Considering relocating to a different part of the United States. Any suggestions please.? Question: I currently reside in Tennessee which is where my I was born and raised. I was on active duty in California and aside from the cost of living I liked it. I'm considering relocating and some of the prospective areas are Nashville, TN, Charlotte, NC, Somerwhere in VA (suggestions) Chicago, IL, Washington D.C. or somewhere in Maryland. My main concern is a good job market, excellent schools and a good community and a relatively comfortable Cost of living for the wages in that area. Any suggestions?
Answer:
Nashville and Charlotte are nice, northern Virginia (D.C. area) has gotten very expensive and has the 3rd worst traffic congestion in the nation, but there is a lot to see and do in the area. D.C also has a lot of jobs and plenty opportunitys to get ahead. Virginia Beach area is nice (if you don't mind living in a "military town") and affordable. Chicago is a big city with a lot of diversity and just about everything you would ever want to see and do.

Currently live in Marietta, GA, but want to relocate, but not sure where.? Question: I am really tired of the Atlanta traffic and other things. I would like to move to a place not so crowded and safer. I was thinking about either Charlotte, NC, Tennessee, or maybe further up North. I would welcome your ideas. Thank you.
Answer:
I know how you feel. My wife works at Circle 75 Parkway in Smyrna(Vinings) and the traffic is horrible! We moved back here from the Charlotte area. We loved it there but traffic was worsening and its getting even worse now that the population is booming there. Chattanooga is a great town to live with a wonderful 4 season climate. Traffic is a piece of cake compared to the mess inside the watermelon 500! i think further up north you get into all of the hassles with the snow in the winter. lots of shoveling. So I would probally go with the Tennessee thing if you hate traffic. I live in Adairsville (exit 306 on 75)where the traffic is light and the air smells great. the biggest traffic jam here is at night when you have to dodge the deer and possums! So you don't really have to go too far past Rome to find a good area to live if you want too. Anyhow, good luck on your decision!

I want to be an investment banker. How do I start? I have no prior knowledge of finance. I am working on my JD Question: Please state whatever you think is beneficial for me. Also, any website that may better explain the process. In addition, I live in Tennessee, do you believe I can find a job here rather than going to New York City or Charlotte?
Answer:
According to the US Dept of Labor, investment banking is done by a financial analyst, who specializes in investment consulting for banks:
Financial analysts, also called securities analysts and investment analysts, work for banks, insurance companies, mutual and pension funds, securities firms, and other businesses, helping these companies or their clients make investment decisions. Financial analysts read company financial statements and analyze commodity prices, sales, costs, expenses, and tax rates in order to determine a company’s value and to project its future earnings. They often meet with company officials to gain a better insight into the firm’s prospects and to determine its managerial effectiveness. Usually, financial analysts study an entire industry, assessing current trends in business practices, products, and industry competition. They must keep abreast of new regulations or policies that may affect the industry, as well as monitor the economy to determine its effect on earnings.
Financial analysts use spreadsheet and statistical software packages to analyze financial data, spot trends, and develop forecasts. On the basis of their results, they write reports and make presentations, usually making recommendations to buy or sell a particular investment or security. Senior analysts may even be the ones who decide to buy or sell if they are responsible for managing the company’s or client’s assets. Other analysts use the data they find to measure the financial risks associated with making a particular investment decision.
Financial analysts in investment banking departments of securities or banking firms often work in teams, analyzing the future prospects of companies that want to sell shares to the public for the first time. They also ensure that the forms and written materials necessary for compliance with Securities and Exchange Commission regulations are accurate and complete. They may make presentations to prospective investors about the merits of investing in the new company. Financial analysts also work in mergers and acquisitions departments, preparing analyses on the costs and benefits of a proposed merger or takeover.
Training and education required:
A college education is required for financial analysts and is strongly preferred for personal financial advisors. Most companies require financial analysts to have at least a bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, statistics, or finance. Coursework in statistics, economics, and business is required, and knowledge of accounting policies and procedures, corporate budgeting, and financial analysis methods is recommended. A master’s degree in business administration is desirable. Advanced courses in options pricing or bond valuation and knowledge of risk management also are suggested.
Employers usually do not require a specific field of study for personal financial advisors, but a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, business, mathematics, or law provides good preparation for the occupation. Courses in investments, taxes, estate planning, and risk management also are helpful. Programs in financial planning are becoming more widely available in colleges and universities.
Although not required for financial analysts or personal financial advisors to practice, certification can enhance one’s professional standing and is strongly recommended by many employers. Financial analysts may receive the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation, sponsored by the CFA Institute . To qualify for this designation, applicants need a bachelor’s degree and 3 years of work experience in a related field and must pass a series of three examinations.
Job Outlook:
Overall employment of financial analysts and personal financial advisors is expected to increase faster than average for all occupations through 2014, resulting from increased investment by businesses and individuals.
Deregulation of the financial services industry is expected to spur demand for financial analysts and personal financial advisors. In recent years, banks, insurance companies, and brokerage firms have been allowed to broaden their financial services. Many firms are adding investment advice to their list of services and are expected to increase their hiring of personal financial advisors. Many banks are entering the securities brokerage and investment banking fields and will increasingly need the skills of financial analysts.
Financial analysts also will be needed in the investment banking field, where they help companies raise money and work on corporate mergers and acquisitions. However, growth in demand for financial analysts to do company research has been, and will continue to be, constrained by regulations that require investment firms to separate research from investment banking. As a result, firms have eliminated research jobs in an effort to contain the costs of implementing these regulations.
Demand for financial analysts in investment banking fluctuates because investment banking is sensitive to changes in the stock market. In addition, further consolidation in the finance industries may eliminate some financial analyst positions, dampening overall employment growth somewhat. Competition is expected to be keen for these highly lucrative positions, with many more applicants than jobs.
For information on a career as a financial analyst, contact either of the following organizations:
American Academy of Financial Management, 2 Canal St., Suite 2317, New Orleans, LA 70130. Internet: http://www.financialanalyst.org
Good luck!

