    I need a Missouri insurance agency owner for this question.?

    How do I get a license for a new agency in Missouri? I've already checked at department of insurance to try and find the form, but couldn't find it on their site. Do you know the name of the form I need?

    Are you REALLY sure that you want to start a NEW agency? The insurance market is pretty soft right now and more and more companies are vying for market share. I am sure that is close to what happens in Texas. When I opened my agency in 1984, all I had to have was a license to sell the insurance products that I wanted to sell. You just contact your State's Department of Insurance and apply for an insurance license. Then, you will need to register you name and location with them. Since my name is IN my agency name, I didn't even have to have a dba....now, if you are John Jones and open Jones Insurance Agency, you're okay because you ARE John Jones. But, if you wanted to open up Aardvark Insurance (which I would do in a heart beat if I were opening something new...just think of the logos you could come up with...but., that's another story) You DOI will probably require that you carry E&O insurance, as will your insurance carriers. Then, it's just a matter of getting some companies to appoint you and you're off to the races! You might fare better by trying to find an agency in your area that is wanting to sell. This would at least give youi some policies to begin with. Good luck and I hope this helps!

    I suggest that you consider becoming an agent with Farmers Insurance. If they recruit you, they will train you and teach you how to start you own agency. The cost of starting your own agency is manageable. In return, you will be a "captive agent" (you sell Farmers line of products).

    i'm 11 years old and REALLY want to get into acting. i know a good agency can get you anywhere, so please help me.

    Look in your local newspaper and phone book. Call the agents up and ask if there books are full, what type of work they often get, how much does it cost each year (most agents have a general cost for the agent to promote them - this is usually around $200 which is great, NEVER go for agents which you have to pay over $500.) Also, since you're only 11 you're very young. I suggest you start acting lessons if you still haven't because agents don't accept people they can't get work for. You usually have to have at least 2 years experience. You also have to be very confident! 11 years is a very hard year to get work. Usually kids under 10 get most of the work. Eleven is to young for teen work and a teeny bit to old for kids work (when I say kids work , I mean kids toys and clothing etc - this is the most popular market) I suggest you wait till you're 15. That would be the best decision. Do the best you can in your acting lessons because it all pays off. Also, audition for your school plays and community plays so you can get even more experience and add to your resume. Trust me, agents don't accept people who haven't even been in a community play, they must have been in little plays - ANYTHING! and have years of experience. The acting business is extremely hard, so I suggest you concentrate on school and acting. Good luck!

    You're out of luck on that account. Talent agencies always cost something. The entertainment career will always cost someting before you can get anything back. Missouri really only has two cities, Kansas City and St. Louis. Not really an entertainment over load. If you live closer to St. Louis there are some places you can try to get involved with. There's the huge Shakespeare Festival every summer as well as the Muny outdoor theater. If you really want to make it big though, you're going to have to leave MO and head on to deeper waters.

    Is Missouri an agency required state? If so, you need to go through an agency in order to legally adopt. If the fees are too much, perhaps look into an independent adoption. That is where you take on the job of finding a birthmother, instead of the agency doing it for you. That will save you a good chunk of money. Have you placed ads in the local paper?     For your area, most likely modeling work in will be catalogue shoots and trade shows, not high fashion. Kansas City is also the modeling capital of your state. I&I is the Kansas City affiliate of Wilhimina Models. This is a good stepping stone to get into their Manhattan agency. This is definitely legit, but picky. Over in St Louis, Centro Models specializes in catalogue and glossy ad work. They are looking for the typical model look, not the girl next door. Kim Hoffman at the Hoffman agency has successfully placed models at Ford and Wilhelmina in Manhattan. I don't know if she can get you much local work. She also specializes in teens. I recommend the Kansas City agency called Talent Unlimited for their client list. They specialize in booking advertising work such as the local Wal-mart flyer. It's not glamorous, but its a start. However, since it has so many models, you might get lost in the crowd. A promising agency in Kansas City is called Exposure. They specialize more in voice over and comedian representation, but represent a few models. Their main aim would be to help you get placed with a major Manhattan, Tokyo or Milan agency. You might get a lot of extra attention from this agency just based on size.

    Talent Unlimited is the best in the KC area. Beware of John Robert Powers. They are a ligit agency, but they are a borderline scam. They ask for alot of money for lessons that aren't really needed--but you must take the lessons to sign the contract. Try googling "talent agencies in mo", that will get you a pretty decent list. Not only do they have higher wages, the benefits, such as the pension, travel expenses, enhanced hour payments all add up to make the trust a better bet. The NHS jobs website will show you the positions and wages that are on offer. Also this site will only show you the basic wage, NHS workers get on average an extra 25% on top of their wage for the unsociable hours that they work.
