    City Description

    Bedford is an independent city located within the confines of Bedford County in the U.S. state of Virginia. It serves as the county seat of Bedford County. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 6,299. The Bureau of Economic Analysis combines the city of Bedford with surrounding Bedford county for statistical purposes. It is part of the Lynchburg Metropolitan Statistical Area. Bedford is home to the National D-Day Memorial. (despite the "National" in its name, the memorial is owned and operated by a Non-governmental, non-profit, education foundation). The United States Congress warranted that this memorial would be the nation's D-Day Memorial and President Bill Clinton authorized this effort in September 1996. President George W. Bush dedicated this memorial as the nation's D-Day memorial on June 6, 2001. Bedford lost more residents per capita in the Normandy landings than any other American community. Nineteen soldiers from Bedford, whose 1944 population was about 3,200, were killed on D-Day. Three other Bedford soldiers died later in the Normandy campaign.     Why is my house filled with lady bugs?

    We just bought a vacation house in Bedford Virginia, and it is full of lady bugs, living and dead. They're in every room, in every curtain, in every corner. Whats attracting them, and how can I get them to go away?

    several years ago a species of ladybugs from japan were introduced into the southeast US to eat aphids off of crops, especially pecan trees. they were a sort of natural pesticide. the population exploded. evidently there were plenty of aphids to consume. (aphids are a small insect pest of crops, and the main food of ladybugs). the new ladybugs get into houses or other buildings to spend the winter. the local ladybugs winter in the bark of trees or in other natural settings. a spraying by a pest control service will kill them. or you can buy the spray and do it yourself. it would also help to seal up any crack in the building to prevent their entry.

    Depending on the thickness of the pig, I would say slow cook on a charcoal/hickory grill for about 10-12 hours at around 250 degrees. Im originally from Southside virginia so cooking pork is my fortee'. haha. I cook long cut pork shoulders at about 200-225 degree for about 9 hours. but considering a whole pig that has more mass, you need to increase that.     Not only social security, but schools and health care services are also being used by illegal aliens. They have no right to school or medical care if they are here illegally. They are breaking the law and they should be put in jail and then sent back to Mexico. Why should people who break the law be given any kind of reward or should be allowed to use any government benefits. I see all these rallies on t.v and they are all saying how they are Americans, but they are not Americans at all, they are law breakers and should pay like anyone else. I'm sorry that Mexico is so messed up, but it is not the job of the United states to help you out.
