City Description

Amsterdam is a city in Bates County, Missouri, United States. The population was 281 at the 2000 census. Amsterdam is located at 38°21′2″N 94°35′15″W / 38.35056, -94.5875 (38.350484, -94.587497). According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.6 square miles (1.5 km²), all of it land. As of the census of 2000, there were 281 people, 102 households, and 69 families residing in the city. The population density was 480.9 people per square mile (187.1/km²). There were 109 housing units at an average density of 186.6/sq mi (72.6/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 98.22% White, 0.71% Native American, and 1.07% from two or more races. There were 102 households out of which 36.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 56.9% were married couples living together, 6.9% had a female householder with no husband present, and 31.4% were non-families. 23.5% of all households were made up of individuals and 6.9% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. im traveling from missouri to amsterdam, and wondering the cheapest and best way to do this, fly directly to amsterdam or to a nearby country and ride a bus or take a train there? and where is a good place to stay there? things to do? etc, etc Thanks

Answer:
Amsterdam is usually one of the cheaper places to fly in and out of for trips between Europe and the US. I live in Italy and often the best fare for me is to fly via Amsterdam since there are good budget airlines between the Netherlands and several airports close to my home here. It's also a good place to take an extra day for a break in the trip - an added advantage in my case.