Who is the most successful new NFL city since '77 expansion? Question: Since 1977, the NFL has moved to or added 7 new cities into the fold:
Arizona (Phoenix) Cardinals
Carolina (Charlotte) Panthers
Indianapolis Colts
Jacksonville Jaguars
Seattle Seahawks
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Tennessee (Nashville) Titans
I do realize that on and off field success are not mutually exclusive, but...on field success aside, which franchise has been the most successful?
Think I know the flip side will be easier, but can we agree on who the worst is?
Before anyone asks, Baltimore, Cleveland, Houston, Oakland and St. Louis all had teams prior to '77...just not (Raiders & Browns excluded) the one that resides there now, so they aren't included.
Answer:
Tampa Bay since they are the only one of those teams to win a Super Bowl.
Edit: I guess when you say off field sucess you mean financial sucess all teams in the NFL share the pie, but if you own your stadium that is where you make the big bucks. Here is an article dated 2003 , but it gives you an idea of the values of the different franchises.

The US dollar is quite cheap compared to the Euro, which means once you make the trip to the USA, you only pay about half the price you would in the UK for the things you buy.
However, Most American products are known for speedy delivery more so than quality. But we do have our high-end stores.
Answer:
I totally wouldn't be able to choose.
But if I had to pick I'd go to California, New York or Florida I think.
Ohhh actually I don't know.
I'd want to visit all the places I did about in history when we did about the opening up of the American West.
So yeah, ALL of them!

NBA:
New York Nets to New Jersey
St. Louis Hawks to Atlanta
Baltimore Bullets to Washington
Kansas City Kings to Sacramento
Vancouver Grizzlies to Memphis
Charlotte Hornets to New Orleans
Seattle Supersonics to Oklahoma City
Answer:
Probably very few would talk about this one, but.....
I would say Washington Senators to the Minnesota Twins. That is almost 50 years now. I believe that was 1960.
The Twins became a great team going to the World Series in 1965, 1967, and then winning the Series in 1987 and 1991. They are now a perennial contender in the playoffs this past decade using young players. They have had some classic players as well with Killebrew, Oliva, Carew, Puckett, Hrbek, Jack Morris, Blyleven, Aguilera, Santana, and great managers like Tom Kelly and Ron Gardenhire.
I think they have become a great team, and a team that has a whole different philosophy about playing the game.

What places in the U.S. have the most beautiful women w/ the best personalities? Worst personalities? Question: And why do you suppose this is?
I realize there are great girls everywhere in terms of looks and personality, and that a great girl is not and should not be all about just looks. I have my opinion, and I'm interested in what people throughout Yahoo! Answers think. Thanks!
My list:
Best - great looks, great personalities overall:
-Anywhere in TEXAS...truly a "Lone Star" of a state when it comes to its women!
-Oklahoma
-Tennessee (west of Knoxville)
-Alabama
-Mississippi
-Georgia
-North Carolina (outside of Charlotte and Raleigh-Durham)
-South Carolina
-Evansville, IN
Worst - great looks, bad personalities overall:
-California cities (San Diego, LA, SanFran/Bay Area)
-Seattle
-Chicago
-Detroit
-Ohio
-Florida (From Gainesville on south)
-Kentucky (especially Louisville)
-Arizona
Oh yeah, typically w/ great personalities also comes good manners!
Yes, david r, it's a survey, I know that! Don't be a wise-a*s yankee!
Answer:
I have never been to the US but i have chatted to loads of people in the US online and i found on average that both men and women from Texas to have the best personalities.

