Questions Possibly Related to Baring, WashingtonProvided By Y! Answers
Why did Washington's staff strip the White House bare before John Adams moved in? Question: Why did Washington's staff strip the White House bare before John Adams moved in? I hear that Carter's staff did the same to Reagan.
Okay. I had a feeling that Washington was not in that White House. I was watching "John Adams" last night, and they alluded that the previous tenant stripped the house bare. I wondered why Washington would do that. I read the synopsis for last night's episode (5) on hbo.com today, and it says that Washington's staff did strip the home. I guess you can't believe everything you see on TV.
And Reagn was NOT evil!

Answer:
Washington's staff did not strip the White House bare because Washington never lived in the White House. Construction of the presidential mansion began while Washington was in office, but it was John Adams who was the first president to live in the White House. And the place wasn't even completed when the Adams moved in.

Poetry is in the soul not the learning? Question: You can study all the forms know all the great practitioners and never come close to this by a man who probably couldn't even write.
Yonder sky that has wept tears of compassion upon my people for centuries untold, and which to us appears changeless and eternal, may change. Today is fair. Tomorrow it may be overcast with clouds. My words are like the stars that never change. Whatever Seattle says, the great chief at Washington can rely upon with as much certainty as he can upon the return of the sun or the seasons. The white chief says that Big Chief at Washington sends us greetings of friendship and goodwill. This is kind of him for we know he has little need of our friendship in return. His people are many. They are like the grass that covers vast prairies. My people are few. They resemble the scattering trees of a storm-swept plain. The great, and I presume -- good, White Chief sends us word that he wishes to buy our land but is willing to allow us enough to live comfortably. This indeed appears just, even generous, for the Red Man no longer has rights that he need respect, and the offer may be wise, also, as we are no longer in need of an extensive country.
There was a time when our people covered the land as the waves of a wind-ruffled sea cover its shell-paved floor, but that time long since passed away with the greatness of tribes that are now but a mournful memory. I will not dwell on, nor mourn over, our untimely decay, nor reproach my paleface brothers with hastening it, as we too may have been somewhat to blame.
Youth is impulsive. When our young men grow angry at some real or imaginary wrong, and disfigure their faces with black paint, it denotes that their hearts are black, and that they are often cruel and relentless, and our old men and old women are unable to restrain them. Thus it has ever been. Thus it was when the white man began to push our forefathers ever westward. But let us hope that the hostilities between us may never return. We would have everything to lose and nothing to gain. Revenge by young men is considered gain, even at the cost of their own lives, but old men who stay at home in times of war, and mothers who have sons to lose, know better.
Our good father in Washington--for I presume he is now our father as well as yours, since King George has moved his boundaries further north--our great and good father, I say, sends us word that if we do as he desires he will protect us. His brave warriors will be to us a bristling wall of strength, and his wonderful ships of war will fill our harbors, so that our ancient enemies far to the northward -- the Haidas and Tsimshians -- will cease to frighten our women, children, and old men. Then in reality he will be our father and we his children. But can that ever be? Your God is not our God! Your God loves your people and hates mine! He folds his strong protecting arms lovingly about the paleface and leads him by the hand as a father leads an infant son. But, He has forsaken His Red children, if they really are His. Our God, the Great Spirit, seems also to have forsaken us. Your God makes your people wax stronger every day. Soon they will fill all the land. Our people are ebbing away like a rapidly receding tide that will never return. The white man's God cannot love our people or He would protect them. They seem to be orphans who can look nowhere for help. How then can we be brothers? How can your God become our God and renew our prosperity and awaken in us dreams of returning greatness? If we have a common Heavenly Father He must be partial, for He came to His paleface children. We never saw Him. He gave you laws but had no word for His red children whose teeming multitudes once filled this vast continent as stars fill the firmament. No; we are two distinct races with separate origins and separate destinies. There is little in common between us.
To us the ashes of our ancestors are sacred and their resting place is hallowed ground. You wander far from the graves of your ancestors and seemingly without regret. Your religion was written upon tablets of stone by the iron finger of your God so that you could not forget. The Red Man could never comprehend or remember it. Our religion is the traditions of our ancestors -- the dreams of our old men, given them in solemn hours of the night by the Great Spirit; and the visions of our sachems, and is written in the hearts of our people.
