Questions Possibly Related to Des Moines, New MexicoProvided By Y! Answers
Why Did New Mexico's Governor Say The Border Wall Was Not Funded? Question: When in reality it was funded?
He said it on 3/2/07 in a presidential campaign Q&A at Drake University.(Des Moines, Iowa).
BORDER WALL WAS FUNDED BEFORE THE BORDER WALL BILL WAS SIGNED.
"SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — President Bush has signed a homeland security bill that includes $1.2 billion for fencing along the U.S.-Mexico border to stem illegal immigration...The bill also includes an overhaul of the Federal Emergency Management Agency... Standing before a mountainous backdrop in Arizona, a state that has been the center of much debate over secure borders, Bush signed the $35 billion homeland security spending bill into law Wednesday" http://www.abqtrib.com/news/2006/oct/05/bush-oks-border-fence/
Answer:
The govoners of these border states including California are dependent upon the Latino vote. ( As are some non border states now) Particularly are the Democratic govoners in need of the Latin vote, the homosexual vote and the Liberal vote and any other fringe vote.
But they prefer to pontificate and lie rather than tell it as it is.

Dear friends how do you like this good news Dozens Arrested in Illegal Alien Raid? Question: Dozens Arrested in Illegal Immigration Raid
By Ashley Hinson
DES MOINES (AP) - Fifty-one workers were arrested during an immigration raid at six DeCoster egg farms in Wright County. Those farms are where agents have conducted several other raids in recent years.
Tim Counts is spokesman for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. He says the workers, most of them from Mexico, have been transported to various detention facilities in Des Moines, Cedar Rapids, and elsewhere. A judge will decide their fate at deportation hearings in Omaha, Nebraska.
Federal agents conducted the 2.5 hour raid Wednesday. Counts said some of the workers, including some juveniles and parents, were released and told to appear for their scheduled hearing.
Austin ``Jack'' DeCoster, founder of DeCoster Farms, has previously been investigated by ICE for using illegal workers. Agents have raided his farms at least four times since 2001.

What do u think about the words on the song "Minimun Wage" by Lila Downs.? Question: I only want ur opinion on the words, try to say ur opinion with politeness and avoid racism, I want to know the truth but ur personal opinion does not need to be rude against other people.
the words are these:
Travelled seven hundred miles
cross the border to the states
witha plastic bottle running
cross the desert in a shake
come to english-only country
hidin' from the minuteman
come to make this place my home
run a long, long way from them
story of a lifetime, for the minimum wage.
Well they chased me through the desert
then the agents strapped me down
then they ask me why in spanish
why u keep on comin' back
well I left my dad in Jersey
and my sister's in Des Moines
they been workin' in this country
pickin' lettuce, washin' floors
story of a lifetime for the minimum wage
Well they raised me to 8 dollars
'cause I washed the dishes fast
well the boss he got me workin'
on the porch and in the back
then I wash the dish and rinse it
then I go home, then I sleep
well I need to be real careful
'cause I walk out in my sleep
when I see that black van comin'
thenn I know Im sure to run
but goddamn them agents caught me
and they cuffed me on the spot
for the minimum wage
No one forced the boss to hire me
but it's nearly been 15
well I left my baby cryin' with a promise in my skin
on the outskirts of L.A. I recite a native poem
million hands, ten thousand years, its the season for the crop
It's my people doin' the pickin' in the valley of the dolls
If it's a decent job to work it, any day I'll take this job.
Ethipian, Colombian, Pakistani, Cantonese
every man that I run into
all the kitchens on the strip
and they're plugging in them hours
and they're smilin' in their dreams
they're a long long way from home now
but they're lookin' to be free
California, Alabama, and Missouri, Oregon
they been workin' like their fathers were
a long, long time ago
for the minimum wage.
If u'd like to listen to this track u'll be able to find it in Lila Down's most recent album "shake away"
this is intended not to change the mind of anyone on immigration issues, I'd just like to let u see this matter from the immigrants perspective, I think that's important.
I should note that Im mexican but I live in Mexico and its really good for me to be here, just so u can know that Im not trying to defend myself, again this is just to present the immigrants perspective on this issue.
Thanks.
G man: I read my own question trying to find where I'm blamin' the US goverment, I just couldn't find it, read again I asked for opinions not for recommendations on what to do, as a matter of fact I have a rather comfortable life here in my country so really dude I dont have anything to blame on mexico's goverment, again I was just askin' for opinions on the words of the song, and I specifically requested polite answers regardless of the opinion expressed, I believe u have to learn and try to read again, dude.
Answer:
seems to me like the words are the reality of what many undocumented live every day in the USA . the undocumented many times work in the most dangerous places and many times for the minimum , if they get sick or break an arm or anything they are the most likely to be abused even after that , they all do it because of their need and with the hope of a better life not for them but for their children .
part of the blame for this falls in the Mexican government and part in the USA government to be honest , some may ignore it but the USA does actually intervenes daily in the lives of people all over tha planet and sometimes in a not so good way , its all for the greed , the greed of the rich both in those countries and in America .
i remember than when WWII was going on the American president went to Monterrey to give a speech , his words were : it is time to recognize than what affects our neighbors should affect us too , it is time to recognize than the few have been receiving all the benefits while the many poor get abused and it is time to change such attitude ..... after the war was over the Mexican government withheld part of the money from the braceros and the USA did not care about it while they made them undocumented even when those who left to fight the war decided it was time to improve their conditions ... the civil rights movement started .

