Lacrosse is action packed and lots of fun! The sport has elements of soccer, football, basketball and hockey. Once you try lacrosse, you'll love lacrosse! All equipment will be provided in this highly instructional program. Experienced coaches will be provided by Jump Start Sports. All players will receive instruction on the fundamentals, including: passing and catching; fielding ground balls; cradling; spacing and positioning; and defense. Then they will be divided by gender and age to play fun game situational scrimmages which will help them learn more and enjoy the fast paced action of the game. Plastic sticks will be used and no checking, stick checking, or poking will be allowed. No helmets or shoulder pads will be used.
Limit: 20 students per grade

Each session consists of instruction in each aspect of the game, participation in fun drills that are designed to teach skills, and lowkey, noncompetitive game. Parents are encouraged to assist in the coaching and are provided with practice plans and literature to aid them. Hummingbirds Soccer is a terrific introduction to soccer and organized sports and a fun and meaningful experience for the whole family.
When: Tuesday evenings: Classes begin at either 5:30 or 6:30 p.m. and last one hour. All teams will have a schedule including both time periods.

The 1 mile Kids’ Fun Race and walk gives young people a great chance to run for time or just walk for a great cause. Following the race, participants enjoy a family fun fair for the young or young at heart. Entry fees are $15 for the 4 mile race ($20 day of race) and $10 for the Kids’ race and fun walk and activities. Free T-shirts are available to the first 500 registrants and cash prizes awarded to the top 3 male and female finishers as well as the top male and female master. Whether your child is a girl or a boy, a serious athlete or a novice, Jump Start Sports has designed the perfect day camp to enable him or her to have a meaningful summer filled with fun, learning, and new friendships.
⢠Morning Activities: We'll begin each day with an "allcamp" activity such as Capture the Flag, British Bulldog, Red Rover, or a scavenger hunt. On hot days, campers will cool off with spirited water games.
⢠Theme Sport: The camp features a different sport each week. Coaches and counselors with expertise in the featured sport implement a program designed specifically for the ability and understanding of each age group. Campers learn about a different aspect of the sport each day and apply what they've learned by playing a fun, lowkey game.
⢠Afternoon Electives: In the afternoon, campers choose from a large menu of activities including swimming, diving, tennis, biking, fishing, horseback riding, lacrosse, ultimate Frisbee, and a variety of field games and gym games.
⢠Field Trips: On Fridays, campers can choose to go on a fun and adventurous field trip to the locations listed on the registration form. Field trips are an additional cost and vary in price from $5 to $20.
⢠Staff: Jump Start Sports hires only highly qualified counselors and directors. Most of our counselors are in college or graduate school and have experience in sports and working with children. Our camp directors and coaches have substantial experience and training in education and sports. Our 8 to 1 ratio ensures substantial individualized attention
