City DescriptionAlliance is a town in Pamlico County, North Carolina, United States. The population was 781 at the 2000 census. It is part of the New Bern, North Carolina Micropolitan Statistical Area.
Alliance is located at 35°8′35″N 76°48′55″W / 35.14306°N 76.81528°W / 35.14306; -76.81528 (35.143133, -76.815333).
According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 2.0 square miles (5.2 km²), all of it land.
As of the census of 2000, there were 781 people, 288 households, and 201 families residing in the town. The population density was 389.5 people per square mile (150.0/km²). There were 304 housing units at an average density of 151.6/sq mi (58.4/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 79.64% White, 17.67% African American, 1.15% Native American, 0.51% Asian, 0.26% from other races, and 0.77% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.77% of the population.
