Good pub grub and more! Stop in for lunch or dinner lots of families do. The happy hour is ok but not very busy most days. They are having more events like bike night and classic car night which are good. Waitstaff is friendly and attentive (and most are pretty easy on the eyes). Closed on Sundays except during Football season. What about NASCAR/baseball/golf/etc?

The sauce is great but if you are looking for a place to relax and be waited on, you may have better luck at McDonald's. All of the servers are high school kids who do not have a clue, and if you approach the manager/owner beware she will do her best to talk down to you. If you want carry out, you may want to go to a different place. It's a shame that the service is so bad, because the food is great.

A little bit out of the way but oh so worth the trip! Try the brownies (burnt ends) if they have any left. The slab of ribs looks like the ones on the Flintstone's. It's all good but ask for an extra plate because yours will be so full that you'll like a little extra room.

The kitchen is slow, and has been every time I have gone. The thing that topped it off was when we went (my sister wanted to go for her birthday) the TV above us was turned to something rather graphic. While the waitress changed it when we asked it was not appropriate for a family establishment.

This is BAR NONE my favorite barbeque place in Kansas City. My boyfriend and I always get the ribs for two meal which comes with 3 large sides - this is plenty for us plus leftovers. The Jack Stack barbeque sauce is simply the best and we also always have a bottle at home. The ribs are fall-off-the-bone tender and flavorful. The beans and cheesy corn are TO DIE FOR! As for location, I prefer the Martin City restaurant because the rural location and rustic decor seem more authentic. However, the Plaza location is also quite nice and a bit more grandly decorated. As for other Kansas City BBQ, I do like Oklahoma Joe's, despite the fact that it's in a gas station, however I'm not a huge fan of Gates - maybe it's the "Hi May I Help You" constant cattle call to the customers that unnerves me at Gates. After tip and drinks, our bill is normally in the $40 range, so in my opinion Jack Stack is a very affordable dining experience in a nice atmosphere.

Great service and a great time to spend with friends. Grill closes at about 8 or 9pm. Waitresses are good looking. Singing goes on during the weekends, with T.V. and a good deal of seats. Pool tables and darts are set up nicely to be out of the way yet easy to get to.

The KC All Stars played my wedding last June at The Uptown Theater and they were by far the highlite of the night! I'm still getting calls from my friends asking who the band was - I don't want to tell them because I don't want everyone using them - but alas - I can't be a KC All Stars ball-hog. I would HIGHLY reccommend them for your wedding reception - they will get everyone up on the floor and keep them there. They are also great at the planning part - KC All Stars = the best in KC.

I have personally seen both sides to Austin's. For years my family has been going to Austin's for the food and drinks. When it came time to finding a job, Mike Thayer, handed me an application. After three years of being employed, working roughly 4-5 days a week, along with eating meals there practically everyday I was working and at least stopping by when I was off, I must say the food never got old. The fries are legendary, I've met people out of state that still rave about their fries years later. The burgers are heavenly, or at least that is what I have been told by friends that I've brought there. In fact, monday night burgers have become a tradition, for me and many many more. I have received loads of compliments about the food and service. I must say, that Austin's is a place of regulars, you are always greeted with a smile! To those that have had complaints, please take into consideration, with the food, in a restraunt that contains around 35 tables, that hold 4-6 each, along with a full bar, it's hard to perfect every meal, but overall, the quality is unmatched! Some say the service is horrible, but the truth is, that sometimes there are new girls serving, and it's hard to juggle 20-25 people all at once, everyone of them needing food and drinks. After 3 years of working in a place I consider a home away from home, purely because of the people that walk thru those doors and the meals I have been lucky enough to dig into, I have nothing horrible to say. And after working in a few other Bar and Grill, all I can do is rave, Service is number one at Austin's and the food is unmatched. All I have to say is log off your computer, and drive on over. Start off with some Spinach Artichoke dip or maybe some Queso. Any burger you choose will be divine, the ribs fall off the bone, and the delgato wings are always a crowd pleaser. Another dish you can't go wrong with is the Fingers and fries. Just remember, you'll be greeted with a smile, and a smile back is always appreciated... It's difficult being polite to customers that are rude... when you walk thru the doors, just sit back, and relax... CHEERS!!!
