City DescriptionWaverly is a city in Wright County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 732 at the 2000 census.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 1.6 square miles (4.1 km²), of which, 0.8 square miles (2.1 km²) of it is land and 0.7 square miles (1.9 km²) of it (46.50%) is water.
U.S. Route 12 serves as a main route in the community.
As of the census of 2000, there were 732 people, 284 households, and 197 families residing in the city. The population density was 879.9 people per square mile (340.5/km²). There were 332 housing units at an average density of 399.1/sq mi (154.4/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 99.18% White, 0.14% African American, 0.27% Asian, and 0.41% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.27% of the population.
There were 284 households out of which 34.9% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 55.3% were married couples living together, 9.5% had a female householder with no husband present, and 30.3% were non-families. 25.4% of all households were made up of individuals and 11.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
