City DescriptionWinnebago is a city in Faribault County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 1,487 at the 2000 census.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 2.2 square miles (5.7 km²), of which, 2.2 square miles (5.7 km²) of it is land and 0.45% is water.
U.S. Route 169 and Minnesota State Highway 109 are two of the main routes in the city.
As of the census of 2000, there were 1,487 people, 641 households, and 398 families residing in the city. The population density was 675.5 people per square mile (261.0/km²). There were 705 housing units at an average density of 320.3/sq mi (123.7/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 96.30% White, 0.47% Native American, 0.67% Asian, 1.75% from other races, and 0.81% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 6.66% of the population.
There were 641 households out of which 25.4% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 52.4% were married couples living together, 7.5% had a female householder with no husband present, and 37.9% were non-families. 34.2% of all households were made up of individuals and 20.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