Your dead cease to love you and the land of their nativity as soon as they pass the portals of the tomb and wander away beyond the stars. They are soon forgotten and never return. Our dead never forget this beautiful world that gave them being. They still love its verdant valleys, its murmuring rivers, its magnificent mountains, sequestered vales and verdant lined lakes and bays, and ever yearn in tender fond affection over the lonely hearted living, and often return from the happy hunting ground to visit, guide, console, and comfort them.
Day and night cannot dwell together. The Red Man has ever fled the approach of the White Man, as the morning mist flees before the morning sun. However, your proposition seems fair and I think that my people will accept it and will retire to the reservation you offer them. Then we will dwell apart in peace, for the words of the Great White Chief seem to be the words of nature speaking to my people out of dense darkness.
It matters little where we pass the remnant of our days. They will not be many. The Indian's night promises to be dark. Not a single star of hope hovers above his horizon. Sad-voiced winds moan in the distance. Grim fate seems to be on the Red Man's trail, and wherever he will hear the approaching footsteps of his fell destroyer and prepare stolidly to meet his doom, as does the wounded doe that hears the approaching footsteps of the hunter.
A few more moons, a few more winters, and not one of the descendants of the mighty hosts that once moved over this broad land or lived in happy homes, protected by the Great Spirit, will remain to mourn over the graves of a people once more powerful and hopeful than yours. But why should I mourn at the untimely fate of my people? Tribe follows tribe, and nation follows nation, like the waves of the sea. It is the order of nature, and regret is useless. Your time of decay may be distant, but it will surely come, for even the White Man whose God walked and talked with him as friend to friend, cannot be exempt from the common destiny. We may be brothers after all. We will see.
We will ponder your proposition and when we decide we will let you know. But should we accept it, I here and now make this condition that we will not be denied the privilege without molestation of visiting at any time the tombs of our ancestors, friends, and children. Every part of this soil is sacred in the estimation of my people. Every hillside, every valley, every plain and grove, has been hallowed by some sad or happy event in days long vanished. Even the rocks, which seem to be dumb and dead as the swelter in the sun along the silent shore, thrill with memories of stirring events connected with the lives of my people, and the very dust upon which you now stand responds more lovingly to their footsteps than yours, because it is rich with the blood of our ancestors, and our bare feet are conscious of the sympathetic touch. Our departed braves, fond mothers, glad, happy hearted maidens, and even the little children who lived here and rejoiced here for a brief season, will love these somber solitudes and at eventide they greet shadowy returning spirits. And when the last Red Man shall have perished, and the memory of my tribe shall have become a myth among the White Men, these shores will swarm with the invisible dead of my tribe, and when your children's children think themselves alone in the field, the store, the shop, upon the highway, or in the silence of the pathless woods, they will not be alone. In all the earth there is no place dedicated to solitude. At night when the streets of your cities and villages are silent and you think them deserted, they will throng with the returning hosts that once filled them and still love this beautiful land. The White Man will never be alone.
Let him be just and deal kindly with my people, for the dead are not powerless. Dead, did I say? There is no death, only a change of worlds.
Answer:
You said it brudda! Poetry does indeed reside in the soul, not the mind. One is truly a poet only when intellect and emotion speak with one voice.
I live in the land that this great poet speaks of, south coastal British Columbia, and can understand how he came to speak as he does. The landscape I inhabit is one of mist and infinite shades of green and blue, where edges are blurred and the seasons blend and the ravens still speak with men's voices along the river's edge. There is magic in the forests still even though we scape bare the mountain sides to feed our avarice.
As a young boy I would wander in the woods to a place where the cedars where giants and the forest floor was carpeted with moss so thick and soft it was hard to walk and even in high summer the air was cool, still and dark. I would lay on that bed of moss in the filtered green light and feel safe and happy. Now that so many years have passed I know that what I had was rare and precious and made me the man I am today. Those hours spent alone in the bush with the ancients is a gift that I will keep forever.

