City Description

Briarcliff Manor is a village in Westchester County in the state of New York. It is shared between the towns of Mount Pleasant and Ossining, and lies entirely within the ZIP code of 10510. As of the 2000 census, the village population was 7,696, over 93% of whom lived in the Town of Ossining. The village motto is a Village between Two Rivers. Briarcliff Manor is located at 41°8′39″N 73°50′29″W / 41.14417, -73.84139 (41.144033, -73.841340). According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 6.7 square miles (17.3 km²), of which, 5.9 square miles (15.4 km²) of it is land and 0.8 square miles (1.9 km²) of it (11.24%) is water. As of the census of 2000, there were 7,696 people, 2,435 households, and 1,996 families residing in the village. The population density was 1,298.9 people per square mile (501.1/km²). There were 2,501 housing units at an average density of 422.1/sq mi (162.8/km²). The racial makeup of the village was 90.74% White, 1.73% African American, 0.05% Native American, 5.44% Asian, 0.04% Pacific Islander, 0.95% from other races, and 1.05% from two or more races.
