North Carolina Apartment laws? Question: Hello,
I stay in Lake in the Pines in North Carolina. We have a two bedroom, one bath apartment. I moved in after everyone else, but there have been several noise complaints by the people who I stay with currently. They have had 5 noise complaints, two trash complaints, and three pet complaints. There have been three pets that have lived here. Two dogs and one cat. One dog was gottten rid of, for they did not pay the pet deposit. The cat was found dead. And the other dog, which was taken from me by another room mate here.. Who claimed she could care for it. Well, the problem is that they have all these complaints.. And they have talked their way out of eviction and complaints a few times. So, they are trying to evict us. What I am wanting to know is.. For the noise/trash/pet complaints. Can they really validate the complaint without veryification? We would get these complaints on noise when no one was even awake here.. Or trash..?
Sorry.. There is a girl with a baby here.. And three guys. We did have the complaints, but they were disputed. And then, they were voided. They have noise complaints on us, and others.. But never came to validate. Their reason was is that they have too many tenants to validate all of the complaints.
Answer:
i am going to try and take this question one at a time and answer as such.
you did not state how many were living in the apt. (people), in a two bed room apt you can have as room mates: two married couples, a married couple with two children, in other words four people to the unit.
you can bet that the noise complaints are documented as well as the pet complaints. most property management companies (good ones) ask for a non-refundable pet deposit that should not be called a deposit because the wording is misleading it is not a deposit it is a fee to allow you to have a pet that you will never get back.
the property will prevail (win) in the eviction process. you should read the lease agreement , it will state everything in writing of what is expected of you and what is expected of the company that rented the unit to you.
seems like you guys got a lot of chances but blew them all.
all a lease holder in the state of N.C. has to do is choose not to renew the lease to you and you are sent packing and looking for another place to live. sorry to have to be the bearer of bad news
but next time try to choose you're roomies more carefully. and good luck.

Is real estate affordable in Charlotte, North Carolina? Question: I'm looking for at a 2,000 sq ft home
3 bedrooms
2 baths
Fully fenced in backyard..
Are a must
I currently reside in Michigan
Answer:
Charlotte has very competitive housing prices. You can find a nice house with your requirements anywhere from 120K to over 300K. Depends upon the area of town that interests you. East side and west side are cheaper then north and south of the city. I agree that Zillow is a good place to start. It lets you search by address, see pictures of properties, tax info, other sales in the area, etc.

MOVIING!!!NORTH CAROLINA CHARLOTTE AREA need help finding family place to raise our family? Question: my husband and i are looking to move to the charlotte area looking for good place to raise my our kids 2 to 3 bed rooms 1 bath to 1.5 to 2 bath, house, appartment, duplex, etc..reasonable rent or buy....want to be with in 1 hour from ocean. we want to be out of the city but close to it..were looking ourselves but need help never been there before..
Answer:
I went to college in Rock Hill, SC...it is a couple miles outside of Charlotte. It is such a beautiful area that you will LOVE it no matter where you live. Charlotte is a very clean city with lots to do! You may have trouble getting close to Charlotte and being an hour away from the ocean...Charlotte is still a couple hours away from a beach. Again I would suggest the Rock Hill area, I was able to find a fabulous townhouse on a college students salary :- ) and it is a great place to raise children...also a huge park in town to take them to. Winthrop University is also a beautiful campus where you can take your children to the lake, etc.

RALEIGH, North Carolina People: PLEASE HELP ME OUT!!? Question: I need to make a decision on buying a rental property near NC State but cannot get a clear sense of what it would rent for -- how much do you pay in rent (give your zip code and beds / bath)
Thanks so much, and any advice on whether you think buying a rental for students is a good idea also appreciated :)
Answer:
The student thing only works if you require a parent to cosign on the lease. First time renter's such as students tend to go hog wild and do lots of damage. You need to make sure someone with available cash is on the hook for the damage.

North Carolina? Question: If so where, do you like it and why?How old are you and do u have kids.I am thinking about moving down there to become a teacher with my boyfriend. His major is criminal Justice and as I said I am becoming a teacher. I want to live in a nice area, not much crime, with nice houses etc. However I also want to live by a little nite life. If you can help me that would be wonderful. I can use all the help. Also if you bought a house do u know how much they go for, 3 bed 2 bath and higher. Thanks!
Answer:
I like North Carolina because it is a beautiful and growing state. Raleigh, N.C. is a very nice place to live and has nite life. If you want to live in an area where the crime is low near Raleigh, I suggest the town of Cary. Cary is smaller than Raleigh, but growing. Cary is a beautiful, clean, and quiet area. Cary, N.C was voted top 100 places to live in 2006. Now for the downside. I am not sure what you consider expensive when it comes to houses. Cary has very, very nice houses but they are on the expensive side. Other places to consider near the Raleigh area is Garner, Knightdale, & Wendell.
Wake County public schools was rated one of the best schools systems in North Carolina, so coming to work in the Raleigh area as teacher can be rewarding. Raleigh housing can also be expensive, but there are houses that are very affordable. If you want more house for less money, I suggest moving into the Wendell, NC which is approximately 20-25 minutes outside of Raleigh.
I suggest you go to http://www.homes.com and check out the prices of homes in the Raleigh and the cities I posted earlier. This will give you a feel as to whether this area will be right for you. Click on links below to find out additional info about the Raleigh (Wake County) area. Good luck.

