Questions Possibly Related to Atlanta, MissouriProvided By Y! Answers
How is living in St. Louis, Missouri compared to Atlanta? Question: I'm considering going to graduate school at Washington U. but I'm a little hesitant about moving to St. Louis. I've heard they have one of the highest crime rates in the US (ranked like #3 I think, yikes!).
So, what's it like living there? I live in Atlanta now, so can anyone make any comparisons (cost, public transport, activities, nightlife...)? Also, would it it necessary to own a car to get around? Thanks!!
Answer:
I went to Emory in Atlanta and Washington U Law in St. Louis. Atlanta is more face paced and cosmopolitan. St. Louis has more of a "home town" atmosphere with a lot of neat ethnic neighborhoods. You really can't do much better than Wash. U. Moreover, St. Louis is a marvelous town. It is very safe, particularly around Wash U. Yes, there is some crime but that is in isolated pockets mainly in North City and North County, well away from Wash U. You just can't go wrong with Wash U. and St. Louis.
Cost of living is lower in St. Louis. We have a good bus system and light rail system. Nightlife is hopping in the Central West End on Delmar (near Wash U.) or downtown on Laclede's Landing.
Once you visit the Wash U. campus and surrounding areas you won't want to leave.

if i get my child a debit card, can she get cash from it? Question: I've always used a credit card or written a check, but I'm from Atlanta and my child is going to school in Missouri.
She has her own bank account here, so If I get her a debit card can I just transfer money to her account or add it myself, and can she get cash from an atm somewhere in missouri if she needs it?
Answer:
yea a debit card is pretty much just like a credit card but with a limit so if there is $500 in her bank account she can take out that amount of money from an atm, use it anywhere her card is accepted, and even online.

Travel Itenerary? Question: I plan to go to the States next year from the Philippines.. I welcome your suggestion. I want to visit the following places if possible within 3 weeks time frame and they include if possible the following: San Diego, Denver Colorado, New Jersey, Missouri, Atlanta Georgia, etc
Please include the travel airline that offers best rate and how much or less it will cost.
I have a difficult time planning the trip because i know these states are either in the west or east. so what is in your opinion and knowledge, the connecting routes where your airlines serve?
Answer:
It's a big country. So I would pick one coast or the other, East or West, and start planning.
Then I'd take a few days in each city. For example, give yourself five days for Los Angeles (includes San Diego), four for San Francisco, four in Seattle, a couple in Las Vegas (everyone should see Las Vegas) and four in Denver. Then look at the various travel books to figure out what you'd like to see in each location. For example, the Grand Canyon isn't too far away from Las Vegas, Yosemite isn't a huge drive from San Francisco, etc.
You don't want to spend all of your time traveling on a trip like this. So cut down on distance, and save the Midwest and the East for later.

Is it about time this came out? Some Jehovah's Witnesses want more than to leave Watchtowers ? Question: Towns where Alleged Jehovah's Witness Child molesters have been reported to silentlambs
Home
Listed by each state
If you would to add a new listing contact silentlambs at info@silentlambs.org
The list below is designed to alert you to a possible danger in your community. Over the course of the last four years silentlambs has been a repository of reports on alleged Jehovah's Witness child molesters. Victims have reported extensively on times, dates and places abuse occurred. We have wrestled with how to alert the public as well as members that may be in congregations where abusers have been reported.
We offer the following suggestions if you as a Jehovah's Witness are in a town/congregation where a report has been made.
Do not allow your children to be alone with anyone in the congregation.
Escort your children to the bathroom during meetings and make sure no else is with them when using facilities.
Never allow your children to be alone in the car with anyone while in field service.
Do not allow any member to study with your child alone.
Avoid camping trips in which children go as a group with one or two adults.
Avoid baby sitters that are adult males.
At a get together watch your children and keep them in sight at all times.
Ask elders directly if they know of any abusers in your congregation, use specific names and note their reaction. They will not tell you directly but indirectly you can often figure out who it is. If one elder is less cooperative talk to another till you find out enough information to know the facts.
Check the local sex offender list in your area, type in the name of every person in your congregation to see if any are listed.
Notice any male member of the congregation that does not have privileges such as microphone or other duties around the congregation, especially if for a long period of time. They can offer talks on the TMS or sermons Service Meeting but are not allowed to conduct meetings. (This is only in case of a confessed child molester)
Note any member of the congregation that has children with sever rebellion or emotional problems.
Do not allow your children to have sleepovers with anyone.
Note members that the elders avoid having around their children.
If you are a member of the public and your community is on the list take the following steps to protect your family.
If Jehovah's Witnesses call at your home never allow them in your home
If you do not wish Jehovah's Witnesses to call at your home purchase a no trespassing sign and place it near your door. JW's are instructing to only respect "no trespassing" signs any other variation will be ignored.
If you do not wish Jehovah's Witnesses to call you can also call the local number and ask to be placed on the "do not call" list. They will note your home and check about once a year to make sure you wish to remain on the list.
If you choose to study with Jehovah's Witnesses do so at a neutral location such as the local Kingdom Hall or in a public place.
Never allow your child to be alone with members or their children.
If you choose to attend meetings with Jehovah's Witnesses then we suggest you follow the guidelines above for members.
Remember that most members are not aware of who the molesters are in their congregation according to church policy. They do not know.
If two Jehovah's Witnesses call at your door one could be a child molester. According to church guidelines all confessed child molesters are required to have a partner when going door to door. If two Jehovah's Witnesses appear at your door you might wish to ask if one or both are child molesters for peace of mind. Of course keep in mind if the person is an accused child molester they are allowed to work alone in the door to door work.
We hope this information is helpful and assists with the ultimate goal of silentlambs, protecting children. Check back as the list is updated on a regular basis.

