Questions Possibly Related to Cleveland, UtahProvided By Y! Answers
If Cleveland plays Utah in the NBA Finals, does hell freeze over? Question: I mean no disrespect to the Cavs or Jazz, I just mean this year we've already witnessed one of the biggest upsets in NBA playoff history (New Jersey over Toronto). How much more could go on??? Cleveland has a shot at the finals, as does Utah. But what are the odds of both of them pulling it off??
Answer:
I rather watch Pistons vrs. Spurs a rematch of a couple of years ago. Both have great teams and good coaching. Both have a grade A Back Court with Rip and Chauncy, but Spurs have Tony Parker and Monu Ginobli. Both have a grade A front Court with Resheed, Chris Webber, Nazi Mohammed, and Jason Maxiell. But how much can they handle from TIm Duncan?? Cavs vrs Utah....umm cant say much............

Phoenix, Utah, Cleveland, Indiana, New Jersey, L.A. Clippers...? Question: Phoenix, Utah, Cleveland, Indiana, New Jersey, L.A. Clippers, Minnesota, Denver (among others) have never won NBA Titles.
Why? Besides the obvious fact that they are all smaller market teams.
Paul
Very teams outside of the Top 15 in market size have ever won an NBA Championship. Look it up. It's a fact. Rare exceptions: San Antonio (#29) and Milwaukee (#36).
Paul
Answer:
because they didn't score enough points.

how did carlos boozer end to utah from cleveland?
Answer:
He pulled an "Elton Brand".
Basically he had a "player option" in his contract. So he agreed that if the Cavs would make him a unrestricted free agent, letting him out of his then current contract, he would sign a long term deal with them, he gave his word to the Cavs. Once he opted out he bolted for Utah and their six-year, $68 million deal.

planning road trip from cleveland ohio to west coast, utah, grand canyon, carlsbad caverns and down to florida Question: looking for suggestions on routes, lodging, food, attractions, safety advice/concerns, weather, any other suggestions are greatly appreciated. please advise accordingly
Answer:
I have done lots of road trips and can give you a few pointers. But I don't know how Florida fits into the plan since its not on the west coast. Since you have not said how long you have to complete the travel or what specific sites you want to see, here's what I suggest.
First, I suggest taking I-80 to Toledo and pick up I-75 South and take that to I-70 in Dayton. Then follow I-70 all of the way to I-15 in Utah. I-70 pprovides more opportunities for sights than does I-80. On I-70 you will have the opportunity to stop and see the Gateway Arch in St Louis, Mo and you will go through Denver. You can tour Denver is you want or just head on west. You go over some very high mountain passes and see some great scenery, particularly in Glenn Canyon, Co which I-70 goes right through. After you cross the Colorado/Utah border you can turn off at Crescent Junction, RT-191, which goes to Moab, Utah, but also allows you to visit Arches National Park and Canyonland National Park. There are a good number of hotels in Moab but you need to reserve well before your trip.
After you leave these parks go back to I-70 and head west again. Be sure that you have a full tank of gas because there are few gas station and there is one stretch of road with a sign saying "no services next 100 miles" and they mean it.
Just before you get to the end of I-70 in a small town called Sevier, turn off onto RT-89 south. This route will take you in short order to Bryce Canyon National Park. After touring Bryce, go back to RT-89 and go south again until you get to Mt Carmal Junction at RT-9. Go east on Rt-9 into Zion National Park. Zion is a drive through park and if you do you will end up at I-15 and can go south to Las Vegas, Nv.
The other option is to return out of the park on RT-9 back to RT-89 and go south and head toward Page, Arizona, continue on RT-89 all the way to where it junctions with RT-64. Then take RT-64 East into the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. (now if you want and have the time you can also go first to the North Rim Grand Canyon by taking an exit off of RT-89; but I would not suggest doing both).
Rt-64 will take you into the Grand Canyon's East Gate but you will see some great scenery that you would not see is you visited through the South Gate.
When you leave the Canyon, via RT-64 south you will drive about an hour to Willaims, Az where you pick up I-40. Then there are more options. If you want to go to Las Vegas you take I-40 west to Kingman, Az and pick up RT-93 north to Vegas. After Vegas you can head on west to California (west coast), if that's what you want, on I-15 into LA.
After/from LA you will need to pick up I-10 east to get to the turnoff for Carlsbad Caverns. There will be some additional parks along I-10 that you may want to stop at. You can get off of I-10 in El Paso, Tx onto RT-62/180 which will take you to Carlsbad Caverns. Then go on to Carlsbad City and pick up RT-285 which will take you back to I-10 east. Then you have a looooooooong drive to get to Florida.
Now I have been to all of the parks that I mentioned , plus some others along the route, and have thus driven the roads/routes that I mentioned. The roads are good even though they are mostly (except the Interstates) just two lanes paved. The secondary routes do not have many gas stations, eating places and rest stops are pretty much non-existence.
So here are some tips:
- Plan your route and then break up your driving according to how many hours you plan/want to drive each day. Many times you may have to stop for the night where the motel is rather than after you have driven your (for example) 700 miles for the day.
- Plan where you will stop for gasoline because opportunities are few and far between and many times there is only one choice. So if you plan to use an Exxon or Shell card you may not find a station and have to spend cash for whatever is available.
- make motel reservations because many places have few and they do book up. You cannot just roll in at 8:00 PM and be sure of being able to check in.
- We always took a cooler stocked with soft drinks and water and also with condiments and utensils for fixing sandwiches and salads. Buy fruit, lunch meats and bags of salad; bring your own dressing. Go to a dollar store and get some cheap plastic bowls for salad and plastic forks; bring along plenty of zip lock bags. We restocked our cooler in the larger cities where we could find a grocery store or a Wal-Mart. Use rest areas for lunch; take a large towel or table cloth and hand wipes and/or hand sanitizers.
- weather should not be an issue; it will be hot if you are going in the summer.

