City DescriptionBennington is a city in Douglas County, Nebraska, United States. The population was 937 at the 2000 census.
Bennington is located at 41°21′57″N 96°9′23″W / 41.36583, -96.15639 (41.365747, -96.156395).
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.4 square miles (1.0 km²), all land.
As of the census of 2000, there were 937 people, 346 households, and 255 families residing in the city. The population density was 2,428.7 people per square mile (927.6/km²). There were 359 housing units at an average density of 930.5/sq mi (355.4/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 98.40% White, 0.21% Native American, 0.53% Asian, and 0.85% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.49% of the population.
There were 346 households out of which 40.5% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 58.4% were married couples living together, 11.3% had a female householder with no husband present, and 26.3% were non-families. 22.5% of all households were made up of individuals and 12.7% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.71 and the average family size was 3.23.
