    Portage, Wisconsin Dells, or Baraboo...which place should I move to?

    I am looking to relocate to either Portage, Wisconsin Dells, or Baraboo and was wondering which one would be best. I am 31 and single, so I am looking for something affordable that has shopping (more than just a Wal Mart) and opportunities to meet people. Any advice/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.     Are those your only choices? I've been to all of them and here's my take. (keeping in mind that I'm older that older than dirt) Wisconsin Dells has the most shopping with some big chain stores (Khols, Walmart) and an outlet mall) There is a 'main street' with lots of tourist trap kind of shops (I love tourist trap stuff) and a main drag with a lot of water parks and other vacation attractions. Portage - nice small town feel several local stores as well as a shopping center. Baraboo - has a University of Wisconsin center there so one would expect some college type stuff. There is nice town square shopping as well as some larger more chain store. Circus Museum and if you are into the outdoor the International Crane Foundation is there. They are not all that far apart geographically - I rather like Baraboo myself but Portage and the Dells are closer to the interstate if that is important to you.

    I don't know of leagues in Wisconsin... however, when I moved to San Francisco, I searched the internet and went to soccer stores and asked around.     What are some groups I can join to help fight BSL and Breed discrimination in my area?

    I live in Southern Wisconsin, Baraboo. I would really like to help stop BSL and Breed discrimination, but I have no idea where to begin. What groups are reputable and actually get some thing done? Thankfully my city's law is a good one (two unprovoked attacks and the animal is labled Dangerous and licencing costs an extra $5000 and you have to have a special collar and signs. The animal does NOT have to be destroyed) BUT Pits seem to be the only ones the law is actually enforced on and we recently had an issue with a Pit being labled as dangerous even though there was no witness to the attack (a pet rabbit was mauled in a neighborhood where the Pit lives, no one saw the Pit kill the rabbit) WilloWitch, pardon me if I doubt your credentials. My sister almost lost her eye ... to a Golden Retriever. She was mauled by a neighbors dog while in HER OWN YARD. She spent a week in the hospital and had to have reconstructive surgery.     How is the skiing at Devil's Head Resort.?

    How is the skiing and resort? Is it nice? Do they have good trails? Is it worth to go there? P.S. Its the one just outside Baraboo, Wisconsin.

    For the midwest, Devil's Head is really good. It is pretty much the only "resort" for skiing in the midwest and offers a decent amount of terrain for the midwest. I believe it also has the most vertical. Depending on where you are coming from, I would recommend either Devil's Head or Cascade. Both offer decent terrain (remember this IS midwest skiing) and are worth the drive if you really want to ski. There is a ski area up the UP, past Houghton on the Kewanee?? peninsula that actually gets about 350 inches of snow a year and has been said to have snow as good as colorado and terrain as good as colorado. Unfortunately, it is really far away from just about everyone. For people coming from IL or WI though, I would definately go up to Devil's Head or Cascade if you want to ski. They are definately a step above Wilmot or Alpine Valley. Just don't forget to dress warmly :)

The charge would center around the father not adequately storing and locking his guns.