Realtor Rating System? Moving to North Carolina.? Question: Is there a rating system anywhere?
I might be moving to Charlotte, NC in the next 12 months and will be needing a TOP NOTCH realtor, someone who will not sleep till they find me the absolute BEST house for me and my family. Someone who is actually willing to EARN their commision. Someone who has only MY interests in mind, and not the sellers. Looking for a 2 to 3 bed house, 2 to 3 bath. The newer the better. I want someone who is familiar with local programs in financial assistance, first time buyer programs and someone who can help with a great 30 year fixed mortgage. Price range from $0 to $110,000. Foreclosure property okay if it's a steal. Only people who can meet those qualifications need email me.
Answer:
If you want somebody who has your best interest in mind and not the seller's, then try to find an Exclusive Buyer Agent - they only work for buyers and never represent sellers. They will not push you towards the purchase of any particular property, they'll point out faults of a property and will make sure you get the best deal. You can have the National Association of Exclusive Buyer Agents refer an agent to you. Go to their website to find out more: http://www.naeba.com

any good condos in NMB (north myrtle beach south carolina)? Question: Im looking for a cheap condo for the last full week of june, preferably two bedrooms and two baths on the beach but i am flexible, anyone know anything cheap?
i am also only 20 years of age
Answer:
I think you will find it very difficult to rent if you are under 21 especially a condo. as a rule they don't rent to Minors. I own property there and that is the general rule/ See if your parents will rent for you, and the week you want to rent is the week school is out so forget about cheap! It's graduation week honey! I hope you can find someplace to lay your head other than the sand.

Why do people in california pay what I think would be a rediculous price for a homes? Question: I understand that there is a cost of living adjustment depending on where you live......but really whats up with that? In parts of California, a 2 bedroom condo costs somewhere in the neighborhood of 4-500 grand!!! Here in North Carolina.....the same 400 grand would buy just about any combination of beds and baths you could ever want and square footage is around 4 or 5 thousand sqft or more? ........What makes a person in Cali pay more for a house than someone in NC? A dollar is still a dollar no matter where you are in the US. Its like paying 10 dollars for a Happy meal in Cali and paying 3 dollars for the same in NC...... someone please educate me...........no offense to anyone in advance.....some folks take this stuff way to personally.
and for "Drew" who seems to be so bragadocious .....yay for dolphins and yay for Disneyland.....if you've seen one dolphin you've seen 'em all....I used to live in Cali too.....saying that a place is boring is just your opinion ...just like me saying people from Cali are superficial....only an opinion, "yay...i can look out my window and see the ocean"......"dolphins are priceless" blah, blah....you probably think people from NC are hicks and rednecks too.....hell, .... i was just asking why you would pay so much for so little.....
Answer:
It is a matter of cost of living and supply and demand. I have friends in New York City paying $2000 for what is essentially a shoebox size efficiency which rents for about $350 in my town. You'll see this in most major cities.

Protein in the seawater, which is perfectly natural, mixes with the ozone, producing sea foam I believe.

Good cities to live in SC, FL, NC, TN, and GA? Question: My parents are looking to move out of michigan and downsize our home and would like to look for homes in North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, and Florida. In Florida, it would be nice to live near the Gulf, possibly somewhat near Marco Island or Naples. They looking to spend between $300,000-$500,000 for a 3-5 bedroom and 3-5 bath, 2,500-4,500 sq. ft. home. If you know of ant good areas to live that would be great. If you know of any other good states no more west than the Mississippi River that dont get any or very little cold and snow that would be great also! Thanks so much!
Answer:
Memphis, Tennessee is an interesting town. There is a very high crime rate here -- especially murder -- in the actual city. But the suburbs out where I live are safe and quiet. The absolutely great thing about this area is that the price range your parents are looking in will buy a freaking palace in the suburbs here. Look into places like Germantown, Lakeland, Collierville and Arlington. For people who do not live here, the house prices are astounding. A nice 3/2 in the 'burbs, about 1900 square feet, will cost about $150K. In Florida, the same house will be $350K easy. The same house in Ft. Worth, Texas will only cost about $130K, but the taxes will be close to $5000 per year, or about DOUBLE what they are here (and people here complain about the taxes!). $500K here would easily buy something in the 4500 sq ft range, with marble everywhere, gated entrance, etc. Another option is up in places like Tipton County or Fayette County, which are more rural but are seeing a housing boom because of the lack of city taxes (cuts your tax bill in about half). The cost of living in general here is very low, as well. The trade off is that it is always a buyer's market here in Memphis, so appreciation is a slow, slow thing. We average -- depending on the neighborhood -- from about 1.2% per year in Germantown (the expensive houses) to a high of about 4.1% in the less expensive areas of Memphis. That reminds me, midtown Memphis is a very trendy area these days, with renovated homes from the early 20th Century, that crest the $250K and up range. My advice for an older couple: leave those high-maintenance, mid-urban homes to the young, childless yuppies. Germantown, Collierville, Atoka -- those are the places to be; man they have some gorgeous homes there for less than what the average shanty in LA County would cost. Check out the link below to see exactly what I'm talking about. Imagine what those homes would cost in Orlando. And Germantown police don't tolerate crime... it ain't downtown Memphis.

bathing suit? Question: Im interested in buying my first thong bathing suit. can anyone tell me where a good place to buy one is? Im possibly looking for a one piece "suspender" style or a tiny tiny 2 piece. I hear a company called wicked weasle makes a sexy one. Any opinions? are they comfortable to wear at the beach? do you think they are appropriate? I live in Virginia Beach where they are illegal but my parents have a pool they said I could wear it at their house and we have North Carolina near by and I can wear it there. I usually visit everyother week so they will be used often
Answer:
From a personal standpoint, its all about how comfortable you feel in your own skin. If you think that its not a big deal then I would recommend that you buy one. One of my friends have one and if you wear thong underwear the swimsuit isnt much different. (By the way, I know that Priscilla's sells them but I dont know if you have one of those in Virginia Beach)