How do you effectively explain a billion to the next generation, especially on the topic of taxes? Question: a. A billion seconds ago it was 1959.
b. A billion minutes ago Jesus walked the earth.
c. A billion hours ago our ancestors were living in the stone age.
d. A billion days ago no-one walked the earth on two bare feet.
e. A billion dollars ago was only 8 hours and 20 minutes, at the rate our government is spending it.
While this thought is still fresh in our minds, let's take a look at New Orleans. It's amazing what you can learn with a little simple division..
Louisiana Senator, Mary Landrieu (D), is presently asking Congress for $250,000,000,000 (250 Billion dollars) to rebuild New Orleans. Interesting number, what does it mean?
If you are one of 484,674 residents of New Orleans (every man, woman, and child) you each get $516,528.
If you have one of the 188,251 homes in New Orleans, your home gets $1,329,787.
If you are a family of four, your family gets $2,066,012.
Washington D.C.... Hello!!!.... Are all your calculators broken?!!!
Answer:
OK, you just got my mind working, you have some valid points. Thanx for the reality check.

Answer:
Seems that it is time to scrap New Orleans and save the country a fortune.
I understand that one of the items uncovered when they analyzed that community is that the Mayor hired 700 phantom policemen who regularly received pay even though they did not exist.
Maybe the cancer of the delta should remain defunct until the levees can be properly constructed and until the governing individuals have been replaced with people who are capable and earnest.

I have a Norway mapple tree that is losing it's bark down to the bare wood.? Question: At first the bark was splitting up the side, but recently a large chunk of bark feel off from a high branch. It seems to be a disease or maybe a bug. I've noticed other trees in the neighborhood with similar issues. I live in Washington DC, and our trees take a lot of damage, but I'd like to save this one.
Answer:
You would do well to remove the tree and properly dispose(burn or bury) the remnants. It is very diseased, and Norway Maples are now considered to be invasive. Plant another type of Maple in it's place, plenty are fast growing. Sorry for your loss. You would be smart to contact your local extension center, listed in the blue pages to try and find out what pathogen is causing this, so when and if you plant something new, you'll know what resistancies you'll need.

I am in Seattle area - after I rake out the moss, can I apply lime, fertilizer & overseed all in same week? Question: I have pulled by hand and raked a LOT of moss from my front yard - I haven't even started the back yet - this moss problem is new to me having moved to the Seattle area from the desert area of Eastern Washington. Where the moss has come up has left me w/ major bare spots. From what I have read, I need to add lime to my soil, but what I need to know is if I can do all of the necessary steps - lime, fertilizer, overseed - one right after the other? Don't want to go to all of the expense and work if the seed won't take while the lime is "new" - and is this the time to apply the lime? And what is the best recommendation for grass seed for this area - for the front I need something great for shady areas, as I have 2 huge fir trees hogging the sun. Also, will thatching be an easier way to get this moss up - or a power rake - please share your techniques - I am a novice and struggling with this problem. Thanks to all who can share their experience and give advice.
Answer:
Apply lime ans water it in. Wait a week nd seed. Fertilize after grass is about 2 inches high. When you fertilize use something like Scott's Turf Builder with moss control.

Should the 2nd amendment be taken away? Question: Now that Senator Obama wants to form his own National militia -- is it possible that only the politicians in Washington and government agencies will have the right to bare arms?
The constitution says we the people have the right to form a national militia to protect our freedom from a tyrannical government.
What do you think?
Answer:
it dates from the times of wilderness, indians and all the other aspects of defence appropriate to the u.s. when guns were a necessity those times are long gone and now guns are used to protect citizens from other gun carrying citizens, this is self perpetuating violence and the defence of the population should be left to the police and in international cases the military in the case of major unrest well thats covered by the national guard i think that is as much gun protection as is needed!. we dont need the second amendment anymore we need a 1st sanity amendment !

