City DescriptionDraper is a city in Salt Lake and Utah Counties in the U.S. state of Utah, located about 20 miles (32 km) south of Salt Lake City along the Wasatch Front. Between 1990 and 2000 Draper was Utah's fastest-growing city over 5,000 people (as of 2000). Its population in 1990 was 7,143 and had grown to 25,220 by the 2000 census.
Draper is part of two metropolitan areas - the Salt Lake County portion is included in the Salt Lake City metropolitan area, while the Utah County portion is part of the Provo-Orem metropolitan area.
The Utah State Prison is located in Draper, near Point of the Mountain (alongside Interstate 15). The execution of Gary Gilmore took place here on January 24, 1977.
The winds on Traverse Ridge make it one of the world's best hang-gliding spots.
In 2004, Draper citizens voted for a tax increase that would pay for the purchase of key pieces of property in the Corner Canyon area. The aim of this measure was to protect and preserve the Corner Canyon area for the future enjoyment of citizens of the city and the Salt Lake Valley area. In the fall of 2005, 1,021 acres (4.13 km) of property were identified and purchased for the development of Corner Canyon Regional Park, ... Read MoreCity Contained By:- Utah

Where can a 14-year old work in Sandy or Draper, Utah? Question: I won't be 15 until this August, and I'm in desperate need of a summer job. I heard that some local employers will employ 14-year olds, and I have a short list of stores, but I was wondering if there are anymore.
I was also wondering if the store Justice for Girls employs 14-year olds. I heard that they do, but I'm not completely sure.
Thank you.
Answer:
i think that would be going against child labor laws to hire a 14 year old.
Try mowing lawns, or babysitting.

What is Draper, Utah like? Question: I might be moving there--and I am from the South! Is religion a big deal there? I heard that LDS rule the area and if I am not LDS, it will be hard for me and my family to make friends. Anything about the area would be great!!
Answer:
Okay, Yes Utah is a majority Mormon religion state but you will find out that not everyone goes to church and even those that do are really friendly. Draper is absolutley wonderfull. I grew up in Riverton/Draper area. LDS people like to try and get everyone converted to their religion and get you to come to Sunday church but you will never be looked down upon if you do not join their religion. I was babtised in the mormon church but I have never been a church goer. Most people are like me in that aspect. I hope this helps you relax about the situation, trust me when I say that Utah is a wonderfull place to live and raise a family. The Draper area is especially nice. I am a 36 year old married man with three kids. You may e mail me anytime with any more question or concerns that you may have. I really think that you will like it here. Don't listen to the BS about Utah. People who have not even been her before will tell you negative things about it but I have lived here for 36 years and I have visited dozens of other states and there is no place that I would rather be.

Draper, Utah, if you are not LDS is it hard to live there?
Answer:
No it is not. I live just about 2 miles West of Draper in Riverton, Utah and most horror stories about not being LDS are not true. There are many of us liberal partiers in Utah. When the church comes a knockin, just tell them "Not interested". Draper is right up by the mountain side and is one of the nicest towns in the state (my wife's parents live there). I used to live in the town of Lehi which is closer to Provo and that is where the LDS influence is big, but even there we were not looked down upon for not being LDS church goers. Don't worry, Utah is an awesome place to live if that's what you are asking. I hate the stereotype that if you are not LDS that you cannot live here, that's total bull sh*t. Take it from someone who has lived here all my life, it's wonderful. You will notice that I have answered all four of your Utah questions that you have asked on here, feel free to send me an e-mail at gobronco26@yahoo.com if you want to ask me more.

UTAH--ANY Ideas on living there? Question: What is Utah like? Around Sandy or Draper? Are people friendly? Openminded?

From Utah to Wisconsin!? Question: Oh, dear! I moved from Texas to Utah at age six, and now, when I'm nearly 13, my parents want me to move again...to Wisconsin! Will someone please help me? I've moved 5 times, so I should be experienced, but I love Draper, UT more than any other place in the world! I'm a nervous wreck, and I need someone's assistance!
Answer:
I'm afraid I can't really help you with this. I like Utah, also - I live in West Valley and I'd hate to move away from here, from my work and all the friends I've made. But I also have a lot of family in Wisconsin and it's really a beautful place. It will be hard at first, but you will learn to like it there, and you will make new friends. Good luck. You'll be just fine.

Honest Man Returns Mistaken 2 Million Check? Question: Now be honest ...would you return this check if you thought you would get away with it?
There are probably a million ways Jerry Mika could spend 2 million dollars. Trouble is, he couldn't cash the check. Expecting a 15dollar refund from the Utah Department of Commerce, the Draper man opened his mail recently to find a $2,245,342 check
Answer:
I have to be completely honest and say that if i thought i would get away with it , yes I would keep it, but with a check it,s almost impossible.
