City DescriptionWatson is a city in Chippewa County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 209 at the 2000 census. Lac Qui Parle State Park is nearby.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.2 square miles (0.5 km²), all of it land.
U.S. Route 59 and Minnesota State Highway 7 (co-signed) serves as a main route in the community.
As of the census of 2000, there were 209 people, 86 households, and 52 families residing in the city. The population density was 1,186.3 people per square mile (448.3/km²). There were 98 housing units at an average density of 556.3/sq mi (210.2/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 95.69% White, 0.96% Asian, 3.35% from other races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 3.35% of the population.
There were 86 households out of which 31.4% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 45.3% were married couples living together, 7.0% had a female householder with no husband present, and 39.5% were non-families. 32.6% of all households were made up of individuals and 16.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.43 and the average family size was 3.00.