Which U.S. states are friendliest? Least friendly? Why do you suppose they are as they are? Question: Friendly:
-Texas: The friendliest of them all! It's like a whole other country, culturally and historically, it's in a class of it's own...and I'm not even from there!
-Tennessee
-North Carolina (west of Charlotte)
-Alabama
-Georgia (outside of Atlanta)
-Mississippi
-Oklahoma
-Louisiana
-Michigan (surprisingly friendly!)
Least friendly:
-California...met very few people from there I even liked
-Ohio...probably 2nd worst
-New Jersey
-New York
-Illinois
-Florida
-Kentucky
-Maryland
The friendly states are ones which family values, manners, politeness, and common courtesy are (mostly) instilled in children even today. The states that aren't so friendly are ones that, while there are good people there (as there are everywhere,) people just seem to be harder to please and don't smile as much. (Kentucky, to me, is the most perplexing, because it's a "Southern" state. I guess you could say it's an insult to true Southerners to call Kentucky a Southern state.)
BTW, I'm from Kentucky.
Another state that's not friendly: Kansas. Actually, I've never been there, but some of my relatives went out there a few years back, and they said Kansans were some of the meanest people you'd ever meet and they'll never go back. (And they never have a problem w/ people anywhere they go!)
Answer:
I think Tennessee is the most friendly. I believe Indiana people are really terrible and make their state the worse.

month-to-month leases? Question: I am looking for the names of any known landlords in the tennessee (nashville or memphis) or north carolina (charlotte or durham) or texas (dallas or killeen) areas who rent HOUSES on month-to-month basis. I am looking to relocate, and would like to have a house waiting for me, but I want the option of moving out once I find a house to purchase. I am open to moving anywhere south, so leads to landlords in ms, la, ga, etc would be equally helpful. I'm still in brainstorming phase, but want to be ready to move by the time school lets out. I have a decent career, so employment is not a problem. I just need a little help with the house-hunt. Thanks to anyone able to help!

Answer:
Not only social security, but schools and health care services are also being used by illegal aliens. They have no right to school or medical care if they are here illegally. They are breaking the law and they should be put in jail and then sent back to Mexico. Why should people who break the law be given any kind of reward or should be allowed to use any government benefits. I see all these rallies on t.v and they are all saying how they are Americans, but they are not Americans at all, they are law breakers and should pay like anyone else. I'm sorry that Mexico is so messed up, but it is not the job of the United states to help you out. I'm sure that if Americans started to cross into Mexico in huge numbers, the government of Mexico would be up in arms and the boarder would look more like a war zone. Mexico wants illegals here because it helps out Mexico, they don't put any money back into the u.s.a, they send it back home. And people also say how they are only taking jobs that Americans won't do, that's a bunch of crap, because they take good jobs from Americans and they drive our wages way down, why pay me 15 dollars an hour when they can pay an illegal 8 dollars to do the same job. Its wrong and has to stop.

Should I call or text him again? Question: I'm 35 female and recently divorced. I've been in the dating scene for about a year now. Last weekend I went to Charlotte, NC to visit my family, an all girls weekend. We went out to Whiskey River and had a great time. I wasn't looking for anything, just having a good time and meeting new people. I met this guy that is from around Knoxville, Tennessee. He and a friend were in Charlotte to see the Panther game that Sunday. Anyway I noticed he kept looking at me across the dance floor. I went up to bar to get a drink with my cousin and she noticed he had been looking at me alot. When we turned around from bar with our drinks in hand, there he was. She (my cuz) asked him his name and introduced us. That was it. We hung out for about an hour and he left to go to another bar. He said I was the sexiest woman he has ever met. I was really attracted to him and just not physically. He was so easy to talk to. The night ended. He gave me his number. I texted him later that night when we got home and he wanted to buy me breakfast the next morning but I had to leave town that morning and come home. I've texted him twice to say hi and I haven't heard back from him. Do I continue or just give up. I'm not like this. I shouldn't even care but I swear there was a connection there. More than I had with my ex husband, lol. What do you think?