Well i see the talks are still on for Washington Mutual buyout.? Question: Looks like JP Morgan Chase is wanting to expand business out west in retail banking. Wamu could sell to them because of the debt they are in. Free account offers will probably be no longer offered if Chase takes on. They require direct deposit and do not have half the perks Wamu has. Once the buyout takes effect, if it does, the loss of many customers could occur and that would include me, if they do take away the free checking, free checks, one overdraft free per year and of course the debit rewards. This bares close watching.
Answer:
I haven't seen any news to that effect. JP Morgan was considering an offer, but WaMu received a cash injection from private equity (TPG). So the buyout was taken off the table.

Greasy face? Is makeup causing it? How to help? Details...? Question: I live in a climate sorta like Washington's (cold, cloudy, sometimes warm, can be very hot in summertime), I'm 15, I don't have acne, but SOMETIMES break out in small areas, and have a very oily face. I wear a skin-colored light powder (Neutrogena Healthy Skin Blends in skin-tone shade), a little bit of bare minerals, and sometimes even some clinique blush that i got at the clinique sale. I don't think it's my makeup that's causing my oily face because they are supposedly good brands, and some of them make fash washes! When i leave in the morning, my face looks great, but by time i get home, it's red/blotchy/shiny and greasy. i do own oil blotting films and an extra healthy skin blends in my backpack (it makes the shininess go away) but I don't like to visit the bathroom because i don't have time, it's crowded, and it's embarassing. What are some tips you would reccomend that don't involve "touching up" or "primping" all the time? So probably makeup tips won't help, but MAYBE. thanks!
Answer:
Watch your diet. Eat lots of fruit and vegetables. No boxed food or fast food. Take 1 tsp. flax seed oil everyday to nourish your skin from the inside out. Moisturize! I use this recipe and moisturizing keeps the oil down. 1/2 cup water, 3 tsp. vegetable glycerin and 5 drops lemon essential oil. Use aloe vera as a toner and try a organic cleanser. When you do break out mix 2 drops tea tree oil mixed with aloe vera and it heals really fast. Also try taking vitamin B5 it's been proven to help acne along with tea tree. Here are some links that I found at another question that are really good, homemade and cheap ways to take care of oily skin.

