    Im visiting Beatrice Nebraska,?
    Question:
Driving from the panhandle of TX, does anyone know any short cuts

    Answer:
Mapquest or those sites will probably direct you onto Interstate 40 east to Oklahoma City, then North on Interstates 35 and 135, etc... which is definitely "L" shaped route. Depending upon where you start out in Texas, US 56 and US 54 diagonalling crossing Kansas are pretty good and even though 2-lanes mostly, there isn't much traffic or many towns to slow down for. I would take US 56 E to Great Bend, KS, Kansas 156 to Interstate-70. I-70 E to near Salina, US 81 N to Belleville, US 36 E to Marysville, and US 77 N to Beatrice.
