone and for how many hours ? (legally)? Question: my roomates 12-year-old is spending the summer with her grandmother in barron, wisconsin and works at a wal-mart for 8-hour shifts.does she need to hire a babysitter ?
Answer:
I don't think that there is any law, but it should be based on the responsiblity age of the child. My stepdaughter is 13 and I still don't feel comfortable leaving her home alone. However I started baby-sitting on a regular basis when I was 12. I think it should also depend on the area. A good area with little crime, would be different than a not so good area that has had their share of break-ins..
I would just make sure that she is able to take care of the basics by herself - waking up decently, showering, getting dressed, brushing teeth/hair, eating (breakfast and lunch), and easy cooking.
I really think more than anything it's a personal opinion.