As of right now.. how do u c the eastern and western confrence standings by the end of next season? Question: here is how I see it:
*dont forget that division winners get top 3 seeds(baring a change, this is the worst idea ever!)
Eastern Confrence:
1.New Jersey
2.Miami
3.Cleveland
4.chicago
5.detroit
6.milwaukee
7.washington
8.Indiana
9.Charlotte(will surprise some people!)
10.Orlando
11.philadelphia
13.atlanta
14.NY
15.Bost on (unless they aquire AI!)
Western Confrence:
1.Phoenix
2.dallas
3.utah
4.SA
5.Sacramento
6.Ho uston
7.LA Clippers
8.Memphis
9.Denver
10.LA Lakers
11.New Orlens
12.Seattle
13.Portland
14.GS
15.Minnesota
thats how I see it with the current rosters. but any trades and free agent signings will definitly change my mind!
how do you see it as of right now?
Answer:
First the change already happened. Stern announced that the division winners automatically get a top four ranking in the playoff, but that if the the next best team who didn't win their division (like the Mavericks this season) had a higher record than a team that did win their division, they'd be ranked higher (just the top four, though).
Anyway, here's how I'd rank the conferences:
Eastern Confrence:
(by the way, you forgot #12 in the east and left out the Toronto Raptors)
1. Detroit Pistons - Big Ben was crucial to this team, but it's not like Nazr Mohammed is a bad player. In fact, their offense will be better this season because you can't leave Mohammed alone like you can Ben. Still, losing Big Ben really hurts their defensive foundation. Thank God the east is weak.
2. Cleveland Cavs - I think the Cavs will be fired up. And, if Larry Hughes is healthy it would help them immensely since he would take defensive pressure off James. That being said, with this roster I don't see them being title contenders. They need to make some adjustments.
3. Miami - The Heat don't have many years left with this roster. They won't have the best record because Shaq plays half-assed during the regular season. But, the eastern conference is weak and they'll be good enough to snooze toward the top during the season.
4. New Jersey - Kidd's getting old and even though they have a great perimeter, they haven't made enough moves to show they're really worthy of moving up past the defending champs who embarrassed them in the playoffs.
5. Chicago - First, I think the Bulls will make another move or two. They're young and their offense leaves much to be desired, but they should be the best defensive team in the league next year with the additions of PJ Brown and Big Ben.
6. Washington - They're said to be close to adding Jamaal Magloire and he'll be in a contract year, which means he might have a big year. Also, the trio of Arenas, Jamison and Butler should make even more noise this year.
7. Milwaukee - They say Magloire is practically gone, but I'm not sure Bogut's ready to test the rigors of the center spot. Still, their lineup isn't bad with the addition of Villanueva.
8. Indiana - They're struggling to find a new identity and Jermaine O'Neal needs some help with Peja's departure.
9. Boston - They're alwasy in the mix. Even if they don't get AI, they'll be talented enough to at least compete for a playoff spot.
10. Toronto - The addition of Nesterovic and Ford with a young up and comer in Bargnani gives Raptor fans something to be excited about again.
11. Charlotte - On paper, they look very good. The question is are they ready to take it to the next level yet?
12. Orlando - They're better than people think and Howard should tear it up again.
13. Atlanta - Acquiring Speedy Claxton was a bigger deal than most realize. Also, Marvin Williams should have a better season.
14. New York - They'll improve a little, since players will at least respond more to Isiah, but despite all the talent they have no balance, no toughness and no heart.
15. Philadelphia - Maybe I'm assuming too much, but they say Iverson is all but gone and if he's not gone by the start of the season he will be by the All Star break. I think he might end up not caring if they continue to drag him around so much.
Western Conference:
1.Phoenix - If Amare comes back, they should get the best record.
2. Dallas - Trading Daniels for Croshere was minor, but will help.
3. San Antonio - Duncan's coming off a GREAT playoffs, Ginobili should be healthy again, the backcourt is still young and they're still one of the depest teams in the league. They WILL find a new center, but even if they don't they won't slide past here.
4. Sacramento - Artest has completely turned that team around. Wells is likely gone, but they're still solid up and down.
5. LA Clippers - Cassell has a way of making everyone around him better. I say they'll re-sign him.
6. Memphis - They're always solid during the season but choke during the playoffs. They'll be in the mix again, but expect another first round loss.
7. Utah - Health is a major concern. So is perimeter scoring. The addition of Derek Fisher should give them a boost.
8. Houston - If healthy...or more specifically, if T-Mac and Yao are completely healthy, they're a playoff team. That's a big if though.
9. New Orleans - They've vastly improved this offseason. Acquired a young center in Chandler, two nice draft picks, Peja and Chris Paul should improve.
10. LA Lakers - Kobe showed he could lead this crappy lineup to the playoffs and Radmanovic's shooting will help create mismatches.
11. Denver - Signing Nene to such a huge contract will really hurt them in the long run. They're stuck with K-Mart and they are in desperate need of a shooting guard.
12. Seattle - The Sonics will contend for a playoff team if they can keep Wilcox. If not, it might be more difficult. Very young but VERY talented.
13. Golden State - Who knows what's going on with this team? They're one of the top candidates to possibly land Iverson. If they get him they might move up this list quickly.
14. Minnesota - If KG stays, they'll at least be competitive. The West is much better from top to bottom than the east.
15. Portland - This young team got much younger.
I think it'll be the Heat out of the east and either the Suns, Mavs or Spurs out of the west. The West team will win, IMO.

