City DescriptionForest City is a city in Holt County, Missouri, United States. The population was 338 at the 2000 census.
Forest City is located at 39°58′59″N 95°11′27″W / 39.98306, -95.19083 (39.983135, -95.190735).
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 1.0 square miles (2.5 km²), all of it land.
As of the census of 2000, there were 338 people, 139 households, and 91 families residing in the city. The population density was 346.3 people per square mile (133.2/km²). There were 148 housing units at an average density of 151.6/sq mi (58.3/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 96.15% White, 0.89% African American, 0.59% Native American, and 2.37% from two or more races.
There were 139 households out of which 29.5% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 54.0% were married couples living together, 6.5% had a female householder with no husband present, and 34.5% were non-families. 28.8% of all households were made up of individuals and 16.5% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.43 and the average family size was 3.05.
