Looking for an RV park near Brookings, SD? Question: Hi, im looking for an RV park very near Brookings, South Dakota. I will be attending new student orientation for the University next month and my family and I will be staying in our fifth wheel.
Also, does Brookings have any major stores, like Walmart, or Safeway, or anything like that?
Im quite unfimiliar. Thanks!
Answer:
All I can find on campgrounds near Brookings is Oakwood Lakes State Park, 12 miles Northwest of town on Road 6, of I-29. Another is Lake Poinsett State Recreation Area, 21 miles Northwest off US 81.
Grocery stores seem to be sparce. I find that hard to believe with South Dakota State in town. A further check shows a Wal Mart in town. With my old map, it'll most likely upgraded to a Supercenter by now.
Another update on campgrounds: Sexauer City Park, phone (605) 692-2708 for availability.
Good luck
