im currently living in Dubai but will be moving to New Jersey in 2 months, i would just like to know what its like, e.g nightlife, people, weather etc ... my fiance has already moved there and has told me that its a really nice place but ive read that theres alot of crime there . i think the area is Beverly. can anyone give me any info ? thanks alot!!!

    Answer:
Beverly is on the west side of nj (I live near atlantic city on the eastern side). Nightlife: You'll be close enough to Philadelphia, there's something for everyone there depending what you're into. People: Hmm people get really cranky when tourists come to any shore area and can be jerks when driving. Otherwise they're friendly enough. Weather: You get all seasons which I really like about NJ. You'll prolly get the brunt of the bad weather, usually it isn't nearly as rough when it gets to me. Not always of course. Crime: All states, especially large cities, have crime of course. Just use common sense and a gut instinct and you should be fine. Camden, Trenton, Newark, Atlantic City...generally watch yourself in these places. NJ Overall: It isn't totally dirty like people say. Yes some areas are stinky, but mostly northern industrial areas. The beach isn't far, NYC and Philly are close, outdoor activities galore, gambling, and all kinds of things to do.

Do you like eatting at the Cheesecake Factory? Why or Why Not?
    Question:
The Cheesecake Factory is know for its delicious food and its Cheesecake. Founded in Beverly Hills, California in 1978, it went public in 1992 and is located in 34 States including California, Florida, New Jersey, and Ohio. Their website is http://www.cheesecakefactory.com. My question is, do you like eatting at The Chesecake Factory? Why or why not? And what do you like about eating at The Cheesecake Factory?

    Answer:
Yes I do, very much so. The food is excellent and served in abundance. Good service is provided. The breads they give you is divine, for they give it to you fresh and warm. Ambiance is very relaxing. Drinks are done nicely. The cheesecakes are to die for. My only gripe about the place is the decision I have to make in which cheesecake I want to eat for dessert after wards with my cappuccino. The prices are reasonable also. I celebrate my birthday and my wife's birthday there often.

