City DescriptionNorthfield is a village in Summit County, Ohio, United States. The population was 3,827 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Akron Metropolitan Statistical Area.
Northfield is located at 41°20′31″N 81°31′51″W / 41.34194°N 81.53083°W / 41.34194; -81.53083 (41.341978, -81.530957).
According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 1.1 square miles (2.8 km²), all of it land.
As of the census of 2000, there were 3,827 people, 1,573 households, and 1,052 families residing in the village. The population density was 3,568.1 people per square mile (1,380.9/km²). There were 1,676 housing units at an average density of 1,562.6/sq mi (604.8/km²). The racial makeup of the village was 92.50% White, 3.40% African American, 0.24% Native American, 2.19% Asian, 0.63% from other races, and 1.05% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.84% of the population.