Who here believes in signs? Question: I'm kind of going through a tough 2-3 years. Hadn't had a good job, no real potential relationships, and can't find good friends. Now some people I talk to believe that it has to be me and something I'm doing wrong. I have looked over situations and I don't see how that is possible. I have been thinking of moving for the past few years do you think this is why I haven't had such good luck in anything. I did have an amazing job with a great part time job, lots of friends, and an amazing dates/boyfriend-then I lost both jobs (budget cuts/closing) and everything went after that. I was thinking about moving to tennessee then on tv that's all i heard about and the first person i met at my school was from tennessee...now i'm not thinking of moving there but charlotte, north carolina (cuz there is family)...Anyways I also have been finding pennies everywhere since my great grandmother died...do you think this is coincidence or really a sign that i should move? whats with the pennies?
Answer:
You are on the right track, because you are at least AWARE that you need a change - - now you need to DO IT - stop wasting time and energy asking this or that - - just pack your things, pick a place, say good bye and GO!!!! If it were ME, I would pick where family is - at least that way you are not completely alone in a unfamiliar place.
It is said that when you find MONEY, it is a past relative or friend trying to contact you - it could also mean someone dropped their piggy bank or had a hole in their pocket - - again, FOCUS on CHANGE, not the past or what this or that might mean - GO - you will find out in due time.

Will Streetcars Become The Dominant Form Of Transportation....? Question: In the following cities that have or are building them: * Portland, Oregon
* Tacoma, Washington
* Little Rock, Arkansas
* Memphis, Tennessee
* Kenosha, Wisconsin
* Tampa, Florida
* San Francisco, California
* New Orleans, Louisiana
Currently Under Construction:
* Seattle, Washington- Opens September 2007
* Washington, DC- Opens Spring 2008
Currently in Design:
* Miami, Florida
* Charlotte, North Carolina
Currently in Planning:
* Baltimore, Maryland

* Sacramento, California
* Tucson, Arizona
* Omaha, Nebraska
* Ft. Lauderdale, Florida
* Austin, Texas
* Cincinnati, Ohio
* Madison, Wisconsin
* Winston-Salem, North Carolina
* Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
Answer:
From what I've seen, streetcars as a valid mass transit system fall short. The streetcar system in Tampa is a nice novelty and gets moderate usage, especially in Ybor City during peak nightlife hours.
However, it is far too small in capacity and number of destinations to be a viable commuter options for many people. I assume the same is true in most modern cities.

where should mlb expand (3 AL, 3 NL 1east, 1 central, 1 west)? Question: East- portland, maine -montreal, quebec, canada -louisvlle, kentucky -newark, new jersey- charlotte, north carolina -hamptons -jacksonville, florida -montgomery, alabama -puerto rico- nashville, tennessee -memphis, tennessee -arlington, virginia-columbus, ohio- buffalo, new york -hartford, conneticut-
orlando, florida- richmond, virginia- oklahoma city, oklahoma
West- las vegas, nevada -new orleans, louisiana -portland, oregon -vancouver, bc, canada -san antonio, texas- el paso, texas- albequerque, new mexico- boise, idaho -salt lake city, utah -calgary, alberta, canada -tuscon, arizona -omaha, nebraska -wichita, kansas -honuloulu, hawaii-riverside, california -austin, texas
Answer:
In the east it would be hard to say about Montreal (maybe getting back an "Expo" name?). Louisville would be cool (Call them the "Sluggers"). Personally I'd look at Memphis if any would be picked out of that line followed maybe by either Jacksonville or Charlotte.
In the west it would be interesting to see a team up in Calgary so that would be my first choice followed perhaps by San Antonio. I couldn't see Boise getting one, Omaha has enough trouble getting anyone to go to AAA ballgames while Wichita I'd think would be too close to KC.

mlb expansion, 2 plz? Question: East- portland, maine -montreal, quebec, canada -louisvlle, kentucky -newark, new jersey- charlotte, north carolina -hamptons -jacksonville, florida -montgomery, alabama -puerto rico- nashville, tennessee -memphis, tennessee -arlington, virginia-columbus, ohio- buffalo, new york -hartford, conneticut-

Answer:
maybe in twenty years they will add 2 more teams to the American league to make it a even 16 teams each but i would no hold my breath on that.
most likely cities to get a team would be either Charlotte or OKC out of the "east", but it would be cool if they added San Juan. For the west, which you have way better chance to add teams it would be Las Vegas, NO, Portland, San Antonio or SLC.
So out of my 8 cities I would say Charlotte or Las Vegas have the greatest chance of getting a team with San Antonio and SLC not to far behind.
But out of those i think Las Vegas will have a team by 2015 most likely the Marlins if they don't get a new stadium.
