Zoey Wade, a sophomore at Northport High School, raised more than $16,000 last weekend for the Epilepsy Foundation of Long Island through a "Big Bash" dinner-dance fundraiser held at the American Legion Hall in Northport. The event attracted more than 150 people.

For the third straight year, a Northport pizzeria is giving away a slice this month for every coat donated for a local veterans residence. Artie Berke of Nina's Pizzeria, 487 Main St., began this year's coat drive on Nov. 1 and plans to continue until the end of the month.
