City Description

Louise is a town in Humphreys County, Mississippi, United States. The population was 315 at the 2000 census. Louise is located at 32°58′54″N 90°35′30″W / 32.98167, -90.59167 (32.981549, -90.591624). According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 0.2 square miles (0.4 km²), all of it land. As of the census of 2000, there were 315 people, 117 households, and 80 families residing in the town. The population density was 1,898.5 people per square mile (715.4/km²). There were 125 housing units at an average density of 753.4/sq mi (283.9/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 54.29% African American, 44.13% White and 1.59% Asian. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.32% of the population. There were 117 households out of which 25.6% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 45.3% were married couples living together, 21.4% had a female householder with no husband present, and 30.8% were non-families. 24.8% of all households were made up of individuals and 11.1% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.69 and the average family size was 3.28. In the town the population was spread out with 26.3%