Utah and Cleveland? Question: If Boozer would have stayed in Cleveland (he wanted to be the star) Would Cleveland be the favorite to win it all?
Answer:
I have a pretty good feeling we will beat New Jersey and all we have to do is beat the Pistons which Cleveland CAN do I don't care what anybody says. For SOME people Cleveland is the favorite right now in the East, even hough most think the Pistons are. I don't know if Carlos Loozer (not a typo) would have improved our team, he is statisticall better than Drew but IDK if he would have made team chemistrey as good

And then there were four: Detroit, Cleveland, San Antonio, and Utah?? Question: It's very possible we could see a rematch between the Spurs and Pistons this year in the finals. The last time, it went seven games, and the Spurs prevailed. Then there is the outside chance that the Cavs or Jazz could crash David Stern's party...errr...I mean, the NBA finals. I'll be rooting for the underdogs in each series, but I won't be making any bets in Vegas.
Thoughts on the conference finals??
What you would like to see happen, and what you think will happen.
Answer:
The probability of Cavs-Jazz in finals is 1:1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000......more zeros. Just tired of typing it.

Boston vs Cleveland and L.A. vs Utah? Question: Iight. What do you have as the score of the game tonight, and why?
Who wins, how close will it be? Will lebron take control and heat up? Or will pierce and allen make a stand? Lebron has been steadily improving, but with pierce and allen there is almost no reason to believe they will improve... will the cavs come within 8? I'm getting that spread from one of my friends...
no biased answers please thank you!!!
Also what will happen with L.A. and Utah? What will the score be there? Can boozer beast it up away, and will kobes minor injury still be a problem?
MAKE SURE YOU SAY WHAT YOU THINK THE SCORE IS.
I have cleveland with 9.0 spread and L.A. - 8.5
Answer:
Cleveland. LeBron will be let lose and hit over 60 percent of his three point attempts. Cavs win by six.
Cavs-101
Celtics-95
Lakers. Kobe will have 45 points but they will beat the Jazz in over time by two points.
Lakers-109
Jazz-107

Two Part Question: 1) Can Utah come close to Beating Spurs 2) How intense would a Piston-Spurs Finals be? Question: I dont think Cleveland is deep enough to beat either Utah or Spurs (or Detroit for that matter), and since i was hoping for a Phoenix/Golden State West Final (as unlikely as it would have been) i now want the pistons to win it all. Pitting the best defense in the league against the most skilled starting 5 and hte most balanced team in the NBA would be an AWESOME series.
Thoughts?
Answer:
i think the pistons can continue winning as long as they want to honestly. kevin nash will need to join the spurs along with kobe bryant if the spurs expect to win. now of course anything can happen in any given series we saw the bulls win a few games against the pistons despite being huge under dogs, but, the pistons can only beat themselves if you ask me.
on the other hand. i don't think utah has much of a prayer. though no team should be taken lightly, i would expect the spurs to beat up on the jazz

How low will the ratings be? Question: Will these conference finals have the lowest ratings in NBA history?
Detroit against Cleveland
Utah against San Antonio
Wow, how boring is that?
Answer:
I'll admit it won't be as exciting as the Spurs-Suns Series. That was IT.

