I'm also interested in hearing other ideas for things that are more off the beaten path. I also really want to be in Edinburgh for the Fringe Festival.

    You've picked great places but you're NEVER going to see them all. Decide what you want out of your visit - city or countryside... culture or chill out? London demands 3 days minimum (and don't forget it's very expensive), but Edinburgh is cooler (this is a Englander talking too!) Suggest you fly to one or the other and stay in the vicinity. The south of England is great and if you do London, The Cotswolds (whilst you're there do Oxford if you're in the East) and maybe head out to the South-West over your time there. If you're in Scotland, you should definitely get to their fabulous mountains. No offence meant to residents, but there isn't too much to see in Aberdeen and Inverness. Like the others, Dublin is going to need a good few days to appreciate it and it takes some time to get around the Irish countryside (and did you know they have some of the most expensive car hire in the world?) But a trip to the East Coast of Ireland is well worth it. Seriously, pick one area and do it properly - or you won't enjoy your trip. It's also worth getting a Rough Guide / Lonely Planet type book to help you plan your trip.

    Hi there, This is a good post and a good cause, however, you may want to change the headline from "calling all women" to something about cancer in general. The reason I say that is that many men are effected by breast cancer too. They may have lost loved ones or watched them suffer or even joyously overcome the cancer. I'm not sure, but I think men can get breast cancer too. This was just a thought since you said you were going to use all of your points. :-} Leah

    Suggestions for a Ghost Walk? Anywhere in Britain?

    We went on a Ghost tour at Stratford on Avon. The guide was dressed for the occasion and we really enjoyed it. I heard there was a good one on York. But wld like to hear yr comments. Pinkribbon - He was dressed all in black (specs as well) and gave my daughter this bell to ring at each stop. We were outside the churchyard and while he was telling us another ghostly story this skeleton jumped out. I jumped out of my skin I din't expect it. It was getting dark too.

    I've fancied doing the one at Stratford, was it the guy dressed in a cape with a tall hat? I did one in Tenby a few years ago with the kids, it was okay but tamed down as we had them with us.I booked to go to Craig Y Nos last year but had to cancel as I had to go into hospital.I'm told that one is good, so may try and book again.There are various websites that recommend ghost walks, have a Google for them.I think most big towns do them as us tourists are mugs enough to pay to go on them.They are a good laugh though, and educational for historic reasons. Have you tried London or Edinburgh? Ghosts Alive in Warwick Castle is a hoot too. EDIT:Thanks Minxy, might give that one a try closer to Halloween.:o)