Do you have the guts to confront the govt? Question: Washington did, why cant you or we? The govt does not work for the people anymore, but for the corporations.
I cant believe how cowards most Americans have become that they don't have the guts to confront the govt like teh founders of this country did.
Guess why did the constitution creator gave us the right to bare arm? and guess why do the actual govt take that right away from you?
You coward. Have started thinking more about your nice looking house than about your country.
shame on those who are willing to be fool and forget about the one that was a great nation.
At the end, the Rockefeller and Bush family will run away with your gold. That is why Bush don't````` `` mention the word "depression" in his speeches. Because the country will go on a big crisis. But the govt wont.
We pay Bush's and his cabinet's salary.
Do something.
Why aren't we as brave as people used to be in the past?
thanks for your answers.
dont check my grammar but my message. Many of the people who fought in the first revolution did not even know how to read. But they have the guts.
Answer:
No matter how bad the government may be, there would be no way people could rebel unless it were the military that did the rebelling in order to establish a military junta.
If we stormed Washington with our six shooters, the Army would soon mow us down. That would be brave maybe, but would be a futile and stupid ;form of suicide.

What do you think of this?? Sounded good right up till "path to citizenship" for lawbreakers!? Question: Popular Change Type Size Napolitano unveils immigration plan

The Arizona Republic

A wall won't solve America's illegal immigration problem. Neither will guest-worker programs.
But a combination of enhanced security plus more visas and other immigration reform could work, Arizona Gov. Janet Napolitano said last week in laying out a seven-point border plan before the National Press Club in Washington, D.C.
Napolitano spokeswoman Jeanine L'Ecuyer called the proposal the governor's "most comprehensive so far" and said it is hoped Congress will take it into account as it considers plans of its own. A measure could come to a vote before the end of the year. advertisement
Napolitano was in Washington for a meeting of the National Governors Association, of which she is chairwoman. But it wasn't pure coincidence that she chose the nation's capital as the backdrop for unveiling her plan.
In doing so, she hoped to break through Beltway misconceptions and stereotypes about border policy - amnesty shouting matches and the like - and discuss the issue in full.
That means talking about the fiscal burdens borne by border states, which pay for everything from the education to incarceration of undocumented immigrants, as well as the economic importance of trade with Mexico and the key role that migrants play in the local workforce.
"Comprehensive immigration (reform) is the only solution to the problem," said freshmen Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, a Democrat whose Arizona district includes a significant stretch of the state's border with Mexico.
But Arizona Republican Party Chairman Randy Pullen called the Napolitano proposal "mainly rhetoric" and said any talk of citizenship for people living in the country illegally is premature until the border is secured.
Napolitano's proposal includes:
• Ground-based radar, aerial drones and improved ports of entry to help secure the nation's nearly 2,000-mile border with Mexico.
• Penalties for employers who knowingly hire undocumented workers and an improved verification system to help them tell the difference.
• A temporary-worker program and path to citizenship for those living and working in the country illegally. Citizenship would be dependent on paying a fine, learning English, working, paying taxes and staying out of trouble.
"Right now, we're stuck with a 19th-century, Ellis Island-style visa system that doesn't work," said Todd Sanders, government-affairs director for the Phoenix Chamber of Commerce. "It encourages people to go around the system.
"Our country and state is basically at full employment right now. We need to have a reliable workforce."
It now takes more than six years for the Mexican-born spouse of a U.S. resident to get a permanent resident visa, according to the Western Governors' Association.
Napolitano's immigration plan aligns with an association proposal drafted last year by Napolitano and Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman, a Republican. It was unanimously supported by the governors of the 19 Western Governors' states and three Pacific islands.
And President Bush has backed immigration reform that more closely follows the sort called for by Napolitano.
But there hardly is consensus on the issue.
Any call for a path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants is sure to meet resistance from those who favor a hard-line, secure-the-border-first approach to illegal immigration.
"We need to get control of the border now," Pullen said. Without that, talk of legal status for undocumented immigrants will just spur more border crossings, he added.
On the opposing side are migrant advocates, such as Hector Yturralde, who worry that Congress will pass immigration reform that's too cumbersome and complicated.
A path to citizenship would be great, he said, but how can a migrant earning bare wages afford to pay a fine? And where will they learn English in states like Arizona, where voters have banned undocumented immigrants from government-subsidized classes?
"The logical thing to do is make this an easy pathway for workers to come in and be productive," said Yturralde, treasurer of the Phoenix immigrant rights group We Are America. "I hope they come up with something that's fair and something that's practical."
Answer:
Way too complicated.
Seal the borders and enforce the laws already on the books. Employer sanctions have been arounf for a long time. Deport all illegal aliens upon discovery. Send the National Guard into all sanctuary cities. If you are going to brag that 50% of your population is illegal that constitutes probable cause and expect to have 50% of your population deported.
Interpret the 14th amendment the way it's authors intended for it to be interpreted...ie birthright citizenship is a myth..always has been. That means all of those little anchor babies get to go home with mom and dad. Do away with all the freebies and they will go home all by themselves. They will self deport.

