City Description

Tucker is a census-designated place (CDP) in Neshoba County, Mississippi, United States. The population was 534 at the 2000 census. Tucker is located at 32°42′24″N 89°3′22″W / 32.70667, -89.05611 (32.706559, -89.055984). According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 3.7 square miles (9.5 km²), of which, 3.7 square miles (9.5 km²) of it is land and 0.04 square miles (0.1 km²) of it (0.55%) is water. As of the census of 2000, there were 534 people, 154 households, and 125 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 146.4 people per square mile (56.5/km²). There were 159 housing units at an average density of 43.6/sq mi (16.8/km²). The racial makeup of the CDP was 5.99% White, 0.19% African American, 92.88% Native American, 0.56% from other races, and 0.37% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.56% of the population. There were 154 households out of which 53.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 33.8% were married couples living together, 34.4% had a female householder with no husband present, and 18.2% were non-families. 14.9% of all households were made up of individuals and 5.8% had someone living
