Avon lake Ohio? Question: Has any1 been or living in avon lake because i am thinking about moving there... i want to know if its a safe town and anything you know about it realli, and also how near is the nicest beach? anything will be helpful.
Answer:
Avon Lake is pleasant, the nearest beach is less than 10 minutes away, and has good schools. The area is generally safe, however, there is a lot of vandalism (i don't know if more than in other towns). There is a nice public library and good public services. Cleveland, movie theaters, and most stores are all within close driving distance. I am a senior in high school and I will miss it next year!

Will Ohio get a snowday tommorow? Question: I am from Avon Lake, Ohio and am wondering if any of you think we have a snowday. The conditions have obviously tampered, and it's not snowing and has warmed up but we still have quite a bit of accumulation [near/over a foot]. Do you think we will have school Monday?
Answer:
I don't know. Maybe, depending on how the road crews do on treating the roads today. I hope we do though. My school already has 4 days to make up from previous cancelations, and our buildings lack air conditioning for those hot summers. In our district, this next Monday thru Friday are OGT's. The schools will probably push harder than usual to stay open for those tests.
I live in Ohio as well, but this snow is not nearly as bad as what occurred just one year ago. About 2+ feet were dumped on my area. The town was put into a level 3 snow emergency (this time it's only a level 2). And 2 years before that (3 years ago), we had one of the worst winters I remember. In January, we got hit with probably 2+ feet of snow; both of these storms were worst than this current one. And just a few weeks after that finally melted, we got an unimaginable ice storm. Many, many trees all throughout the town had to be torn down. It looked as if a tornado had plowed through the area. Even the huge tree in my backyard, which is 100% healthy, had several large limbs come down.
Compared to that, this storm isn't bad at all. I had actually expected worse.

Northern Ohio Costume rental for theater? Question: Im in charge of our high school's costumes and props for the spring musical, the wizard of oz. Does anyone know where I can rent or buy costumes for stage? I live in Avon Lake, Ohio and I am willing to drive an hour if need be. We are on a budget so that's one thing to be considered. High school directors, where do you get your costumes? Thanks!
Answer:
Have you tried contacting the Beck Center in Lakewood or local college theatre departments (like B-W and Oberlin who are closer to you than CWRU)? Often they will rent out pieces for a very small fee to local groups. Can't hurt to try. Break a leg!
