Billy Buffett's (tie)Mimi's wasn't always Mimi's, but it has been an underground (literally) neighborhood drinking establishment in old Ferguson for nearly 50 years. And it shows. The old linoleum tile floor, the scuffed-up tables, the carved wood bar, the early Reagan-era Atari-like Galaxian console game and a few long-in-the-tooth patrons make you feel as if you've slipped into a time when, well, a time when north county was still crawling with blue-collar stiffs who worked hard for Mr. Mac or Mr. Ford and knocked back a couple brews before heading home. The jukebox, appropriately, features the likes of Sammy Hagar, Metallica and Aerosmith, but there's a nod to classic crooners such as Sinatra and Martin. On a recent Tuesday at around 9 p.m., the place hosted about three dozen regulars, yukking it up, enjoying their 50-cent draft Buds (Tuesdays and Thursdays only). While Mimi's has a full bar, based on the ornate signage (including the rotating Clydesdale-wagon-light fixture that you'd love to have in your basement), this is definitely Anheuser-Busch Country. Mimi's offers pinball, darts, Keno, a couple of pool tables and, occasionally, live music. And we like the fact you have to climb up the stairs to get out -- it's harder to fall up than down.

One of my favorites--not cheap but good for a chain. The crab cake sandwich is great--enough for two--as well as the crispy spicy beef. Be prepared to wait otherwise go a little before the lunch or dinner rush. Don't plan on eating dessert if you eat a meal--way to much. But you can get your cheesecake to go, otherwise go just for dessert and coffee.

Until last week I had not been to Hodak's Restaurant in close to 30 years. My recent return visit was good. I like the complete remodeling Hodak's has done to their restaurant. The food is about the same, good chicken, fries and I will say nobody mixes up coleslaw like Hodak's.

This casual restaurant has locally grown items of every sort, tremendous imported foor and beverages. I urge you to try it- Of over 2000 restaurants I have dined in-Riddles Penultimate is the best I have yet tried. I dont own it/work there or know anyone who does- I just love it! Changing menus, great service, and the finest food I have ever had. And now on to their homemade desserts-WOW! As my gf says "Yummy!"

Classics is a great local bar and grill with a very nice staff. We live right down the street and just love the place. The drinks are poured nice and heavy the food is great bar and grill food. Great places for friends to hang out and well the prices are the best around. They also do take out which is nice when you went a cheeseburger or hot ham and cheese. Great place, great food, great people what else do you need?

My 2 favorite bartenders: Lucky and Johnny N! The BEST fish and chips! Great atmosphere, too. Not a place if you want a quiet dinner after 7 p.m. though. Authentic Irish Pub with great food, beer, and service. The Irish bands are imported from Ireland and stay there for a month or so at a time. Unique place.

I enjoy Toast Time because the drinks are reasonably priced.They also have great happy hour specials with free food. The atmosphere is friendly and the juke box holds a wide variety of music for the young and the more sophisticated. I would recommend Toast Time to anyone visiting the St. Louis area.

I've heard so much about this place and I decided to check it out. The seating area in the restaurant was really small. The waiter bumped into our table each time he passed by. The food was greasy and when I left, I carried the smell of grease and an old ashtry. The barteder really gave off the impression that he could care less if we were there or not. The only reason we hung around longer was because we ran into an old buddy of mine and wanted to catch up. I won't even begin to talk about the bathrooms. You really don't want me to go their. It could have possibilites under better management and structure.

Love it. I cannot wait until I can schedule this bar back in to my busy days. Jake is the owner and is very friendly. He will personally sit and taste with you until you find the perfect wine for your day or evening. The menu is supurb. Lest forget the cheeses and flatbreads. Excellent as a brumming endless compliment to any wine. This bar is perfect for a first or five hundredth date, anyone from your best friend from the neighborhood to your best girl/boyfriend!
