City DescriptionSacred Heart is a city in Renville County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 549 at the 2000 census.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 1.0 square miles (2.6 km²), all of it land.
U.S. Route 212 serves as a main route in the community.
As of the census of 2000, there were 549 people, 246 households, and 147 families residing in the city. The population density was 553.2 people per square mile (214.1/km²). There were 290 housing units at an average density of 292.2/sq mi (113.1/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 97.45% White, 0.18% Native American, 1.46% from other races, and 0.91% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 7.10% of the population.
There were 246 households out of which 24.0% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 51.6% were married couples living together, 6.1% had a female householder with no husband present, and 40.2% were non-families. 36.6% of all households were made up of individuals and 18.7% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.23 and the average family size was 2.94.
