City Description

Aquilla is a village in Geauga County, Ohio, United States. The population was 372 at the 2000 census. This represented a very slight change from the 386 people who were reported there by the 1950 census. Aquilla is located at 41°32′46″N 81°10′31″W / 41.54611°N 81.17528°W / 41.54611; -81.17528 (41.546164, -81.175297). According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 0.1 square miles (0.4 km²), all of it land. As of the census of 2000, there were 372 people, 138 households, and 98 families residing in the village. The population density was 2,658.4 people per square mile (1,025.9/km²). There were 146 housing units at an average density of 1,043.4/sq mi (402.6/km²). The racial makeup of the village was 98.39% White, 0.27% African American, 0.81% Asian, and 0.54% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.27% of the population. There were 138 households out of which 38.4% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 52.9% were married couples living together, 17.4% had a female householder with no husband present, and 28.3% were non-families. 23.2% of all households were made up of individuals and 6.5% had someone living alone