Is the health care system in need of reform or is it just politicians posturing for the 2008 Presidential race Question: Email This Page To A Friend Print This Page
Suddenly, the hot potato of health care reform is being grabbed with bare hands by lawmakers of every political stripe and by coalitions of employers, unions, insurers, and medical and consumer groups that have rarely seen eye to eye on the issue.
Now, after half a century of failed attempts, the momentum toward universal health coverage—within states or nationwide, through public or private systems or a combination of both—has surged onto the national stage, having recently percolated up from the states.
In particular, the bold actions taken by Massachusetts, Vermont and California—states with Democratic-controlled legislatures and Republican governors—are leading a groundswell for change. California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger has proposed extending coverage to the 20 percent of residents who now lack insurance. The plan requires residents to get health insurance and employers to provide coverage for workers or else contribute to the cost of covering the uninsured. It caps administrative spending by insurers, raises payments to hospitals and doctors and imposes a new tax on them. Massachusetts is grappling with the realities of a similar, though less ambitious, law enacted last year under then-Gov. Mitt Romney.
The new mood for reform is coming from employers and state governments struggling under rising health care costs; from policymakers wanting to replace the fragmented system with a unified one that covers everybody; and from the uninsured, a group that now approaches 47 million.
But there is another group that eventually may exert a more powerful impact on the debate: people who have coverage but sense that it's dangling by a fraying thread.
"The core motivation [for reform] is that for the last few years health insurance premiums have been going up faster than earnings," says Paul Ginsburg, president of the Washington-based Center for Studying Health System Change. "That means there are a lot of people who have insurance but feel vulnerable to losing it."
Answer:
Yes - the American citizens are being duped again and again, it simply doesn't or will not end. The lack of concern or compassion from our lawmakers and State leaders is visually overwhelming. Sadly, a vast majority of elderly and disabled are being subjected to pay the high cost of health-care coverage and for their medication to help them go about normally. They will often end up in food pantry's, bin diving, or other charitable source to get help for food and other household items. These items cannot be brought with the monthly payment they get from Social Security and/or retirement, due to healthcare monthly payments and medication.
Isn't it sad when they have worked their whole life to experience such a hardship, that can and has be shown to destroy ones life financially, mentally, and physically because of the pressures and hardship. Not to forget to mention that a lot of people has been disqualified by going over five or ten dollars in their monthly income. Now how pathetic can a government agency get.

How do you view Jesus? Is He a formidable judge or a meek victim or even, both? Question: Use this as an example in making your decision: There's a colossal mosaic, 3,600 sq.ft. dominating the altar of the church at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate in Washington, DC. It shows Jesus with bare muscular bare arms & fierce frightening blue eyes. This mosaic of Jesus violates the canons of the greeting card industry. Jesus was soft & tender in His First Coming as a human. With the Second Coming, the gloves will be off, and then its no more Mr. Nice Guy. Is this so? Didin't He vent His wrath on wicked men at His First Coming? Which image of Jesus should we and would you, contemplate?
Answer:
Jesus came to teach love and the law the first time. Yes, He chastised the Pharisees and the temple mongers, but, any father has to chastise their children at some time. Mostly, He taught Love, respect and belief in an afterlife with no pain and no suffering for just believing in Him How easy it is. However, when He comes again, it will be to take vengeance on those who care nothing about the huge sacrifice He made for all of us being humiliated and tortured and eventually crucified. So, I believe in both. I have accepted the Peace Jesus in my Heart and I am just so glad I don't have to be around when He decides to take his wrath out on those who mock him and don't believe. Hope this helps. Thanks for asking, and have a Super Day!! :)
