City DescriptionBuies Creek is a census-designated place (CDP) located in the Neills Creek Township of Harnett County, North Carolina, United States. The population was 2,215 at the 2000 census.
The town of Buies Creek was incorporated by the North Carolina General Assembly in 1903. The town charter was repealed in 1967.
Buies Creek is located at 35°24′37″N 78°44′20″W / 35.41028°N 78.73889°W / 35.41028; -78.73889 (35.410232, -78.738846).
According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 2.3 square miles (5.9 km²), of which, 2.3 square miles (5.9 km²) of it is land and 0.44% is water.
As of the census of 2000, there were 2,215 people, 612 households, and 211 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 974.0 people per square mile (376.7/km²). There were 698 housing units at an average density of 306.9/sq mi (118.7/km²). The racial makeup of the CDP was 84.20% White, 10.16% African American, 0.36% Native American, 2.71% Asian, 0.05% Pacific Islander, 1.31% from other races, and 1.22% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 2.08% of the population.
