Berkey is located at 41°42′52″N 83°50′0″W / 41.71444°N 83.833333°W / 41.71444; -83.833333 (41.714400, -83.833392).
According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 4.2 square miles (10.8 km²), all of it land.
As of the census of 2000, there were 265 people, 98 households, and 81 families residing in the village. The population density was 63.5 people per square mile (24.5/km²). There were 100 housing units at an average density of 23.9/sq mi (9.2/km²). The racial makeup of the village was 98.11% White, 0.75% Native American, 0.38% Asian, and 0.75% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.38% of the population.
There were 98 households out of which 39.8% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 69.4% were married couples living together, 10.2% had a female householder with no husband present, and 17.3% were non-families. 15.3% of all households were made up of individuals and 8.2% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.70 and the average family size was 3.04.
