Can someone tell me how to find an addiction treatment center in Asbury Park, New Jersey? Question: We've only just moved to this area, so I'm really not familiar with the place yet. It's just that we need to put our son in an addiction treatment center, to get him treated for his alcoholism. Any tips you can offer will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Answer:
You can look through the local yellow pages. There'll surely be a list there of the addiction treatment centers in your area. You can also check out the links that I have provided below. Or, you can go to the nearest hospital and ask a doctor or healthcare provider for recommendations. I hope your son gets treated soon, it's always tough, but he can get through it. Just continue being there for him. Good luck!

asbury park, new jersey concerts?!? Question: i really want to convince my parents to go to a concert at asbury park!
please can you tell me how to convince them?
is it an outdoor concert?
is it tight?
is it very safe?
please answer all these questions! i really need it! i want to watch paramore & jack's mannequin & phatom planet & paper route
Answer:
Do you live far away from the venue? Maybe ask your parent's if they will drive to the venue with you before the show. Let them take a look at the venue and the area. If they see that it's safe maybe they will let you go.
Have your parents listened to the music of the bands that you want to see? They are pretty normal, happy bands. Not the kind of bands that have crazy, violent fans, or fans that would insight a riot or anything. Maybe if they understand the type of people that will be there they will be more willing to let you go.

Is it a good idea to buy a home in Asbury Park right now? Question: I'm relocating back to New Jersey, but I remember the area run down, I've heard great things lately, but am still worried. Any advise?
Answer:
Not only is Asbury Park still trying to "redevelop" and not succeeding, but you should never buy a house at the Jersey shore during the summer. The prices will be at their peak. Wait until at least late September or later before you start looking. There are plenty of nice areas surrounding Asbury Park that will have reasonable prices after the season has ended.

Is Asbury Park NJ nice to stay in? Question: Im thinking of taking a Jersey Shore trip this summer, have they cleaned up Asbury Park or is there another nice shore town in northern jersey?
I dont want to go down as far souh as Cape May
Answer:
Belmar is 3 miles south of Asbury Park and is a much nicer beach town. The train station is an easy walk from the beach.
Asbury Park is nicer than it was 10 years ago. But it's still a dump and still has a long way to go to being nice.

Is it just me or is the "Old Casino" at the end of GTA IV very similar to the old casino in Asbury Park NJ? Question: I grew up in Asbury Park and I've seen that old building a million times. As I played that mission I couldn't help but think of how much that map reminded me of the Casino. Obviously the only people who are going to be able to answer this are going to have to have played all the way to this mission and be from the Jersey shore to have a clue as to what I am talking about. Hopefully someone else agrees. I think you have to go for revenge in order to fight in the casino.

What is the best equipment to buy for fishing in the Atlantic Ocean? Question: I just recently moved to the Jersey Shore (Asbury Park Area) and am really interested in fishing. I've only fished for bass and lake perch on Lake Erie in the past, so I have no idea where to start or what bait to use. Thanks for the help!
Answer:
If surf fishing, you'll need a 10' fishing pole, St. Croix Triumph, and a surf casting reel, Shimano Baitrunner 4500. As far as bait, bunker (Menhaden), Mackerel, or Herring. If you fishing by boat, a Penn Squider and a 6' Star fishing rod.

Why does New Jersey suck so much? Question: I have lived here my whole life. I'm not here to bash Jersey, but I have been on Craigslist for the past few months and noticed people really go out of their way to defend the slightest joke about this state, and quoting those tired "Jersey Facts". We have Philly and NYC and the coast (I have lived by the beach my whole life), but we do not have palm trees. This February was extremely cold and windy, down to 15 and less, and about 25 degrees on average. This is a terrible place to be in the coldest months.
I also find people in my area having to make a big deal out of it, when it's really not that great (Asbury Park area). Asbury was kind of cool back in the 70's, I guess, but it's never going ot be the same. Don't kid yourself! I'm sure this happens all over the country, but I still can't help but find it disturbing. NJ isn't that great! I'll go out on a limb and say that NYC isn't that great, and the Philly area is better. Of course, it all depends on the individual.
Answer:
It only sucks because you want it to suck.
It is so true when living in one place for too long or only moving there one never seems to give it a second look over,
Make changes in your life, for your life for New Jersey.
Be that one to stand tall , put out or shut up.
You may be one but to that one you could mean the world.
In your case Be that one to make that change for your world- New Jersey.

New Jersey Music Hall of Fame? Question: In 2005 there was talk of opening a NJ Music Hall of Fame in Asbury Park. I have not heard or been able to find any updates since, does anyone know if this is still in the works?

Answer:

Popular beaches in central jersey? Question: me and my friends are heading out to the beach this weekend.
they dont like sandy hook because its really dirty.
sometimes, i go to presidents beach in long branch, but its a little rocky.
ive also heard if bradley beach in asbury park or something.
can you guys suggest some popular beaches in central jersey
Answer:
Seaside and Point are both kinda touristy and gross. Bradley and Avon are very clean and really quiet. Try Belmar for a younger crowd (especially around 16th Ave) and Ocean Grove for a family atmosphere. Asbury Park is in a "restoration period" and there's not much to see or do and there are no lifeguards (yet). Sea Bright and Manasquan are both really nice beaches, with a good mix of family and twenty-somethings.

Just Curious....But What Makes An Artist "Brilliant?"? Question: I was just reading a question and answer about Bruce Springstein.. Please understand that Im not taking anything away from him. I'm just not interested in his music...But a few people described him as "brilliant" and the last time I saw this performer was in a place called Asbury Park, New Jersey less than a year ago I think..
First, I couldn't understand a word he said. Second, his voice sounded as though he was singing through a metal frypan. Third, most of the people there (it was in - I think Convention Hall - were - well they looked like they were all over 45..And fourth, he was dressed kind of sloppy. So. I guess Bruce Springstein is "brilliant" in that age group? So hey. Im 23. What do I know anyway.
I guess he's just not my style...
(and yes I know he's made millions of dollars in his career, and I know he has lots of fans)
Answer:
Though art is subjective and opinions will vary about art, I believe brilliance is the ability to express one's art and manage to make it appealing or compelling to others who will experience it.
