    • It's back to school time for WWG students

WWG -- "I'm really tickled with our enrollment figures," said superintendent Loy Woelber. While enrollment is down it is not down nearly as much as was anticipated by the administration last spring.

Despite making some cuts in staff and sharing with other districts, the budget was still a little short. With the higher than expected enrollment, the school will have an easier job  of meeting it's budget.

Woelber is pleased with the new hires that have been made at both schools. One of the recent hires, part time custodian Skip Brown, told Woelber he had never seen nicer school facilities.

    • Between the Lines

Bright and early Monday morning Warren Riddell and his crew arrived at the old Sentinel Tribune office to begin demolition. I watched and photographed the event several times during the day. By 11:00 most of the building was down, and by late afternoon the majority of it was hauled away. The only thing left this evening was a portion of the concrete floors and just a little of the cement block. It was fascinating to watch the excavator operator methodically  rip, tear, and pull down portions of the building. It was a lot like watching a surgeon working.