Will Gore's Show Be The Biggest On Earth?
    Question:
Notice where it's being held in communist China! Gore show is set to be biggest on earth Gore show is set to be biggest on earth China will broadcast Live Earth, giving the climate change concerts an audience of 2 billion. Will that silence the sceptics? David Smith reports Sunday July 1, 2007 The Observer Nowhere, perhaps, will be more important than Shanghai. One of eight cities hosting Live Earth concerts for Al Gore's crusade against climate change on Saturday, it will help deliver a vast audience across China. And with the world's most populous country on board, organisers believe they can reach 2 billion people and eclipse even Live8 as the biggest global media event of all time. It will begin at 1.10am British Summer Time in Sydney, Australia, then roll around the globe with concerts in Tokyo, Johannesburg, Shanghai, Hamburg, London's Wembley stadium, New York and finally, at 8pm, Rio de Janeiro's Copacabana beach. A special performance at the British Antarctic Survey Station in Antarctica will ensure all seven continents are included. There will be saturation coverage from TV, radio, the internet and at more than 6,000 parties in 119 countries. Critics have argued the 24-hour spectacular - featuring more than 150 acts including Madonna, Lily Allen, Genesis, Bon Jovi, Kanye West, Kelly Clarkson, Black Eyed Peas and Jack Johnson - will do more for the stars' careers than raising awareness of climate change. But Gore will use it to urge people to sign a seven-point pledge calling on governments to agree, within two years, an international treaty that cuts global warming pollution by 90 per cent in developed countries and by more than half worldwide. It also asks people to cut their own pollution, make their homes, businesses, schools and transport more energy efficient, and plant new trees and preserve forests. With its rapid economic growth and soaring carbon emissions, China is regarded as a crucial target for this message. Kevin Wall, the executive producer of Live Earth, has succeeded where he did not two years ago as a co-organiser of Live8, the centrepiece of the Make Poverty History campaign. 'We're on Chinese TV with 800 million people, ' he told The Observer. 'People often think on a parochial basis, so it's vital to be there. We've got to talk and make the whole world listen.' Live Earth China, on the steps of the Oriental Pearl Tower in Shanghai, will feature popular national singers as well as Britain's Sarah Brightman, and be broadcast across the country by the Shanghai Media Group. Steve Howard, chief executive of The Climate Group, a London-based campaign organisation supporting Live Earth, said: 'The US and China are responsible for half the world's carbon emissions. Live Earth will get huge attention in both. The biggest issue on the planet ever requires the biggest media event ever.' The seed was planted less than two years ago at the Beverly Hills Hotel in California, when Wall, a veteran concert producer, attended a slide show about global warming presented by Gore, as featured in the Oscar-winning documentary An Inconvenient Truth 'Over the course of the 90 minutes my wife and I were very emotionally moved by the climate crisis,' said Wall, 54, a father of three. 'We understood for the first time it was about us, our children and our children's children. This is not just a movie - it's happening.' Wall met the former US vice-president and discussed taking the message to as many people as possible: 'After Live8 I said never again, but I got the call from Al Gore, the global rock star on this issue. What I can do on the day is deliver 2 billion pairs of eyeballs.' On Saturday Gore will be at the Giants Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, near New York City, where the Police, Smashing Pumpkins, Alicia Keys and others will perform. 'We don't want him getting on planes burning carbon,' Wall acknowledged. Profits from Live Earth will go to Gore's Alliance for Climate Protection. But the entire event has been questioned by Bob Geldof, organiser of Live Aid and Live8. In May he said: 'I hope they're a success. But why is he [Gore] actually organising them? To make us aware of the greenhouse effect? Everybody's known about that for years. We are all fucking conscious of global warming.' Sceptics have also pointed to the amount of electricity used to power the speakers and lights, and the fuel spent on ferrying musicians and their equipment to the venues by plane and lorry. Wall said: 'We are trying to minimise the carbon as much as possible. Most artists are coming from nearby areas. Madonna, for example, lives in London and will be performing at Wembley.' He added: 'There are 3,000 concerts a year. We're doing 10, but touching 2 billion people about what I think is the biggest issue that's ever faced humanity.' Steve Howard of the environmental charity Climate Group said: 'Dealing with climate change doesn't mean we have got to stop live performances or call for a moratorium on football matches. There are positive choices for people to make. If we get this right, in 10 to 15 years time every product will be a green product. 'Live Earth is a big step in the right direction.' Howard added. 'Arnold Schwarzenegger put it well when he said in Washington DC: "We need to make the environment cool and sexy."' Organisers deny that Live Earth will be a one-off that could be soon forgotten. They have produced more than 60 short films, 30 public service announcements featuring stars such as Cameron Diaz and Penelope Cruz, and a book, The Live Earth Global Warming Survival Handbook by David de Rothschild, that will be published in Britain this week. http://observer.guardian.co.uk/world/story/0,,2115785,00 .html

Al Gore causes as much pollution as 500 normal everyday USA citizen's. It is just a publicity thing for him. If he is really concerned, his electric use would power an entire block of houses.

