City DescriptionArcola is a city in Fort Bend County, Texas. The population was 1,048 at the 2000 census. Arcola is part of the Houston Metropolitan Area.

Arcola is located at 29°30′5″N, 95°27′50″W (29.501339, -95.463760).
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 1.9 square miles (4.9 km²), all of it land.
As of the census of 2000, there were 1,048 people, 295 households, and 233 families residing in the city. The population density was 548.5 people per square mile (211.9/km²). There were 324 housing units at an average density of 169.6/sq mi (65.5/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 34.26% White, 34.16% African American, 0.38% Native American, 2.19% Asian, 27.10% from other races, and 1.91% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 51.91% of the population.
There were 295 households out of which 46.1% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 56.6% were married couples living together, 18.6% had a female householder with no husband present, and 20.7% were non-families. 16.6% of all households were made up of individuals and 6.4% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
