    Accord is a hamlet (and census-designated place) in Ulster County, New York, United States. The population was 622 at the 2000 census. Accord is located in the eastern part of the Town of Rochester along US 209. Accord is the seat of town government. Originally named Port Jackson, it is thought that the name "Accord" resulted from a petition of the townspeople to the Capitol in Albany for a new name. The response was that the authorities could not come to an accord about a new name so the name "Accord" was chosen. The local pronunciation of this word is with a flat 'A' with the accent on the 'A' (ack-chord). Accord is located at 41°47′27″N 74°13′43″W / 41.79083, -74.22861 (41.791103, -74.228766). According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 3.4 square miles (8.9 km²), of which, 3.4 square miles (8.8 km²) of it is land and 0.1 square miles (0.1 km²) of it (1.45%) is water. As of the census of 2000, there were 622 people, 226 households, and 157 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 183.6 per square mile (70.8/km²). There were 256 housing units at an average density of 75.6/sq mi (29.2/km²). The racial makeup of the CDP was 92.44%

    You cannot survive in NYC on minimum wage. If you want to live in Manhattan comfortably I suggest making AT LEAST $100,000 a year. The more affordable housing is in queens, Brooklyn or the Bronx. The cheapest housing I know is in Newark, NJ which is a short train ride away from Manhattan. However I would really consider Newark as a last option, as it's a high crime area. The cost of living in the city is extremely high compared to other parts of the country. I would not suggest moving here without a steady, well paying job- not a minimum wage job.
