I think WVU has an uphill battle in a really good game.
Pitt Defensive Coordinator from last year (who beat WVU) is Auburn's Defensive Coordinator NOW
Auburn will run a NEW TYPE of Spread offense that by this time will have limited video tape.
Its going to be high scoring, and it will be a question of Defensive Stamina Late, as to who wins.
As to the away atmosphere; I only have to say that Florida's SWAMP is a little more intimidating with WVU, and Auburn won there last year with a limited offense. I don't think the location is going to be intimidating. Don't forget Tommy Tubberville is 6 and 1 against the top 5 teams while at Auburn and that includes a few away games.

I am an Auburn fan, so i have full confidence in their chances. However, WVU is one of the toughest teams in the nation, so this game could go either way.

I think this is really going to be a great match-up. I think both teams will be ranked very high this year in the college rankings probably top ten material...West Virginia did excellent last year and Auburn not so much, but Auburn has got some good recruits that will really help their chances in the SEC and in this match-up...West Virginia will probably be the same as they were last year which means another good season for them...with that said, the SEC is no doubt in my mind the best conference in all of college football and even tho West Virginia may have more wins than Auburn at that time Auburn will be way too much for WV to handle.

Who should be #2 in the polls behind Ohio State? Auburn, USC, West Virginia, or Michigan and why?
Answer:
Auburn should be #2 at this point, but seeing that they have a really tough SEC schedule it is doubtful they can remain undefeated. Why they should be #2 is because they have a smothering defense, and an outstanding running game a combo that is very hard to beat. In the end if Ohio State can get past Iowa and their annual showdown with Michigan they should be sitting pretty to play USC for the nat'l championship.

Who should I bet on (West Virginia vs USF)?

The spread is 7 with West Virginia being the favorite. I know USF beat them last year, but I think Auburn was overrated when they beat them, just watch what UF does to them on Saturday. I personally think West Virginia is gonna cover the spread easily, but I could always use some different opinions.

West Virginia Mountianeers Football, Under-rated at #4 in the nation???

after #2 auburn falls to arkansas, and #3 USC struggles for 2 consecutive weeks for their wins, west virginia remains at #4, and drops to #5 in the AP polls (despite the points they put up,while demolishing all opponents thusfar.(most opponents are of weaker strength, hence WVU schedule)...

Where are all of the West Virginia haters now?

You know, the geniuses who said we'd lose to Cincy. And when that didn't happen they said we'd lose to UConn. Please tell me you prognosticators have us losing to Pitt next week too. The same "experts" on here who keep saying we have no defense just because they heard some guy on ESPN say that LAST YEAR. We currently have the #6 total defense in the nation.
And get off West Virginia's "weak" schedule. Before this week, we had the same SOS as Auburn. Our SOS is better than Kansas, Missouri, Ohio State, Arkansas, Virginia Tech, Penn St, Wisconsin, and more. And it's on its way up now that we've beaten a UConn team that had 9 wins, plus we got a strength of schedule boost by all 5 of our non-conference opponents winning today.
PS - Your team wouldn't have a chance at stopping Pat White.
John, I typed that last night. After adding Kansas to the schedule rankings, Missouri's schedule is now ranked 34th in the nation, and West Virginia's is 35th. That's one spot out of 119 teams - pretty much the same.

It seems like everyone in this country is saying that everyone's schedule this year has been weak...it doesn't matter what your non-conference looks like.
By the luck of the draw, WVU will either be #1 or #2 when the polls and the BCS comes out later today. WVU did need the assistance of both LSU and Kansas losing to get there though...so you need to be thanking your lucky stars for their losses too.

Why is USC above Wisconsin and OU in the BCS?

Logically explain to me why USC deserves to be playing in the Rose bowl instead of the Fiesta bowl against Boise State. USC is not a better team than OU or Wisconsin, they are not even the #5 team in the country. They should be below teams like Auburn and West Virginia.

you must have started watching college football two minutes ago or else you would have already known the answer to this question.
in order to play in the rose bowl, the BCS would have to put you there. if the Pac-10 and/or Big 10 champions are available to play, then they will.
since USC won the Pac-10; and since they didn't qualify for the national championship game, they qualified to play in the rose bowl.
but on a side note, you should think twice about running your mouth off on yahoo answers because there will be a lot of people who will embarrass you. just something to think about...

How do you think the 2008 Auburn Tigers will do? Here is how i think it will go down:
Week 1: vs. UL-Monroe (W)
If Auburn doesn't make the same mistake as Bama by overlooking Monroe, it should be a blowout win.
Week 2: vs. Southern Miss (W)
This should be an easy victory for AU.
Week 3: at Mississippi State (W)
If the spread offense is successful by week 3, Auburn should destroy the Bulldogs.
Week 4: vs. LSU (W)
Auburn usually beats LSU when playing at Jordan-Hare. Auburn in a low-scoring thriller.
Week 5: vs. Tennessee (W)
Rocky Top is not what it used to be, but could be a close game.
