Questions Possibly Related to Aledo, TexasProvided By Y! Answers
Does anyone know anything about Aledo Texas? Question: We are concidering moving there and I just wanted some insight before hand! Any info will help! Do they have good schools, children's activities, sports programs for the kids? Are the parents involved? Is it a safe place to live? Is it still safe to trick or treat in your neighborhood? Do people decorate for Christmas? Coming from a small town these things are important to us! Please don't google Aledo for your answer... I can and have already done this. I really want to hear from the people who live there!
I am already a football loving Texan! I live on the Gulf Coast. I live in a REALLY small town. The population here is barely over 100! As of now, I am 30 minutes from the nearest grocery store, Walmart and mall. I asked the goofy decorating question because a lot of bigger places in this area have stopped decorating because of theft and damage to the decorations. Do you know if they have a grocery store? I would love to buy ice cream and bring it home BEFORE it melts!! : )
Answer:
Well I'm not from Aledo but I lived in Fort Worth and was in Aledo a few times, it's a small town, so it's probably no different than the town you are coming from well maybe the biggest difference will be that Aledo is in Texas so if you don't like football, start liking it and you better be supporting the Bearcats! It's a really small town, no McDonald's or Walmart in Aledo. The downtown area is really old, and it's a quiet area and not too far from Fort Worth so it's certainly safer than living in the big city. Like anywhere in North America, obviously people decorate for Christmas.
If you want to get a glimpse of what it's like, Google Street view has imagery through pat of the town
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&time=&date=& ttype=&q=Aledo,+TX&ie=UTF8&ll=32.709889,-97.607346&spn=0.09013,0. 21595&z=13&om=0&layer=c&cbll=32.702378,-97.632408
There really isn't any large chain stores in the town at all, you would have to drive to Hudson Oaks, Weatherford or into Fort Worth to find a grocery store. Last time I was in Aledo there was a small abanonded retail plaza so maybe they have opened a store there, but I'm not sure.

How good are Aledo ISD, or Azle ISD in North Texas?
Answer:
Aledo ISD is rated "Exemplary". However, I can tell you from personal experience that they teach the tests, not actual subject matter.
I don't know if you are looking for a special ed program, but if you are, avoid Aledo ISD.
I moved to Texas having already taken my SATs. When my Aledo High School counselor informed me that I would have to take the high school exit exam (though not the TASP, the exam that would allow me to receive college credit in high school), the counselor informed me that I would not possibly be able to pass the test as I had not studied for it (despite thriving in many accelerated classes) and I would not be able to graduate. I missed one question on the test.
I do not know much about Azle ISD, but I do know a few people who graduated from the school. All I know is that there has to be a better alternative than Aledo ISD.
