Is Bremerton Washington a bad place to live?
    Question:
I am a Navy wife going to be living in Bremerton WA. My husband is going to be leaving soon after i get there. I was just wondering if anyone knew if it was safe. Is the crime rate high? Is my house safe? Am i going to be safe?

    Answer:
The area is safe, but I think Bremerton blows. It is just a little town right outside the base. Basically just shipyard workers and some of the sailors live there. Not much to do. If you want to go to a movie, mall, Walmart, etc then you are driving to another town. I would recommend looking into some of the other towns in the area that have a little more to do, such as Silverdale. As far as safety goes, have no worries the entire area is not very densely populated and has a low crime rate.

does anyone have any good news about bremerton washington weather?
    Question:
My new husband is being transferred there and I have heard nothing but gloomy rainy things about the weather there... I am from Oklahoma and love our hot sunny days... Any advice or promising comments??

    Answer:
I live close by Bremerton. Yes most of everything you heard is true. I HATE grey skys. When I watch the Home and Garden channel I envy people. I am not a fan of hot weather but there is a saying in WA. People don't tan here they rust. Summer is pleasant. It isn't usually too hot. A nice place to see and get records of the weather is http://weather.yahoo.com/forecast/USWA0041.html also check out the records and averages also. My advise is to get the proper rain gear. Water proof your shoes every fall. Please remember that if your not use to lots of rainy driving that the first downpour after it has been dry for awhile is very slick from oil etc on the road. Drive with your head lights on in the day also since it is grey and dark. Well, you are use to snow so you do much better in it than us. LOL. You may get use to it. I hope you do for your sake. Good Luck I wish I could wave a magic wand and have sunshine!

Then call them and ask if your family is there.] Or, you can call the local police department ...if it is an emergency that you reach them(your family) and they will do a searcxh of local hotels for you and either pass on a message to them if they find them or respond back to you if they find them. Anyone live in Bremerton, Washington or there abouts...if so what do you think of it?

    Answer:
I've lived in Poulsbo, WA which isn't far and am currently living in Seattle. The city of Bremerton has been working hard over the last few years to try to re-vamp it to make it nicer. It was pretty run down and full of crime for a long time, but it is improving. It's mostly naval families that live there. If you want somewhere nice to live, I'd suggest Silverdale.

Hi Daria... here's a resource guide for the Kitsap county region, which include upcoming events, restaurants, points of interest..etc: http://www.visitkitsap.com/other/pages_list.asp?id=2 Not knowing what you'd like to do for work is a bit more of a challenge. Many people take the ferries into Seattle to work downtown or the surrounding region. Within the Kitsap region here is a list of companies who have want ads that are looking to hire people: http://www.washjob.com/peninsla.htm

What are the best things that Seattle (and Washington period) has to offer as far as life and employment?
    Question:
I currently live in the state of Michigan, but i'm about to make the jump from here to Seattle, WA (Bremerton, actually). I just want to know what the state of Washington has to offer me. I got an offer from this company called TeleTech to stop in for an assessment when i hit the area so that's a good thing. I'm tired of the rat race in Detroit. Everyone is doing the same thing as everybody else (looking for a good-paying job) and i know i got so much to give and to offer. (the economy sucks). So if there is anyone who lives in Washington, can you tell me about the night spots, coffee spots, tourist attractions any GREAT HIGH-PAYING JOBS, in Washington. I have three college degrees (two Business, one Science) and little experience. What is the Real Estate Market like there? Any good tips on living in Washington?

    Answer:
First and formost welcome to the great state of Washington and state unrivaled in its natural beauty and diversity. Just a quick lesson in geography though Bremerton is not exactly in the metro Seattle area it is on the Kitsap Pennisula. That being said you are a ferry boat ride away (30 minutes) or an hour drive away from Seattle. Bremerton is quickly transforming itself from a blue collar naval town to a livable and viable "suburb" of Seattle believe it or not. If you are into natural beauty and the outdoors Western Washington is the place for you. As far as cultural amenities, you will have to travel to Seattle for a variety of things to do or you can go to Olympia which is closer and a smaller version of Seattle and there is Tacoma which despite its reputation is rapidly improving and has things to visit and see. My advice to you is to go to your nearest book store and purchase a Western Washington handbook or Pacific Northwest handbook and check out all the sites that this region has to offer believe me its much more than rain and coffee. Also check out the Tacoma Tribune, Seattle times, and the Seattle pi.

when will it be 32 degrees in Bremerton, Wa (or anyother place in western washington)?
    Question:
kinda a far out there question, but does anyone know?

    Answer:
The average low in Bremerton goes down to about 35F during the winter months, so it wouldn't be a huge deviation to see the temperature fall below 32. Also, the all-time record low at Bremerton was +7F, recorded in 1990.
