City DescriptionSquaw Lake is a city in Itasca County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 99 at the 2000 census.
The town center is located along Minnesota State Highway 46.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.9 square miles (2.2 km²), of which, 0.8 square miles (2.1 km²) of it is land and 0.04 square miles (0.1 km²) of it (3.53%) is water.
As of the census of 2000, there were 99 people, 35 households, and 21 families residing in the city. The population density was 120.7 people per square mile (46.6/km²). There were 56 housing units at an average density of 68.2/sq mi (26.4/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 31.31% White, 63.64% Native American, 1.01% Asian, and 4.04% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.01% of the population.
There were 35 households out of which 34.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 31.4% were married couples living together, 22.9% had a female householder with no husband present, and 40.0% were non-families. 31.4% of all households were made up of individuals and 20.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
