    Wadsworth is a city in Medina County, Ohio, United States. Founded in 1814, it was named after General Elijah Wadsworth, a Revolutionary War hero. Schapiro, Elanor Iler (1964). The Wadsworth City School District is also known in the area for its tradition of success not only in athletics, but also in the arts and academics. Wadsworth is located at 41°1'40" North, 81°43'47" West (41.027867, -81.729768). The city has a total area of 9.5 square miles, all of it land. Nearby cities include Cleveland and Akron.