How can Cleveland fans possibly think that the Cavs will beat the Spurs?? Question: Have they not been watching the playoffs??
The three-time NBA champion Spurs demolished three team in Denver, Phoenix, and Utah that are in the same league as Cleveland.
They are loaded with savvy, veteran players, and a deep bench.
They boast three all star caliber players, one of the leagues best coaches, and have home court advantage. And if that isn't enough, they've had time to both rest, and prepare for the Cavs.
The Cavs have nothing going for them. They have no one who can guard Duncan inside. They have no one who can stop Parker from penetrating to the basket. With Hughes hurt, they have no one to handle Ginobili. Bowen will be hounding LeBron, when there not doubling or triple teaming him, to force the ball out of his hands. They aren't going to let him drive to the basket, time after time, like Detroit did. James will have to settle primarily for outside shots. His free throwing shooting late in games, is also a big detriment for the Cavs. They just have no shot.
So what if the Cavs won against the Spurs during the regular season.
So far I haven't heard any valid reason from Cavs fans why they think there team will win.
P.S. I'm not a Spurs fan. They beat my team in the playoffs already.
Answer:
The city of Cleaveland has had its heart broken many, many times. Several dramatic sports moments — Red Right 88, The Catch, The Drive, The Shot, and The Fumble — happened at the expense of Cleveland teams. If my city's last sports championship was in 1964, I would be looking for light at the end of the tunnel too.

Who do you think is going to win the NBA Finals? Question: detroit, cleveland, utah, or san antonio?
Answer:
It's a toss up between the Pistons and the Spurs. Utah and Cleveland are talented but they are missing the experience and years of playing together. I am not a fan of all 4 teams, but it will be fun watching Pistons and Spurs play which can end up being decided on 6 or 7 games. Spurs can wipe out Cleveland in 4 or 5 games and Pistons can wipe out Utah in 4 or 5 games.
|
Who do you want and who do you think will be in the NBA finals? Question: i really think that this is going to be a san antonio vs. detroit nba finals, but i really want a new champ this year. i prefer utah vs. cleveland in the nba finals, but highly undoubtly.
Answer:
i want it to be cleveland and jazz in the finals because neither have won a championship and cleveland hasnt even been in the finals.
i think it will be pistons and spurs, unless the pistons mess up and the cavs face the spurs in the finals. then the cavs have a chance to win it all because they are 2-0 against the spurs in the regular season and the cavs coach mike brown knows how to beat the spurs so then the cavs have a chance to win it all.
otherwise, i agree with you 100%.

wasup wit clev, san an and utah steppin up at home...drastically? Question: im watchin the cavs - bos game3 and its really weird how the cavs have stepped up making boston look average after boston made them look like well... how they shouldve made atlanta look.
im jus wonderin how utah, san antonio & cleveland have come back strong after being destroyed by LA, N.O and boston. how much of a difference does a home-crowd make to your game? i mean the cavs are up by more than 15 to start the 2nd. in the 1st two games they were destroyed by boston. how have they turned it around completely in just a few days??
same with utah and san antonio. why cant they play like that on the road? why is it when they're back home where they 'realize' they're in the playoffs? they 'realize' they have to play? why couldnt they jus do that in the game2's.??
Answer:
Nothing like home cooking, right?

Should Elton Brand and Carlos Boozer become BFFs right now? Question: After how Boozer boned out of Cleveland for Utah, Brand does the same, abandoning L.A. for Philly.
I think Brand and Boozer would become the best of friends, even better than Shaq and Kobe.
I would love to see the two of those guys play Stab-the-Back and see who's better. It would be an ESPN Classic.
Answer:
they should be bffs and make a beer label together called "Boozer Brand" :p

is anyone interested in bringing dee brown to cleveland? Question: i here that dee brown may be out i utah with the signing of ronnie price any of you cavaliers fans be willing to give him a chance in cleveland
Answer:
I don't think the Cavs are going to take him. They already got a young PG in Daniel Gibson. What they really need is a veteran PG, someone like Mike Bibby to help Lebron out.

Is Deron Williams the most under rated guard in the NBA? Question: His stats are amazing. His last second finishing off of Cleveland last night is a classic example. He personally took Utah to the Western Conference finals last season. Yet being from a small market, no one notices.
Answer:
To me his not underrated, Steven A. Smith even gives him props (I hope u know who that is) to me his the top 3 point guard in the NBA. Quick, great body movement, good shot, can hit the trey, and besides Boozer his the leader when Boozer can't deliver.
If those too can stay together the Jazz regardless we'll have a 47 to 55 win club, w/added addition's to the roster.
They kinda remind me of Stockton and Malone. But its going to take a while until these 2 get on their level
