Allen, Texas? Question: does anybody know what there's to do in allen on a saturday night besides go muddin and get drunk at the lake?

i just moved to allen, texas and i need to find a home schooling web site that will fit my area? Question: i am curently in the 12 grade. The school districts will not let me in high school here because of my last schools curriculum.
Some of the classes i took in California seem to not count here in texas's school curriculum as credits.
I am searching for homeschooling but i cant really find what i am looking for. I live in Allen, Texas and if you can help by recomending a site that would be great.
Thank you
Answer:
Were you in a private school? Or did your public school credits not transfer in? Most generally, the transcript needs to be accredited and "approved" by the TEA (Texas Education Agency), and not all private schools are accredited and nearly none are "approved" by the TEA, so that may be the problem you are facing.
If you want to finish out your highschooling without losing any credits, you can either enroll in a private school, or homeschool.
Look at what you have already (request a transcript from your former school), then decide what you want to finish it out. You can use your four year plan from CA as a guide or you can use a recommended diploma program for TX as a guide, or you can use your own educational wants and desires as a guide.
When finished, have your mom generate a transcript and diploma and you are finished.
I know how tough the districts are in Texas, I live in the worst district in the state.
As far as finding homeschool groups in your area, Frisco HIS is a bit out of your way, these are much closer to you:
marchgroup.org
peachonline.org
pathco-op.org
And an informational group that offers graduation ceremonies plus many other services is NTHEN.org

What preschool in Allen, Texas do you recommend? And why would you recommend it? Question: Also let me know if it was attended by your own children. If not, why would you recommend it? Who do you know that attended it?
Answer:
This sounds to me like something you need to trust your own judgment on. Call your local elementary school, social service agencies, and churches and make a list of the programs they tell you about. Then call those programs and ask what license they have and what credentials their teachers have. Ask what kind of schedule the children follow to make sure the schedule includes both structured and unstructured activities. Observe a class in progress, and try to talk to some of the parents if you can. Then when you have chosen a program, plan to volunteer a little time in the classroom. That way you can see firsthand what your child is experiencing. An involved parent is a child's best insurance for a great educational experience.

If your new job was in Allen, Texas what city and area would you live and why? Question: If you were moving from Southern California and wanted good school and nice neighborhood.
Answer:
Depending on what you are looking for, I'd move to Lucas or Parker. These are very small cities just to the east of Allen and have a 'country' feel. Allen isn't that bad but it growing quickly. Take a look at Ebby Halliday's website (a local realtor but has info on all houses) and look at Parker, Lucas and Fairview.
I prefer east of 75 because the houses are older and the neighborhoods are more settled. I have built several houses but I prefer 'used' houses--better bargains and better neighborhoods.

how bad do tornadoes get in allen texas? Question: meow.
my friend's mom said that in the 30 years she's lived here, there's been only like one tornado and it hit a shopping center thing and all it did was knock down a few fences...?
Answer:
The town of Allen by itself has seen only one tornado between 1950 and 2006. It was an F0 rated tornado on March 17, 1987. However, in the county of Collin (where Allen is located), there have been 40 other tornadoes reported in those year. A few of them were significant with an F3 rating. Most of them were weak with a rating of only F0 or F1.
The last tornado to hit your county was an F3 on May 9, 2006. It caused three fatalities and ten injuries unfortunately.
Being in Tornado Alley, you must always be prepared for a tornado to strike. Especially in the spring months when they are most common in your area. It is better to be safe than sorry.

Has anyone worked with TX Southwest Business Solutions in Allen, Texas? Question: I want anyone looking for a commerical loan to stay away from this company. TX Southwest Business Solutions in Allen, TX is run by Richard and Maria Orozco (214-715-2777). They are loan sharks, who pose as commercial wholesale lenders who ask for $500 deposit -- and say (in the application) they will return your deposit if they cannot secure a business line of credit. They are referred business by other wholesale lenders in Texas and Colorado -- if you work with Maritime Commercial or anyone else, ask them FIRST to whom they refer business, if at all.
I have filed complaints with the BBB of Greater Dallas, FTC, and Consumer Protection Agency. They have not responded to multiple attempts by the BBB. Now, I am filing with the State Attorney General and State Office of Consumer Affairs.
Don't let these people delay the start of your business or run away with your money.
Answer:
Good to know. Thank you for passing on the information. As if it's not hard enough to start your own business, to have dishonest people posing as legitimate is despicable. Good luck in your pursuits!

are there Any REAL jobs in ALLEN TEXAS AREA at age 14?
Answer:
At your age you are going to find it very difficult to find employment but many areas do offer summer teen employment doing things like cleaning up parks or working as teen staff at summer day camp programs. It would also be a good option to inquire about doing some volunteer work to gain some experience and be ready when you become old enough to find "real" work.
Last of all, don't try and grow up too fast. I think you will find that your parents would probably be more willing to "support your lifestyle" if you work on good grades and other activities.
