were ranked as one of the best schools for learning and sports in the state
but will it hurt me that i dont go to a private school or a really great school now
thanks for any answers i get
Answer:
You need to aim for the highest GPA possible in the most challenging level of courses your school offers, do well on the SATs (2100+) and APs (4/5), get involved in ECs, volunteer if you're interested, and so on. If you work hard, get good grades, and pursue your interests and just generally get involved and active in school, you have a good shot.
In terms of coming from a small town, I wouldn't worry about it....Hanover, NH is a small town in a rural area, and often attracts students from/looking for a more-rural school. And attending a school with a strong academic reputation is more important than whether it is public or private. Good luck!

I don't understand annual percentage yeilds, help me? Question: I am currently banking at 2 seperate banks in two different states. I'd like to know which is a better deal to make and why exactly.
I obviously don't understand the interest rates and such, but I have 4 different Certificates of Deposit. I know those are good, but I don't exactly know which bank is a better deal.
Bank of Bolivar - based in Missouri.
I have $5,000 in a 5 month CD with a 3.03 Annual Percentage Yeild, and a 3.00 Annual Rate.
Ent - based in Colorado.
I have 3 different CD's in that bank. They all three have the same Annual Percentage Yeild of 3.75 and the same Dividend Rate of 3.69. My 3 month CD has $1,500. My 4 month, $1,600. My 5 month CD, $1,350.
I want to know which is a better deal, and why. It also wouldn't hurt to know what a Dividend Rate is either. For that matter, how do I figure out how much money I'm going to get through those CD's?
I just need some honest opinions on which bank would be better... the ent bank, or the bank of Bolivar.
THANKS
Answer:
Yield is the amount you'll get in interest.
Rate is how they calculate it.
Two math problems for you:
$1,000 is deposited with a 12% rate, compounded annually.
$1,000 is deposited with a 12% rate, compounded monthly.
How much will you get from each one?
1) $1,000 * (1.12)
2) $1,000 * (1.01)^12 That's 1% a month for 12 months.
