Third trip to Rays for us in as many weeks. The Oysters Rockefeller and crabcake appetizers were 5 star. We tried the 1/2 lb Filet mignon and the Filet Oscar. While the dishes were masterfully prepared and perfectly seasoned (the steak was perfect), there seemed to be a problem with us slightly tweaking our choices. The Oscar was specifically ordered without the borderlaise sauce, yet was delivered to us smothered with it. A HUGE potatoe was asked to be served up sans bacon, yet this was also forgotten. I also had to remind the server for our vegetable of the day order. I had to point out each of the the errors to the server. Kitchens can and do make mistakes, and Ray did quickly and gracefully apologize and remedy these, but they errors should have been caught by the server BEFORE the food was placed before us. If a restaurant wants to aspire to the highest rating, the wait staff needs to be on their toes. For a small high-end establishment such as Rays, this is a must. But, all was well by the time we had our Crepes royal. How could one ever stay disgruntled after that wonderfully prepared and flavorful 5 star dessert? Will we go back? Even with these glitches I can easily say ABSOLUTELY.

We have eaten at several Mexican restaurants over the years, including some in Cancun. This restaurant has some of the freshest ingredients, best sauces and best flavors of any I have had anywhere else. Great restaurant and great service. Kudos!!!

I do not like Cajun food at all, so I was reluctant to go here. My son swoons for the gator tail plate, though, and my daughter for the frog legs. I gingerly tried a steak and told them to hold all the seasonings. They did and it was outstanding! Also the house salad; please try it. Went back and tried the oyster poor boy sandwich; very good! Only thing I would change is the bread they serve with the steaks. Need to be a little more adventurous, folks, and put a little character into it. Oh, did I mention the GREAT bread pudding!!

Entry into the New Orleans restaurant is like entering a quaint room in the French Quarter in the city of New Orleans. You are greeted by friendly people who cannot seem to do enough for you. They are pleasant and cater to your every wish. If you are not ready to dine, you may sit at the bar and be served all manner of drinks by the amiable staff. When ready to dine, you are shown to a nice table in a subdued atmosphere. The tables are set in a classic style and all linens and items are clean. The bill of fare is complete with seafood items, steaks, chops among other well though out dishes. The servers are always ready to explain what each item consiste of and what the specials are. Of course, there is a full drink menu from the bar. The food is served and prepared with an eye not only to tantilize the taste buds, but also pleasing on the eyes. The quiet, subdued atmosphere allows a romantic, quiet dinner, or a friendly meeting, or even a family dining experience. The servers are always available, but never obtrusive. When you need an item, it is there without you realizing how it got there. All personell are amiable and courteous. Price-wise, the cost is very much commensurate with atmoshpere and service. At this level of dining, it would be expected to be much higher. This restaurant is high on my list of places to definitely return to!

Came to sample and consider for a banquet. Atmosphere delightful. Rushed by waitress. Bread...poor flavor, nothing about it Italian. I'd rather have had a loaf of Italian bread from a nearby grocery store than the flavorless, cold bread served. Ravioli had a strange taste to it, almost like dish soap. I couldn't eat it, but didn't reveal that to my host. I was greatly disappointed, but will probably return with local friends since they seem to enjoy it. BREAD makes all of the difference. Shape up soon, please. I'll be back in January if not before.