Is the US-midwest region pentagram meant to keep something in, or keep something out?? Question: I'm looking at the pentagram formed by connecting Chicago, IL, Kansas City, KS, Little Rock, AR, Atlanta, GA, and Pipestem, WV. The center section of the pentagram covers sections of western Kentucky, southern Illinois, and some areas of Missouri and Tennessee - its pretty rural territory.
What could be out there that is so important? Are they trying to keep something trapped in that region, or protect it from attack?
Answer:
every one has someting to keep secret. even pentagrams have secrets. have u ever herd of area 51? (hint hint)

More HW help!!!???? Question: why were the battle of fort sumter, bull run, atlanta, gettysburg, and missouri such major battles in the civil war.......AHHHHH i hate social studies!!!!!!!!
Answer:
Fort Sumter - First battle of the Civil War (first shots fired).
Bull Run (assuming you mean first, there were two at this site) - First major land battle, the Union lost and realized that winning the war wasn't going to be a cakewalk.
Atlanta - Part of Sherman's march through Georgia, led to the Siege of Atlanta where Sherman burned the city to the ground.
Gettysburg - The bloodiest battle of the war, the only major one that took place in the North, big Union victory. Considered the point at which the war turned in favor of the Union.
Missouri - A lot of skirmishes took place in Missouri, to really explain the significance I'd need the name of a city. But I'll guess anyway ... One early battle in Missouri was the Battle of Carthage, which the South won. That got people interested in fighting for the South in the war even though Missouri was a northern (and free) state.

in my english class we are writing an prospal paper and my topic is animal abuse. PLEASE READ!? Question: Animal Abuse
People ask the question why as animal abuse? We read sickening cases of cruelty to pets in local and national newspapers. Why is it, we ask some “human” creatures inflict suffering upon other creatures that are usually smaller and defenseless? Why do they take pets into their homes only to treat them with less respect and with great deal of contempt? What would you do to change or prevent animal abuse?
What is animal abuse? It is a range of behaviors harmful to animals, from neglect to malicious killing. Most cruelty investigated human officers is unintentional neglect that can be resolved through education. Intentional cruelty or abuse is depriving an animal of food, water, shelter, socialization, or veterinary care or torturing, naming, mutilating, or killing an animal.
Why would anyone be cruel to animals? There are many reasons. Animal abuse is likely any other form of violence, but often committed by a person who feels powerless, unnoticed, and under control of other. It may be to shock, threaten, intimidate, or offend others or to demonstrate rejection of society rules. Some who are cruel to animals may copy things they have seen or that have been done to them. Others see harming innocent’s animals as a safe way to get revenge on someone who cares about animals
For example: In March of 2007 in Missouri, a two years old beagle-shepard mix was shot and left on the side of the road wounded and bleeding in below freezing weather. He was taken to and shelter and is now being cared by one of the co-founders of the shelter, at their home. Another example is in Atlanta where two brothers age 17 and 19 decided to cook a puppy to death in their oven. They duct taped the snout and the paws. The boys threw paint on the dog and cooked it alive. How sick are people to even think about doing this? The puppy was tortured and mutilated, and scratch marks in the oven to prove it. That’s how far animal abuse can go.
What happen when authorities prosecute an animal? Animal abuse is common and the penalties aren’t as serious as they should be. According to the Missouri cruelty to animal statues, a person is guilty of an animal abuse for three reasons: 1) if they intentionally or purposely kill an animal in any manner. 2) If they purposely or intentionally cause injury or suffering to an animal. 3) If they have ownership and custody of an animal and knowingly fail to provide enough care or control.
Animal abuse is a class A misdemeanor. As a second offense, it’s a felony. A class A misdemeanor is only punish by a fine of $1,000 and up to one year in jail. If a person tortured or mutilated the animal while it is alive it is considered a class D felony. The only punishment for a class D is a fine of $5,000 and up to five years in jail. That is not enough. I think they should put the abusers on a Death penalty lists for torturing and killing an innocent animals for no reasons.
In 2007 there have been 77 reported neglected and abandoned animals and 10 reported mutilated and tortured animals in Missouri, according to www.petabuse.com I don’t understand what would trigger someone to abuse an innocent animal, which may not be there pets. Many killers start out killing animals before they kill people. For example: “Brenda Spencer abused cats and dogs and sometimes by setting their tails on fire. Then older she fired rifle shots at school children, wounding nine and killing two.” Another example is the “Boston strangler who trapped dogs and cats in orange crates and watched animals kill each other. He also shot arrow through the boxes to kill the animals. He was charged for robbery and rape in January 1967.”
If you know anyone who is harms their pet, or cruel to animals in any way. Please! Do not hesitate to report them to authorities. In doing so, you may not only be saving the life of an animal also a human being. Every time I think about these animals that have been hurt or killed, makes me sick. But make me even sicker that the abusers will be back on the street in no time. Hopefully in the future there will be harsher laws for a person who does this pain to innocent animals.
Answer:
I agree that you should grammar check. For a formal paper (not saying that this is one), you should remove all the personal pronouns and individual points of view or opinions. It should just be about facts, but I don't know what grade you're in, so this is probably okay.
Something you may also want to toss in the mix is the fact that F.B.I. profilers recognize serial killers for abusive behavior to animals in early childhood. You've hinted at this with the case of Brenda Spencer, but not specified whether they perpetrated these actions as children.
You may also want to add that there's a moral and ethical obligation of humans as the caretakers of this planet to look out for the other creatures of this earth.
All in all, well done. Good job.

