Questions Possibly Related to Carolina Beach, North CarolinaProvided By Y! Answers
What is the closest city to a North Carolina OR South Carolina beach? Question: Looking to relocate to North Carolina, specifically Charlotte, but before buying a house there, I'd like to know if there is a closer city to a beach.
Answer:
We just relocated to Charlotte area from Boston. I would say your best bet for a city by the beach is Charleston, SC. It's supposed to be beautiful there. Charlotte is about a 3-3.5 hour drive from Myrtle Beach, SC, which is also nice but you would probably be hard-pressed to find work there as it's more of a tourist area. Charlotte is cool though, there's lots of stuff to do but the closest thing you have to water is Lake Norman, which is nice but it's hardly a substitute for a beautiful beach. There are small beaches along the lake however. Good luck :)

Which North Carolina beach should we vacation at? Question: I've been to Destin Florida and it was beautiful but now we're going to on vacation a little closer to home. I figure North Carolina is a good spot for nice beaches that isn't terribly far away from home (Ohio). I've been searching on the web but so many names come up. Can anyone help? I want to go somewhere really pretty with preferrably white sands and always something to do whether it's shopping, parks, amusement parks, etc. It will be a vacation for two young people.
Answer:
The Outer Banks is your best bet. If you have young people in your party, Nags Head is nice and has a lot of activities. If you like a quiter setting Hatteras Island would be great, less to do, more quiet, but in my mind better!

Has anyone ever been to or going to Carolina Beach, North Carolina? Question: I am going there this summer and i was just wondering what it is like or if you have ever been there.
Thanks.
Answer:
I've been there plenty of times. I've seen much better beaches, but they have an amazing aquarium there and a few old forts. If you like history and museums, it's awesome, but if you're looking to chill at the beach, I'd choose somewhere else. They're always REALLY crowded and you can barely swim without bumping into people.

Can you recommend a North Carolina beach? Question: I'm visiting my Marine this weekend at Camp Lejeune, NC. Can anyone recommend a nice beach within an hour or so driving distance for a day trip? I looked at a map and here are some of the names I found: Surf City, Sneads Ferry, Cape Carteret, Emerald Isle, Bogue Sound, Pin Knoll Shores, Atlantic Beach, Beaufort.
We prefer a less populated, quieter beach, we love wildlife and clean, natural areas, and we're definitely not into clubbing. If you're familiar with the vicinity, I'd welcome your suggestions. Thanks!
Answer:
Okracoke Island is accessible by ferry, and it is so secluded. You & your Marine would love the privacy. Shake his hand for me, tell 'em I appreciate his service. :-)

What is there to do on a vacation in Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina (Wilmington)? Question: We will be staying ON the beach but are interested in going to Wilmington for shopping and such too. Also, we will be driving from Greensboro so anything to do on the route from Greensboro to Wrightsville Beach to make our 3 hour car ride more interesting would be very much appreciated! Thanks ya'll! :)
Answer:
If you are driving from Greensboro you could always stop in Raleigh or Durham on your way to the beach. There are tons of state museums that are great and are located in Raleigh. I would also check out the north Carolina aquariums that are located on the coast. They are lots of fun for rainy days. Downtown Wilmington is also really nice. I would suggest taking a carriage ride downtown, visiting the battleship, or visiting the historic houses in the downtown area. Also, remember that other beaches are really close so you can always take a short day trip to see what other beaches have to offer such as the fort near Kure beach.

Can someone help me find a north carolina beach with an rv park, but not the outer banks? Thanks? Question: I'm helping my daughter move to Charlotte, nc, and I don't want to drive back to PA and then to the beach when we are already so close. We have a camper, so I don't think we can take the ferry to OBX. I was thinking more like topsail island, emerald isle, Wrightsville, Atlantic Beach, someplace with RV parks that is on the beach.
Answer:
either Wrightsville Beach or Carolina Beach - both close to Wilmington try this link - good luck