Whats FEMA up to these days?
Answer:
Since 9/11, and seemingly without the notice of most Americans, the federal government has assumed the authority to institute martial law, arrest a wide swath of dissidents (citizen and noncitizen alike), and detain people without legal or constitutional recourse in the event of "an emergency influx of immigrants in the U.S., or to support the rapid development of new programs."
Beginning in 1999, the government has entered into a series of single-bid contracts with Halliburton subsidiary Kellogg, Brown and Root (KBR) to build detention camps at undisclosed locations within the United States. The government has also contracted with several companies to build thousands of railcars, some reportedly equipped with shackles, ostensibly to transport detainees.
According to diplomat and author Peter Dale Scott, the KBR contract is part of a Homeland Security plan titled ENDGAME, which sets as its goal the removal of "all removable aliens" and "potential terrorists."
Fraud-busters such as Rep. Henry Waxman, D-Los Angeles, have complained about these contracts, saying that more taxpayer dollars should not go to taxpayer-gouging Halliburton. But the real question is: What kind of "new programs" require the construction and refurbishment of detention facilities in nearly every state of the union with the capacity to house perhaps millions of people?
Sect. 1042 of the 2007 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), "Use of the Armed Forces in Major Public Emergencies," gives the executive the power to invoke martial law. For the first time in more than a century, the president is now authorized to use the military in response to "a natural disaster, a disease outbreak, a terrorist attack or any other condition in which the President determines that domestic violence has occurred to the extent that state officials cannot maintain public order."
The Military Commissions Act of 2006, rammed through Congress just before the 2006 midterm elections, allows for the indefinite imprisonment of anyone who donates money to a charity that turns up on a list of "terrorist" organizations, or who speaks out against the government's policies. The law calls for secret trials for citizens and noncitizens alike.
Also in 2007, the White House quietly issued National Security Presidential Directive 51 (NSPD-51), to ensure "continuity of government" in the event of what the document vaguely calls a "catastrophic emergency." Should the president determine that such an emergency has occurred, he and he alone is empowered to do whatever he deems necessary to ensure "continuity of government." This could include everything from canceling elections to suspending the Constitution to launching a nuclear attack. Congress has yet to hold a single hearing on NSPD-51.
U.S. Rep. Jane Harman, D-Venice (Los Angeles County) has come up with a new way to expand the domestic "war on terror." Her Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Act of 2007 (HR1955), which passed the House by the lopsided vote of 404-6, would set up a commission to "examine and report upon the facts and causes" of so-called violent radicalism and extremist ideology, then make legislative recommendations on combatting it.
According to commentary in the Baltimore Sun, Rep. Harman and her colleagues from both sides of the aisle believe the country faces a native brand of terrorism, and needs a commission with sweeping investigative power to combat it.
A clue as to where Harman's commission might be aiming is the Animal Enterprise Terrorism Act, a law that labels those who "engage in sit-ins, civil disobedience, trespass, or any other crime in the name of animal rights" as terrorists. Other groups in the crosshairs could be anti-abortion protesters, anti-tax agitators, immigration activists, environmentalists, peace demonstrators, Second Amendment rights supporters ... the list goes on and on. According to author Naomi Wolf, the National Counterterrorism Center holds the names of roughly 775,000 "terror suspects" with the number increasing by 20,000 per month.
What could the government be contemplating that leads it to make contingency plans to detain without recourse millions of its own citizens?
The Constitution does not allow the executive to have unchecked power under any circumstances. The people must not allow the president to use the war on terrorism to rule by fear instead of by law.