Why does Kentucky suck so much? Question: I'll tell you why. It's the negative, arrogant, rude attitudes of the people, especially the women. Large cities and small towns alike don't want their "ways of life" intruded, and therefore are very cold and impolite to "outsiders," especially eastern KY (Corbin to Winchester and eastward.) I lived there for five years; I felt ostricized for just not being a native.
The rest of the South is great--well, except Atlanta and Florida. The Carolinas are special; Mississippi, Alabama, and Georgia have true Southern hospitality. And, of course, the best hospitality can be found in Texas and Oklahoma. But Kentucky? "It's that friendly?" What a crock! Even some of the surrounding states--rural parts of Indiana, Illinois, and Missouri--at least don't have people so cold. Yes, Kentucky is beautiful and diverse in geography, but it's a great place to VISIT and to BE FROM! That's it!
Answer:
UH, I will strongly disagree!! I am from KY, (Western part) & the majority of people, rather it be from Eastern part or wherever, r friendly! & whatever the circumstance might be ur goin to run into a few rude people! NO MATTER! I think I can speak for a lot of people that Kentucky does not suck! Anymore everyone is suspicious of everyone!

Where would you like to see the following Super Bowls? Question: The following Super Bowls are;
XLV in 2011
XLVI in 2012
XLVII in 2013
XLVIII in 2014
L in 2016
Kansas City, Missouri has tentative been selected as the host of Super Bowl XLIX
Here is how I would like to see future Super Bowls:
2011 – Indianapolis
2012 – Atlanta
2013 – Los Angeles
2014 – Chicago
2016 – Detroit
Answer:
2011 – Indianapolis - maybe it will happen with new stadium, but it shouldn't, indy is too small and too cold
2012 – Atlanta - not unlikely, but again, it shouldn't. atlanta can be cold in january/february, and it is a fairly small market
2013 – Los Angeles - ok, but i assume you mean pasadena, and the rose bowl would need renovation. as it stands now, no chance for the colloseum, unless la gets a team and renovates it or builds a new stadium.
2014 – Chicago - no chance. i live in chicago, and i think it's the greatest city in the u.s., and new york is it's only real competition. but there's no way this will happen, it's too cold, too outdoors, and too small. after indy builds a new stadium, soldier field will be the smallest in the country, and there's no new stadium coming anytime soon after spending half a billion or so on renovations to soldier field 2 years ago.
2016 – Detroit - i hope not, too soon, and a bad idea anyway.
as for 2015, kc is probably out, the rolling roof was voted down last week, and the superbowl will not come to an outdoor arrowhead. also, i am originally from the kc area and a chiefs fan, and i think hosting a superbowl there would be a disaster; there is not enough hotels, there is not enough to do, and the weather in february sucks.
to paraprase espn.com's bill simmons, the superbowl should just rotate between san diego, new orleans, and miami. these are the only warm weather cities in the country with the hotel space, the stadium and convention facilities, and also the fun factor stemming from centralized downtowns and no shortage of bars. the superbowl is the biggest u.s. sporting event of the year, except for the occasional hosting of a summer olympics. it is also a week-long party. thus, it should be played only in places that people want to go, and unfortunately since it is a winter event, this excludes cold climates. should the chiefs ever make the superbowl, i fully intend to attend by any menas necesary, selling my car, maxing out credit cards, whatever. and in such a case, i would hate to do so to spend a week in houston, jacksonville, or detroit.
