I live in St. Louis but was visiting family nearby. A large group of us went to this place last summer. I love the atmosphere and the food was good, but the waitress needs a better attitude to go with the customer service job she has and the food took forever to arrive.

Not much Mexican, more El Salvadoran. Too much poor quality cheese and grease. Heartlanders, travel to south Texas for Mexican, Tex-Mex, and conjunta music.

I took my team to the one in Jonesboro, AR after our game and it was the best bbq we ever had. I think they have locations total. A lot of my family lives in Missouri and Dexter Bar-B-Que caters a lot of their company dinners around the holidays and when we visit my aunts make sure to save some saved for us. We simply cannot get enough! Being health conscious these ribs are spiced but not drowned in a fattening sauce. A big plus!

I'm a local girl who grew up eating the best bbq pork sandwiches ever right there at the Dexter Queen. I've lived out west now for almost 30 years and I can safely say, no other bbq like it exists. My husband, who grew up in Michigan, was a convert from his first taste. When I get back to Dexter I make sure I go have my 'fix'. I miss it like you couldn't possibly believe. Anyone who has the opportunity to try a Dexter Queen pork sandwich should NOT pass it up. (Local secret: Order it extra brown!)

Wonderful little hide away. We enjoy it everytime we eat there. It is a private, calm, family atmosphere. The servings are big, service is always excellent and with a smile, and they have a vegtables platter they serve before you get your meal. It is a great place to take the family, have a group get together, or to go when you want a quiet meal with your spouse. Certain nights they provide entertainment and they are not open the entire week...Haven't tasted the breakfasts yet, but I am sure it is great. They open early for the hunters and early risers, too. I would suggest this restaurant to anyone.

We eat there when ever in town which is about once a month. Food is always good, hot and a great choices. Folks are friendly and a large non smooking section. We nave never ordered from the menu because the buffet always looks so good.