However, the best flow cytometry software is FlowJo. There is a PC (Java based) and a Mac version. I haven't tried many but there any many alternatives anyway.. Flow Cytometry Plus Microscopy "The visualpower of microscopy plus the statistical rigor of flow cytometry rolled into 1 package." That's the company's tag line. And they deliver. LOVETHELAB?************ I'm a BD flow lover, a confirmed Mac user (I tell everyone "I don't do Windows"). So why am I touting a machine made by Amnis that requires Windows? Because this instrument goes above and beyond mere flow cytometry- it shows you every event (that's cell to non-flow users) in detail. I used it and I am sold. It takes a single experiment now to do intracellular localization, in place of two. A simpler caspase activation assay. What's not to love? Even the computer quandary is solvable (the one feature I'd change: I'd have it run off a Mac) - with an Intel Mac; just get Parallels software, install Windows, and you are good to go, or rather, run. And the ImageStream can run off an Intel Mac this way too. I bought an Intel iMac just for analysis. Installation of Parallels was easy, IDEAS is about as intuitional as any flow software package. And Amnnis reps bend over to be helpful. Don't let the price tag scare you; rather, help write a shared- instrument grant (we did) for your institution to get one. It is simply amazing. The most comprehensive flow cytometry and analytical cytology website I have found. You will find resources ranging from archived protocols to request forms for the latest protocols CD-ROMs - and they are free while supplies last. Job listings, meetings, journals, latest developments- it is all here. Lectures Website Dr. J. Paul Robinson, Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine, has put a compilation of lec-ture slides on a website. Some of the information is bullet statements, but the pictures are great. If you've never seen a flow cytometer, you'll see lots of them here. If you are new to flow, you'll find in-troductory slides here. Practical Flow Cytometry, Fourth Edition by Howard Shapiro, published by J. Wiley & Sons, 2003. Website Dr. Shapiro has kindly put his textbook online through Molecular Probes. It is free! Yes, you do need to register to see it, but that's all you need to do, and you have access forever. Flow Cytometry E-mail Discussion Group Website Have a question? Novices to experts, all levels of questions are welcome. This e-mail group has been invaluable to me. E-mails are archived and can be searched by topic. International Society for Analytical Cytology Website The premier society for flow cytometry, it publishes Cytometry Parts A and B (Clinical Cytometry), Case Studies in Clinical Flow Cytometry, and Current Protocols in Cytometry. These are available on-line, but you must be subscribed for access. Regular dues are US $126; fees are deeply dis-counted for students, post-doctoral fellows, and scientists from developing nations. Please consider joining. National Flow Cytometry Resource, Los Alamos National Laboratories Website Where the cutting edge happens. NFCR runs a course every June that alternates between Los Ala-mos and New England. I recommend it to the serious flow person; you will learn a tremendous amount, including how to build your own flow cytometer, if you are so inclined. FlowCyte Website This discussion group is dedicated to flow users interested in developing uniform bioinformatics standards. They are also developing analysis and statistics software for flow users. Which way should I turn my life?
    Question:
Hi, my name is Am I cool? and I'm a muslim currently living in New Jersey. My dream is that I'll finish Highschool find a woman, and be engaged with her all through college. I'll move to my College and major. I'll than marry my girlfriend and move to California and live somewhere in Beverly Hills. I than want to change the world by creating a new theory or making something that'll become a big hit. I'll have millions of dollars from it and be able to enjoy the rest of my life in California surfing, fishing, sky diving and doing wierd exotic activies. What my father wants for me is to stay in the house and study constantly. He wants me to not go into any sports, he than wants me to marry some muslim girl that I don't even love. Than he plans on making me major me something stupid and don't find interest in. Than he wants me to move to Iran and enjoy a boring and very religious life. Which way should I go... If I do what I want, my dad will be ashamed of me and kick me out...

    Answer:
You need to do what your heart sayss. No matter what your dad says. And if he does kick you out then obviously he doesnt love you for who you are. Just make sure you are true to yourselff.

    Soprano's Spinoff???
    Question:
I have heard through the Grapevine, that David Chase, creator and producer of "The Sopranos", is in the process of developing a spin-off called "Miami Silvio". In this series Silvio Dante, Tony Soprano's closest confidant, escapes the drama of Jersey, with family in tow, to open up a Latin version of the Bada Bing in South Beach. Beverly D'Angelo is scheduled to play his nosey neighbor, with Jason Biggs as her son, who befreinds Silvio, and becomes a major part of the series. Am I completely misinformed or do you think its possible?

    Answer:
Sounds like a good rumor and more like a sitcom. Might have to do with Steve's "Miami" nickname and someone ran with it. David Chase sounds like he wants to move on from Sopranos in Vanity Fair, but not as much as James Gandolfini does. Steve said he doesn't want to play any other characters. Most of the cast still wants to keep the Sopranos franchise going though, but spinoffs fail more than succeed. Van Zandt doesn't need to do it, as it is he bailed on Springsteen (although Bruce knew it.."Bobby Jean" was about Steve) right before the "Born in the USA" tour, how he did Sopranos AND a full tilt Springsteen tour ("scaled down" to 3 hours from 4 hours) is still incredible to me.
